PERSONALITY Boggart: Keaton Heller, grinning, and standing over the mangled bodies of his parents. Mirror of Erised: Aden with a loving wife and a whole house full of little kids. Patronus: Labrador Retriever - "studying" for exams with Delilah and Izzy at the Hogshead one night their seventh year - too much firewhiskey and way too little books. Aden can produce a patronus. Despite Aden's harsh exterior, he is the most loving bundle of human one could meet. He's fiercely (and overly) protective of his family which has been extended past just him and Delilah, but now includes Isadora Vance as well. He's smart, cunning, and can think well on the fly. When you first meet Aden, he's rather reserved, and not nearly as outgoing as his twin. The more you get to know him, the more he opens up. It's a gradual process - one that starts with off-handed commentary, which leads into full blown, relentless teasing. If he isn't calling you names, he's not really your friend. He's devout to his group to a fault. If Delilah told him to jump off of a cliff, he would do it in a heartbeat. That doesn't necessarily mean he doesn't have a mind of his own. After the twins graduated, they had this first time in their life where they weren't connected at the hip. Aden found out a lot about himself during that time - and loosened up a bit on the terrified mom outlook in his life, and really threw himself into his work. Partners: none Others: @isadora , 19, Ravenclaw, Pureblood, Best Friend/Schoolgirl Crush On April 13th, 1960 twins Aden and Delilah Adkins were born to loving parents Yvonne and Rorik. Delilah was the oldest, with Aden trailing her by eight minutes (she refuses to let him forget it, too). The two grew up in a wizarding family, both showing their skills at a young age. Their magic, it seemed, was stronger when the two were together, and often times created a hectic mess for Yvonne and Rorik. Aden and Delilah were nigh inseparable as they grew up – they were as close as twins could get. Their lack of shared identical traits were made up for in their incredible bond. They had the true definition of twin telepathy. Rorik and Yvonne were a happily married couple. Rorik was an auror, Yvonne a full time stay at home mom, and part time romance writer. Though they both led busy lives, they always made a point to share at least one meal a day together. In 1970, muggle-born disappearances were at an all time high. The wizard known as Lord Voldemort claimed responsibility for this. Rorik was among the aurors appointed to investigate Voldemort and these disappearances. Though Yvonne was hesitant to send their children to Hogwarts the following year, Rorik assured her the twins would be fine, as their lines were pureblooded. In 1971, the twins attended Hogwarts as planned. This was the first time they were separated, as Aden went to Slytherin, and Delilah was sorted to Hufflepuff. Aden didn't handle the situation gracefully - as Delilah was really the only friend he had ever known. Even though they were still going to the same school, they would no longer be constantly together. While Delilah seemed to thrive, Aden seemed to.. Stick to the shadows. The years passed and the twins attended Hogwarts uneventfully. In their second year they met the enamoring Isadora Vance, on the train ride and became quick friends. The numbers of muggle-born and mixed kids disappearing grew each year, but it never directly affected Aden - most of his friends (being in Slytherin) were pureblooded, and outside of house he only had Delilah and Isadora, who was also pureblooded. In 1974 Rorik was an auror on-site of one of the arson cases. He found a case-breaking clue as to one of the Death Eaters behind the arson. He only confides this information to his wife and his partner at the time. The fall of 1975 came - the twins were in their fifth year. They were called to the headmaster's office one day. One "I'm terribly sorry..." later, the twins were parentless. Orphaned. Rorik and Yvonne had been attacked in their home - 'blood traitor' splattered across the walls in their own blood. Aden's sister shut down. He had to step up and be strong for the both of them. Only in the late hours of the night, when Aden knew his sister was asleep, would he allow himself to mourn. The Adkins deaths and funeral were quite an affair in the press, though few actually attended due to the fear stricken by Voldemort and his Death Eaters. It wound up only consisting of Aden, Delilah, their Aunt on Yvonne's side, and Rorik's partner. After the short rites and burial, their Aunt departed, letting the twins alone to mourn. Rorik's partner, Keaton Heller, apologized to the twins. Wishing them well, and saying something along the lines of 'I wish I could've stopped them.' That night, laying in the bedroom they then shared at their Aunt's house, Delilah confided in Aden. Keaton was lying. She could feel it. He knew what was going to happen, and he was in on it. And there was nothing they could do. The twins came back to Hogwarts after the winter break. The usually chipper Delilah was broken, and whatever warmness Aden had shown before was entirely gone. They were silent and reserved. shutting out even their best friend Isadora. They finished out the year just as solemn. The following year, after some time spent mending their souls, the twins were almost back to their old selves. Aden could be caught occasionally making the quiet, smart quip, becoming more engaged in classes, etc. Finally, one night to make up the silence to Isadora, he conned her to join him in the Astronomy Tower after curfew. He confided in her what Delilah told him. How he felt. How strong he had to be, and how hard that was with everyone giving him those pitying looks. She knew everything - including the man who had helped murder his parents. Together with Isadora, the twins picked up the pieces of their life and finished out their schooling on time. As soon as Aden graduated, he knew what he had wanted to do. Before leaving Hogwarts he had already submitted his applications and paperwork to the Ministry, and mere weeks after leaving the Hogwarts grounds for the last time, he was an Auror-in-training. Training was vigorous - it was like DADA on steroids, thought it was well worth it. With everything going on in the wizarding world, the deaths within the Ministry itself, they wanted everyone to be rigorously trained. Chaos was coming, and the least they could do was prepare for... whatever was coming. After his first year in training, Aden felt confidant enough to begin investigating his late father's partner - Keaton Heller. It started with sneaking individual case files home. Copying Heller's personal files. His flat in Diagon Alley soon looked like a crime scene in and of itself. One evening that Isadora came over for a lunch, he didn't quite clean up everything relating to Heller. Instead of berating him or reminding him what type of trouble he could get into, Isadora offered her help. If Aden wasn't smitten with her before, he certainly was then. Together, they managed to dig up countless files on Heller, but nothing blatantly incriminating. Whatever it was that Rorik had found or known, it had been covered - well. During Aden's time in training, Delilah was traveling the world. After about two years she came back to England, and moved in to Aden's flat. He was glad to get his sister back, but was just starting to enjoy the silence.
