Through her mother she is related to the Brown, Flint, Shire families and through her father she is related to Blishwick, Clark families. Melissa was born two years after her brother. She always managed to fill the house with her lovely blabbering and small giggles. A year later, Mel became an elder sister when the family welcomed their second daughter and third child. She grew up in MacDougal cottage near the sea, where she still lives with her parents and her siblings. When she was little her mother made sure that her father taught all of their children how to swim. Living that close to the water she felt that it was necessary since she herself struggled in that area. Mel showed signs of magic early in her life, and and it soon showed when she caused some sprinklers to set off, drenching everyone in the immediate vicinity. And being a family who had quidditch players, she knew flying even before she could utter the word quidditch. Her father and uncles especially have taken it upon themselves and trained her in the game since childhood. Mel grew up learning it, and in the end,she was a the best in her position as a chaser just like her favorite uncle, though she does not sign up to play at her school after her accident. When Mel was only seven year old, she had a major accident involving her staying in the hospital for two weeks. It started out just like every other day, where she took her broom out and flew through the air. She was the only one in the air and her family was inside preparing for lunch. A distant cousin of the family, who was only three years back then toddled his way and opened up the quidditch balls case and setting the bludger free. Unfortunately for Lissa she was in its path and was hit by it rather hard on her head making her loose her grip on the broom and fall down. As she fell down her body hit a nearby sharp rock, though it was small it did make a tear through her leg muscles giving her a permanent scar. As the bludger was hit on her head, she had a huge concussion and lost her consciousness quickly. She lay there on the hospital bed for a week her body still with a slight breathing making it known that she was alive. A part of her skull was broken and that was something which was rectified by using a skelegrow and some complex charm work. But since she was a little kid, they could not heal her once, but had to do it in steps which took quite some time. After she woke up, she had to go through many sessions of mind therapy to make sure she was not suffering from the trauma of the accident. It was just that, an accident and Mel gradually bounced back in to her previous self, though she rather stays away from actually playing quidditch, but she still enjoys a calm ride on her broom. Since she has started studying at Hogwarts she has learned that her magic is best applied to Herbology and Potions in practicals and Runes on paper. She hates when people call her Lissie, and she has hexed a few people that do it just to get on her nerves.She only likes to be called by her full name or Mel, the name Lissie was called only by her family. At the age of 11, she started her time at Hogwarts where she was sorted into Hufflepuff and it had not taken long for her to follow in her family's footsteps. She started to cause numerous pranks around the whole school; causing herself to get a bit of a reputation. She did indeed follow her father's footsteps too, by always being on the top of her class. Not one to follow rules to the letter Melissa was very well aware of just how far she can push things before they get out of hand. She was well behaved in class, sometimes even a little quiet, but out of class she was a warm and bubbly girl whom everyone would find themselves talking to. Out going and talkative, she often helped out her cousins with pranks, but she was the kind of girl that would step up and take responsibility if it comes down to it. Despite being a natural born prankster, Mel did work hard in class and tried her best to get good grades, it's only really out of lessons that the real mayhem happens. Because she has such a large family, Mel has always been a strong believer in a solid family unity and so enjoys spending her time with her cousins at school and was always around her grandparents, aunts and uncles during the holidays. She was not the girl to hide her emotions instead she wears them on her sleeves. After her graduation was when things started to go a little different for Melissa. Her parents wanted her, especially her mother wanted her to stay home and marry someone soon and start a family. But Mel vehemently opposed that idea. She did not like the idea of being tied down by someone and instead pleaded her father to allow her to do something she likes. And while Morag was not the type to reject his daughter's wish, he did however put up some conditions. And those were not much difficult to oblige for Mel considering that she like her father did not want to go into the ministry or Mungos. She was too much of an independent spirit to be reined in to do such work consistently. Instead her father brought her the ownership of PIATTO DI FANTASIA and gave it to her to do it as she pleases. Their family had been well-off to be honest, while they were not the type to flaunt like the others, but the MacDougal family have their own lands and properties gathered overtime. And that made sure that Mel's dream came true. And thus at the age of 18, Melissa became the proud owner of PIATTO DI FANTASIA, a fine dining Italian restaurant in the Whimsic Alley. She is often contracted for weddings and parties which are high income sources for her and not to mention her regular customers. It's been more than 12 years since the restaurant has been under her control and Mel has enjoyed herself a lot. While her mother has not given up her plan to see her married, it did stop for a while. And unfortunately for Mel, that resumed these days. Considering that her elder brother has married to his lover and has made her an aunt to two lovely kids, followed by her younger sister who too got married and now is a mother to a baby girl. Being the unmarried middle sister, Mel knows that it is only a matter of few months, and before long she too will be walking down the aisle. Melissa wasn't oblivious to everything that was happening around her. She would be lying if she said that she wasn't terrified. It all started with the disappearances of the muggleborns, and that was when the name of Lord Voldemort came out. Families went missing and some were even found dead in their own house and one among them was one of her best friend's family. Hogwarts professor had been dead in attack on the village of Hogsmeade. The carnival at Godric's Hollow had turned into a slaughter house that night when not one but around 50 people were dead, muggles more than wizards. That was when she decided to do something and from a mutual friend of her's she came to know of Order of the Phoenix. And she immediately joined in, her attempt to do something useful and try and protect those she can. Her involvement is a secret and none from her family know of it. She is mainly an information gatherer, considering that she works in one of the most busiest places where eavesdropping can be easily done.
