Connection to the Order: Since he is a half-vampire along with his siblings that attended Hogwarts, Dumbledore kept close watch on them. It's merely to keep their secret a secret but Dumbledore was intrigued. He felt that Oliver, like his brother is a needed addition to the Order. Other than his enhanced skill for being a half-vampire, he has a very good personality despite having vampire's genes and blood. He, like his brother will be a good addition to the Order, and Dumbledore made sure he knew that. After he graduated, he didn’t do anything useful besides helping his father around the house and obey his sisters’ wishes whenever they are home for holidays. He then joined the hit wizard training though it is against his father’s and brother’s wish. Once Dumbledore heard the news, he immediately asked him to join the Order and he immediately agreed only after listening to Kit's opinion about it.
Useful Skills: Being a half-vampire, he can be a hero in muggle world. He is stronger and faster than any human and he heals quicker than them. Even though his brother thought that being a half-vampire was a curse, he did not. He quite enjoys being a half-vampire minus the discrimination on the non-purebloods. Oliver is now hit wizard in training but he will finish soon. Working in the ministry, he was in the right place to access any information. Being a hit wizard in training, he also receives combat training in case he ever encountered one, and you know what hit wizards do. They kill. He is not afraid to kill people, provided if they are totally on the dark side.
Useful Affiliations: He has access to ministry files. He will find out the information even if he didn't have it.
Why join the Order of the Phoenix? Besides being invited by Dumbledore, Oliver wants to join the Order to help his brother avenge their mother’s death. The tragedy that fell upon their family caused an infant Romily to live without a mother and no one should go through that. He also felt that this blood supremacy thing is ridiculous. Everyone deserves their magic and the magic was definitely not stolen. How is one supposed to steal magic? It’s ridiculous. Oliver wants to fight for the right of everyone that has been killed by the Death Eaters. No one should die because they are not a pureblood. Being a hit wizard made him so fond of killing an absolutely and definitely guilty person. He likes watching the light leave their eyes, even though so far, in his training, he had only killed dummies. He wants to join the Order for his family. He didn’t want to see his family being killed or locked away if their identities were discovered. He couldn’t bear to lose anyone in his family right now, or ever. Being a half-vampire, he knew it wasn’t fun. So he needed to rid the world of the entire evil blood supremacist so his kind and the others like him can live peacefully.
