PERSONALITY Boggart: A hairless cat. Cats are her favourite animal, to the point where she even has a cat Patronus, but they should have fur. Lots of fur. Bald cats freak her out and make her want to vomit. Do not bring one near her if you value your eardrums/don't want a tiny person scrambling over you to get away. Mirror of Erised: Cora as a human again, being embraced by their parents and treated like she used to. To have her family whole again and free of the tension and discomfort that settled over them after Cora's accident is all Emmy wants. Patronus: Cat - Emmy's happiest memory would have to be so far - moving in with her big sister when she graduated from Hogwarts. She felt the most free and excited that she had ever been, to start a brand new chapter in her life. Emmy is a spitfire. Tiny and fierce, she is a little pocket rocket, just exploding with life and love and drive. She is unapologetically herself at all times, and will not change her behaviour or who she is depending on her company. She doesn't think there's any need for fakeness in people, and she's not really a fan of pretenders, or people who are two faced or like to kiss arse. She's open, honest, hilariously funny, as brave as they come, and very, very excitable. She has a passion for life that is probably a bit over the top, but everything she does, she gives it her all, even if she's having a lazy pyjama day and her only mission is to eat popcorn until she can't move, by Merlin she will do it with great determination and dedication to the cause. Emmy is smart, but not the smartest, daring, though not reckless - well, not all of the time - and exceptionally outgoing. She can talk to a brick wall for hours about her day, and would probably offer it a cuppa and a cake, as well. She is kind. Kind beyond compare, and though she can be a bit of a headache at times with her chattiness and exuberance, she cares a lot about those around her, even if she's only just met them. She will sit and listen to your problems for hours, offer you some really bad advice, and probably ask you if you want to get drunk with her to help you forget your woes for the night. She likes alcohol. And dancing. She's not a fan of being alone, but that's mostly because she does her own head in. She needs other people around her to bounce her thoughts off of, and when there's nobody about she talks to herself, or plants, or insects or whatever is at hand, really, and her voice can sound really annoying after a certain amount of time. Emmy is a lover, but she can channel that into being an incredible fighter when she needs to. She is a formidable foe, and shone in dueling club and DADA at school. It's like her tiny fiery nature just explodes through her wand and helps her to kick arse. She likes that. There's good stuff in little parcels, or so she always claims. She's possibly referring to diamonds, though she sometimes gets her metaphors mixed up, so who really knows. She adores her family, and adores her little job at the bakery, making her own pennies to pay for her own things. It's all very exciting and fun, and because she signed up for Saturday shifts, she can go straight out drinking in Diagon Alley on a Saturday night! How perfect is that!? Did I mention she likes drinking? I think I did. I should mention it twice, it's important. HISTORY Mother: Angelique Farah Vance, 50 years old, pureblood. Father: Henry Fredric Vance, 51 years old, pureblood. Siblings: Cora Calliope Vance , 25 years old, Ravenclaw alumni, werewolf. ____ ____ Vance, sister, 17 years old, pureblood. Partners: None. Others: None. The second daughter of a pureblood family, Emmy already had an older sister who was six years old when Em made her debut into the world. She was a loud baby, but her sister loved her, and she was a louder toddler, but Cora still seemed to think the sun shone out of her backside. Emmy looked up to her big sister very much, though she often wondered why Cora was so quiet and gentle. It came naturally to the older girl, whereas Emmy was like a bull in a china shop. A very tiny bull. She became a big sister herself when she was not much more than a year old, and let's just say her new baby sister got a few lumps and bumps thanks to the enthusiastic Emmy. Her dad often said she needed to wear a crash helmet permanently to get her through her days. It's probably not a bad idea, to be fair. She had a happy childhood, and she loved her sisters, though they were all very different, they managed to stay close, and even when Cora went off to Hogwarts they made every effort to keep that bond. Emmy was overly excited to start her own Hogwarts journey, where she was sorted into Gryffindor house along with her soon to be best friend Lily Evans. The girls were dorm mates and Emmy loved having a friend in the bed right next to hers. She made lots of other friends, of course, how could she not with such vibrant confidence? She also had a few people who found her annoying and in your face, but she didn't care about those, it was their loss. She was fond of putting people in their place, especially those who thought because she was like a little doll she could be pushed around. No she could not. In fact, she was more talented at bossing people about than they were, and she proved as much over the years. She joined the school choir, where she was louder than the other singers and got herself noticed for solo parts. She joined the dueling club, where she didn't have to be loud or shove her way to the front, because she just had a natural knack for it, and she also had a go at Quidditch, but she got a bit over zealous, crashed into a tree, fell off her broom and broke her leg. That was the end of that. She was good at Defence Against the Dark Arts, though. Not too bad at Potions, either. She remembers the first time that she was told that brewing potions was a lot like cooking, if you were good at one, you'd be good at the other. She tested this out in the castle kitchens a lot, and discovered that she really enjoyed baking, the house elves being very supportive in her little hobby. She graduated with good grades, though they weren't enough to get her a spectacular career. Her talent at dueling and being a fire cracker with her wand gained her the attention of Dumbledore, who invited her along with her friend Lily to join his secret group, the Order of the Phoenix. She jumped at the chance. How exciting! So there's that, the fighting, and the sneaky stuff, and the taking a stand, which she thoroughly enjoys, and then there's the day job that she got herself, baking yummy goods at the bakery in Diagon Alley. She enjoys that, too, and uses it as an opportunity to get herself custom aprons that sing and flash and have pictures of cats on them, amongst other fun things. She lives with her big sister Cora, and loves it, and the two girls have plans to get a bigger place when their baby sister graduates in the summer, so that all three of them can live together.
