bellatrix druella lestrange
PERSONALITY Boggart: The Dark Lord turning against her, telling her she is not good enough to serve him, to stand by his side. Bringing disappointment to him would fill her with horror. Mirror of Erised: Herself married to the Dark Lord, bearing his child, the most important and beloved person in his world. Powerful, beautiful, irreplacable. Patronus: Cobra - Bellatrix cannot produce a patronus, but if she could, her happy memory would be standing before the Dark Lord and receiving her Dark Mark. Or any time she was in the Dark Lord's presence, really, since it's the only time she's ever happy. These days Bellatrix is unhinged at best. What started off as brilliance in her youth has become a little spark of insanity, genius exchanged for a growing madness that she blames fully on her husband. Her hatred of him and of what he has caused her to become is the main driving force behind her actions recently. Loathing and anger take up most of her time, as well as disappointment. She's very much the person who will hold a grudge, the person who will get revenge even if it's decades later. She is spiteful, vindictive, malicious and reckless, and she does not care for many in her world at all. The one person she cares most about is the Dark Lord, and it is to him that she dedicated all of her good qualities. He gets her loyalty, her concern, her drive to be the best. He gets the duelist, the genius and the lover in her, though he does not return any of her feelings. She lives in hope that one day that will change if she continues to devote herself to him above all else. You see, when it matters to her, Bellatrix cares more deeply than most, she cares so much that it drives her insane, drives her to do stupid things in order to make people feel just a fraction of the hurt they have caused her. Her way of dealing with her feelings is to show them completely initially, and if they are rejected, to hate forever and with great vigour. She is all or nothing, black and white and no inbetween. HISTORY Mother: Druella Rosier, pureblood. Father: Cygnus Black, pureblood. Siblings: Andromeda Tonks, embarrassment. Narcissa Malfoy, barren idiot. Partners: Rodolphus Lestrange, arsehole. Others: Aurora Roselyn Lestrange, 6 years old, daughter, nuisance. Ted Tonks, brother-in-law, scum of the earth. Nymphadora Tonks, niece, shouldn't exist. Lucius Malfoy, brother-in-law, pansy. Rabastan Lestrange, brother-in-law, waste of space. Bellatrix was born a week early, due on Christmas day as the first born child of the powerful and noble Black family, she came as a shock not only because she was early and unexpected, but because she was a girl. She was a disappointment to her father from the minute she took her first breath, and would spend her days trying to make up for that. Her mother tries to keep her under control when she was a toddler, but once Bellatrix found her feet she proved to be quite the whirlwind. Full of energy and quick as a whip when it came to learning things, she was hard to keep a leash on, though somehow her mother managed to keep her from under her father's feet. Two sisters followed her, and Bellatrix became the person to set an example. Ha. What a notion! Her mother hired the best tutors to teach her and her sisters how to be proper ladies, they were taught pureblood etiquette and manners, and groomed into fine young ladies, though Bella's wild streak was always evident. She began to pride herself on being the best, on being highly intelligent and on being one of the most influential pureblood ladies in the world of the elite. She knew her standing and she adored it. And in her spare time when backs were turned, she gave in to her rebellious side and allowed herself the fun her teachings had forbidden. She attended Hogwarts as a Slytherin, and was instantly popular just because of her name. Girls followed her without question, and looked to her as an example, as did her sisters, and Bella enjoyed the power that went along with it. She indulged in boys and girls alike, and she walked all over anyone she fancied because she would be forgiven, she would be allowed to, nobody would dare question Bellatrix Black or they would answer to her father. Her cruel streak began to bloom, too, especially when it came to having to share a home with mudbloods and half bloods. The castle was overrun with them, and Bella hated it. They didn't deserve to be eating at the same table as herself and her peers, let alone breathing the same air. She flourished in defence against the dark arts, and in her own time, learning the dark arts themselves, an interest she shared with quite a few of her friendship circle. She blossomed as a duelist, and found she quite enjoyed toying with knives and other sharp objects, too. Violence became an obsession of hers, and she was good at it. So it only made sense that after graduation she joined those like minded friends in becoming a Death Eater. This man, this Lord Voldemort, he was not what she had expected. Handsome and dangerous and enigmatic. She had expected a psychotic tyrant, but no. He was much more than that, and she was impressed. She was more than impressed, she was obsessed. Daydreams of working her way up the ranks to stand at his side began to form daily in her head, alongside fantasies of wedding him and certainly bedding him, something she would never turn down. The only trouble with that ambition was that her parents had arranged a marriage between herself and one of her childhood friends, Rodolphus Lestrange. Friend he might have been, but she did not want to marry him. She wanted to marry the Dark Lord and bear his children, not some arrogant, unattractive womaniser that her parents had chosen. Of course she had known it was coming, but the shock of having to go through with it was still hard to deal with. She married Rodolphus with much disdain in her heart, and his family's riches could not soothe that. It took her a whole three years to fall pregnant with his child. It was her duty to provide him an heir, that was what was expected of all pureblood women, but Bella was reluctant. Yes, they had their fun, and he was good in bed, and his dark streak matched hers well enough, but he still wasn't what she wanted. All the killing and depraved sex in the world couldn't change that. She resented him for being the man she was forced to marry, and she resented him even more for not being so grateful to have married into the noble house of Black that he fell on his knees and sobbed with happiness when she gave him a child. That did not happen, and the only thing that came from their daughter being born was that he now resented her as much as she did him. Aurora Lestrange was born into a family that hated each other. And a mother that hated her. Every time Bella loked at her daughter's face, all she could see was Rodolphus. The dark hair, the dark eyes, she was a Lestrange through and through, and it made Bellatrix sick to her stomach. Rodolphus demanded another child, wanting that heir he cared so much about. Well, he could go and fuck a duck because she would not be going through the horror of child birth another time just to try and give him what he wanted. What about what she wanted? Hmm? What about her life with the Dark Lord? What about his heirs, the ones that would have blue eyes and strong jaws and power beyond power? Nobody cared about that, did they!? Anger and hatred and bitterness soon swallowed her whole as she watched her husband adore their daughter, still demanding a son in private moments. If he loved Aurora so much, then he could have her and be happy with that. Bella didn't care for either of them, and she distanced herself as much as possible. There was a house elf and servants to care for the child while Rodolphus was at work, and Bellatrix threw herself even harder into serving the Dark Lord, desperation fueling her. Was there still a chance he could love her even though she had a child with another? Maybe if she worked hard enough to show him that he was everything to her, maybe he'd see... Her sanity began to slowly slip away as she delved deeper and deeper into trying to fix her broken life, and chasing a dream that would never come to fruition. Now she is 28 years old, mother of a six year old brat that she can't stand the sight of, and her husband has filed for divorce thanks to her stubborn refusal to give him a son. Would the Dark Lord marry a divorced woman? Maybe she could convince him to Kill Rodolphus before the divorce could go through. Marrying a widow would be a much simpler thing to accept. Maybe she could kill Aurora, too, then she'd have a clean slate and could pretend the last ten years of her personal life never happened...
