Katherine Marie Campbell
PERSONALITY Boggart: Kitty's Boggart would be the body of her twin sister, reanimated and crying from loneliness. Mirror of Erised: Herself on stage, happy in the limelight. Patronus: Horse - Her happiest memory is of the morning of her ninth birthday when she and her entire family were spending a week pony trekking over the Highlands. She well remembers the sheer beauty of the scenery. Quite simply, Kitty is a complete and utter sweetheart, which is probably how she acquired her nickname. She's the best friend that anyone could ever wish for; kind, generous, bubbly and outgoing. She's definitely a people person, although of course she is a horse person as well. Although she is a very confident person on the surface, she has always secretly been lacking in belief in herself and her abilities, and coming to Hogwarts made her very nervous since she is and always has been inward,y paranoid that she will not be as good as everyone else. She is a big worrier, being somewhat highly strung, and needs someone more down to earth to calm her down at times. She has a very happy demeanour generally; she walks with a spring in her step and always seems to be just on the point of breaking into song, although she very rarely actually does this because her voice is atrocious. Also, she is very prone to hugging and kissing her friends of both sexes- and blushing, whenever a boy so much as looks at her speculatively. HISTORY Mother: Alastair Campbell, 48, Gryffindor, blood etc. Father: Mary Brown, 46, Muggle Siblings: Lucy Isobel Campbell, deceased. Partners: None Others: None Kitty was born as half of a set of twins in the town of Portree, on the Isle of Skye in the Inner Hebrides. Her mother owned a prominent racing stable, whilst her father ran a riding school for beginners. Despite the fact that her father was a wizard, Kitty grew up completely unaware of the existence of the magical world, and she put the strange things which happened to her and her sister from time to time down to coincidence. Lucy, on the other hand, was more inclined to put it down to fairies or elves- although she had to be careful when talking of such things around her father, who would invariably tell her not to talk such nonsense. And admittedly, such things as the reappearance of much-missed toys or the disappearance of much-hated vegetables could easily be explained away. As the pair grew up, the incidents became less frequent, and by the time that the girls turned nine, they had all but ceased. The pair attended school in Portree- despite all Lucy's efforts to avoid doing so- until they were ten, and were both considered to be exceedingly nice girls, if somewhat lacking in intelligence. Still, Kitty made up for it with plenty of common sense, while Lucy made up for it by being the most hilarious preteen ever known to mankind. And they were happy with their lives, devoted to one another. Until the week after their tenth birthday, when the family was abroad in Spain. Alastair awoke at three o'clock in the morning to the smell of smoke, and opened his bedroom door to find a blaze almost consuming the hallway. Even so, he was about to dive into the flames to attempt to rescue his daughters when his more level-headed wife dragged him out via the window, and they went around the outside of the building towards the window of the girls' room. They found Kitty already outside and apparently unharmed, but her face was streaked with tears and she told them that her sister wouldn't wake up. One look at the billows of smoke emanating from the window told them that it was hopeless. Kitty was inconsolable. Her sister and she had always been inseparable, and she found it nearly impossible to realise that she would never see Lucy again. The stress of this period brought on a condition of nocturnal enuresis, which she has never been able to rid herself of since, and a hard knock to her confidence. So much so that, when her Hogwarts letter arrived on her eleventh birthday, she didn't really think that she was good enough to go, and this, together with the fact that her father didn't think it was safe enough for her to go, nearly meant that she didn't. It was her Muggle mother who finally persuaded her that she needed to go and take advantage of her heritage. And much to her own surprise, Kitty found that she loved it. There were so many new people, and, more excitingly, magic! Kitty was not especially talented, but she persevered, and found that magic quite suited her.
