Order of the phoenix application
Connection to the Order: James proved himself to be a natural born leader while in Hogwarts both on the Quidditch pitch and amongst his friends; easily gaining not only trust but loyalty as well. Although he may have left much to be desired in his youth as far as his treatment of certain students, he easily demonstrated his willingness to risk his own life to protect even his most hated of enemies from certain death. When it came to academics, James was able to pass by all his classes with little to no effort; consistently scoring near the top of his class. These were reflected in not only his OWL results but his NEWTs as well; seeing how he had been accepted into the Auror training academy. He’s also proven (though only known to a select few) the dedication and determination he has when he actually puts his mind into his studies (please read that as becoming an illegal animagus with only 3 years of self teaching).
Useful Skills:He's an exceptional duelist and pretty darn good at potions too if he does say so himself (have YOU made a potion to be an Animagus? it's hard) Is great at making distractions (prankster at heart), and two lesser known facts about his invisibility cloak and the fact he's an illegal animagus ((stag)) so he can hide easily.
Useful Affiliations: Um, filthy stinking rich, so can help fund things? training to be an Auror so inside information? no one really looks twice at a new hire for anything, so it'll be easier to get around without noticed.
Why join the Order of the Phoenix? There’s a reason the Potter’s are not part of the Sacred 28, even though they are a Pureblood family. James’ grandfather was very well known for speaking for Muggle rights and protection and aiding in them in whatever way possible. And while James may not have known his grandfather personally, the values he had were passed down to him. He’s stood up for many muggleborns while in school against those that would try to harm them. But it's not just limited to muggleborns. James sees people rather than blood statuses or inflictions. When he found out about Remus in his second year, his first thought was to find a way to join Remus and try to make his monthly transformations easier. He’s never once shunned him for being a werewolf and doesn’t see it as anything other than Remus having a ‘furry little problem’. Also, James is currently engaged to a muggleborn. He’ll be the first one to tell anyone that she could probably knock him on his arse if they ever got into a duel. And not because he went easy on her. Magic and skill have nothing to do with the so called purity of blood. James honestly can’t understand why some people are just so… adamant about blood purity.
