Boggart: Losing his legs. Figuratively and literally. He can't think of anything worse than having his legs chopped off, and imagine not being able to travel!
Mirror of Erised: A beautiful wife by his side to share his adventures with. He'd like the company.
Patronus: Caribou - Taking the form of a super migrating animal, Desi's patronus is large and in charge, clomping about while he thinks about his adventures travelling the world. It's great for Christmas party tricks, sending a reindeer cantering down the streets.

Raised by a wealthy pureblood family, with pureblood views and pureblood ways, Des never knew any different, though he wasn't too interested in it all. He was the eldest, the heir, his young mother providing her ten years senior husband with a longed for son right off the bat. A few years later another son arrived, little Barney being a wonderful spare. It was all very proper, though Des still cared for none of it. He was always too busy playing outside in the gardens. Digging holes, making dens in the trees, and eventually becoming obsessed with mapping out trails and other aspects of the garden. He would make the best treasure hunt maps for Barney, and then their baby sister Aura would join in once she was old enough. They would spend hours having fun together, and his map making obsession would stay with him well into adulthood.

Des was sorted into Ravenclaw when he went to Hogwarts, which was acceptable, according to his father. A relief, though Des still didn't quite get the fuss over Slytherin. He did make good friends there, though. He made friends in every house, really, though his parents kept an eye out to make sure they were the right sort. Well, he didn't have to tell them about everyone he hung out with around the castle, did he? Anyway, he formed bonds with "the right sort", but only the ones he actually liked and got along with. A bit of a pale weed at first, it took him a few years to grow into himself, and by his fifth year, Des was a real cutie. He shot up and got a tan over the summer, then went back to school and found girls suddenly giving him flirty smiles and giggling when he told jokes. It was weird and awesome.

After leaving Hogwarts, Des already had his life mapped out, no pun intended. Cartography was and always had been his passion, and his intelligence during his school years enabled him to secure his dream job. He worked for someone else for a few years until he found his feet, then his father funded Des starting his own cartography company, hiring others to work for him, too. It's a dream come true, but honestly, Des doesn't care who works for him or what they're doing as long as he gets to travel and map out the lesser known corners of the magical world. His job is always exciting and takes him to some incredible places that most of his friends have never heard of. He's away from home a lot, but he always comes back to his family. His passion is travelling, but his heart is at home wherever he goes.
