Boggart: Losing her mum and dad. They're both in open coffins, clearly deceased. When her mum nearly died after having her younger brother, Delilah was silently beside herself with fear, trying not to think the worst but internally planning her mothers funeral. She didn't speak her fears to her siblings, in fact she actively tried to quash them so she could be strong for her siblings, but it was the most terrifying time of her life, and this is a woman with a history of scary adventures. Mirror of Erised: Delilah loves to travel but she would quite like a companion she could trust. This person in her vision is her soul mate, the one person in the world that gets her like no other. Patronus: Delilah cannot produce a patronus but her happiest memories are always at Christmas with her family, and travelling the world, seeing new sights, facing new experiences, both the good and the bad. “If it takes us ten children to have two sons then so be it.” - Margot Clovellington on her self-imposed duty to give her husband two sons, the classic heir and a spare. Margot and Edwin Clovellington were a couple madly in love but bound by tradition. Margot, the descendent of both French and German wizarding royalty was courted by a prince, well as princely as they come in the wizarding world. He was from one of the proudest, most deeply respected families in the world, a son of Sweden with wealth beyond comprehension, but their love story was not to be for Margot fell in love with an exceptionally wealthy English wizard by the name of Edwin Clovellington. He was brash, crude, and didn’t stand on formalities. He made Margot blush and laugh and the pair were soon in love, and not long after engaged and then married. The romance was fast but their love has been going strong ever since. Their marriage was built on a strong bond, one of friendship, albeit a quick one, but it was sturdy. The pair moved to the English country side where the lived in a quaint castle and had a measly staff of four. The soon grew to seven by the time their children came along, although with 24 year age gap between the eldest and the youngest, there was a fair turnover of staff, only Mrs Davies was there from. the get go, before even the first child was conceived. Delilah was the fourth child, born on a chilly winter’s evening by a roaring fire place she left her mother crippled in pain, breaking her way into the world before even the healer was able to attend, luckily she was perfectly healthy and her mother was cared for by her staff until the healer arrived. She was quite the content child, quite affectionate in her ways but rarely ever demanding attention, just always accepting, and glad of it, when it was offered. When Lilah was eleven she was off to Hogwarts, sorted into Hufflepuff without much hesitation from the sorting hat. Her older siblings had all gone to Hogwarts and reported back that it was an amazing place, a castle like home only it had an older feel and far more rooms. It was an exceptionally large castle, able to accomodate more students than it did, but Lilah didn’t care about the size, not it’s vastness at least, she preferred the cozy Hufflepuff common room, she was drawn to the warm fires and the big arm chair that she could just sink into. Hufflepuff was the perfect house Lilah was comforted often by her peers, and just the common room in general, whenever she had bouts of homesickness. Lilah wasn’t much for sports at Hogwarts but she went to just about every quidditch match and cheered on Hufflepuff, or Gryffindor, or Ravenclaw. Just about every house so long as it wasn’t Slytherin. She’d had a few run ins in her early years that left her with a rather bitter taste in her mouth when it came to dealing with the snakes, and while one might think it prudent to move on and ignore such jibes, Lilah was unable to let go, she was exceptionally stubborn at times and never forgot a face or name of a bully, bad memories really stuck with her and she was not as forgiving as many of her house mates, although she suffered forgetfulness, but that didn’t mean forgiveness, oh goodness no! If she was mad at you, she’d decide how long she’d be made for and then after that time had passed, she’d probably act more civilly towards you, only she rarely remembered just what it was she was made about, she just recalled feelings more than actual events. After Hogwarts Delilah still wasn’t sure what she wanted to do with her life. Her grades were quite good and she was confident that she would get into any job she wished, and honestly, her parents’ money would certainly have helped lubricate the wheels, but she was just too indecisive so she travelled the world for a while and had many adventures. She came face to face with a blood-thirsty vampire in the midst of a winter night in Norway. She was chased for three days straight before she shook him off. She encountered a rare and spectacularly beautiful phoenix in the middle of Egypt when she got separated from a tour group in the desert after a sand storm. She was chased by a werewolf in Greece but managed to escape with the tiniest little scratch. The following day she went back and near to where she’d been scratched was the nicest woman she’d ever met in her life. She was living a cursed life and didn’t even know it, she’d just thought she was a sleep walker! Delilah loved travelling the world but eventually she was called home by a strong pulling sensation in her chest, she calls it homesickness but really it was much more than that, it was a primal urge, a driven need to have to return, and she was glad she did. Her mother nearly died giving birth to her her youngest brother. The family all gathered around until, three days later, they were given the news that their mother wold be fine. It had been incredibly touch and go but their family was still going strong. Luckily her mother was done having children, feeling she had fulfilled her wifely duty of giving her husband two heirs, not that either of them were favourable towards the boys over the girls, all the children were treated equally and, even for quite a large family, they loved one another, squabbles and all. Delilah went on to find herself a career with writing. She wrote children’s books about her adventures for all ages in the hopes of inspiring tolerance and a love of adventure in the young minds. She travels across the world in search of new adventures multiple times a year, and her first stop when she’s back home is always to her parents, or at least it used to be up until November of 1980. It was a scandal that shocked the high class purebloods of France and Europe, Delilah uncles, Mikkel and Martel were in a tragic boating incident with their families. No one’s quite sure of what happened and Delilah has only been told that there was a fire and an explosion that killed everyone. They were supposed to have been on that boat, celebrating her uncle Mikkel’s newest fortune, but her mother had been unwell and no-one wanted to go if mamma was not there so the entire Clovellington family had been absent, something that the authorities had looked into. Dahlia felt like a suspect at first, and the investigations are still on going, but the Clovellington’s seem to be in the clear of any suspected foul play. Now Delilah’s mother and father have travelled back to the main family home in Germany to sort the affairs of their brothers and Delilah’s mother, somehow, has become the richest woman in the world, the fortune of her brother’s is now hers as well as her own money and while she’s in Germany, Margot has no intents to return the the UK, at least not any time soon, meaning that for the first time ever, the Clovellington clan are divided for more than just holidays over seas, although Delilah and her siblings all plan on travelling to Germany over the Christmas season, Delilah can’t imagine not spending the holiday season without her mother and father, and even her little siblings, as irritating as they can be at times.
