Order of the phoenix application
Connection to the Order: Lily displayed a great deal of intelligence and aptitude across a wide range of her subjects during her Hogwarts years and as such, she quickly came to the attention of the school's senior leadership. Her OWL results were exceptional and her NEWT results more so, and it was apparent that she was a very talented witch. This being so, and her Muggleborn status adding weight to her professed antipathy to the Death Eater movement, she was invited upon leaving Hogwarts to join the Order by her old headmaster. Lily's high regard for Professor Dumbledore and the fact that her boyfriend was also issued an invitation meant that she never had to think twice.
Useful Skills: Lily is a skilled and talented duellist, and also has a great deal of knowledge on Healing due to her profession which could be of use to Order members sustaining injuries in the course of their work.

Why join the Order of the Phoenix? Lily is a Muggleborn witch who has suffered discrimination because of it, which inclines her against blood purists to begin with. She also blames the Death Eaters for the end of her friendship with Severus, since she believes that had he not fallen in with their aspiring members, he could have been a much better person and they would probably still be friends. While not a pacifist, Lily is against cruelty and violence, especially when its victims have done nothing wrong and have no way of defending themselves, and so she holds the Death Eaters in total contempt and hates them for what they do and their sickening beliefs. She sees it as being her duty to protect other Muggleborns by any means which present themselves, and especially to protect her family. Also, she wants to support her friends and acquaintances in the Order, and would feel desperately guilty remaining on the outside while they were doing their part, fighting for the rights, freedom and lives of Muggles and Muggleborns whom Lily has a closer connection to than most of them. She is an intensely moral person and would never be able to stand by while other people were suffering.
