Mirror of Erised: A life of freedom and travel, and eventually true love. Patronus: When she found out her fiancé had died. Does that make her a bad person? Maybe a little. Nieva was the second child of Ruth and Oskar Wilkes. She was born three years after her brother and he was an absolute bully. She despised him growing up, he would always push her around, steal her toys, pull her hair. Once he locked her in a shed and she spent two days there cold and alone while the rest of the family searched for her. She was only four and he was seven but he was never punished. He was the precious son, their only heir, and while they cared for Nieva, it was always apparent just who came first, and it was not her. When it came time to go to Hogwarts Nieva, much to everyone's surprise, was sorted into Gryffindor. She was such a timid little creature, how could she possible thrive in a loud, boisterous house full of thrill seekers? It turned out the Gryffindor was a good match for her. Nieva never had to put up with her brother who was in Slytherin, she saw him occasionally, and he would try every now and then to cause her trouble in the great hall, but on the whole she rarely had to deal with him. Hogwarts was easiest the best time of her life. She worked hard and surpassed her classmates in a range of subjects, but by far she was most talented in Defence Against the Dark Arts. It was her favourite subject and she joined the duelling club, securing the position of Captain in her fourth year, Prefect in her fifth year and Head Girl in her seventh year. After doing remarkably well at Hogwarts, Nieva found herself in the Ministry, working towards becoming a Hit Witch. She passed the training year with flying colours and was offered a place in the Auror training program but she declined. She enjoys her work in the Ministry, although her views on the Death Eaters have been questionable. She always supported the magical world becoming more prominent, no longer hiding, however the way the ministry has gone about it, and condemned muggles and muggle borns leaves her feeling a little unsettled. She knows that all things come at a cost, but this seems almost too much. However she has gained more than she could have hoped. When she was 23 her parents introduced her to Langdon Rutland and told she would be marrying him come the end of summer. She protested but it was no use, she knew it was her place to marry but he was a foul man, at least ten years her senior and he always smelt of stale sweat and spilt ale. When he died in an attack on Hogsmeade, Nieva was silently overjoyed, although her parents told her she would be married off but it 's been three years and so far no one has come forward to take her hand. Nieva believes their family ties to the Parkinsons has put many people off, not wanting to be closely associated with that family has given Nieva some freedom, although she wants to fall in love the old fashioned way. Deep down she's a romantic at heart and dreams of starting a family of her own someday with a man she loves. OOC Play By: Susan Coffey Your Alias: Coco!
