"Hey, I'm Vega. Not with a 'b'. You pronounce it as it's written. Some kid once misheard and thought my name was Bagel, that was awkward. Anyway, I'm a pureblood, not that it matters. My family is average sized, I have two brothers and a sister, all older than me, I'm the youngest. We grew up in a nice house with enough money to afford nice things. My mum and dad work hard, I'm no spoiled brat. Being the youngest meant I got less attention because my parents were split four ways at that point, but it was fine, I just buried myself in books. My eldest brother taught me to read pretty early and that was my main form of entertainment. My mum calls me her little star because I pick things up easily.

I was the last to go to Hogwarts, and I was sorted into Slytherin. Dad says it's because I keep my thoughts and feelings to myself, at least the ones that count. I'm fine telling people how it is, but when it comes to the important stuff, I run deeper than the ocean and it's hard to reach the real me. I'm also pretty ambitious when it comes to scholarly pursuits. Yeah, I just said scholarly pursuits, shut up. So, I've always loved the night sky, watching the stars, studying planets and wondering what's out there. It's fascinating, and I could talk about it all day but I won't. I just know that I want to be an astronomer when I graduate. I've got the smarts and the enthusiasm, and I will make it happen. My friends sometimes wind me up about it, calling me star boy and other stupid things, but I can take it. I have a sense of humour, and I certainly give it back, but nothing will sway me.

I joined the Quidditch team last year as a chaser, which is fun. The girls seem to like it, not that I struggle in that department, and it keeps me fit, instead of just sitting around with my nose in books. I'm also on the chess team, and I'm trying to get together an astronomy club, but it's still early, I'm gonna work something out with my professor. And then take her job one day. Hahaha. I'm not even kidding. Maybe I'll make a name for myself first, write a few mind-blowing books about my studies and discoveries. Then take her job. I've got two more years until graduation, so I'm keeping my plans close to my chest, but it's gonna happen. Watch this space. Hahaha."
