Luella "Lulu" Lightowler was born to a dirt poor couple. Her father was a drunk that never amounted to anything and drank away his earnings while her mum was no better, getting drunk when she pleased and leaving for days at a time with strange men. Lulu didn't really have much of a home life but thankfully she was an only child, one that was primarily looked after by the neighbours, one of whom worked for Gladrags as a seamstress. Her role was nothing special or notable, but she taught Lulu to sew the magical and muggle way so she could create pieces of clothing and wouldn't have to rely on the overprices rack pieces, she could instead make her own clothing with ease.

Lulu went to Hogwarts when she was 11, just like all the other magical kids. She was sorted into Hufflepuff where she made friends pretty quickly with her dormmates. School was a bit of a challenge but nothing that Lulu couldn't get through. She passed all her subjects with respectable grades, apart from History of Magic. She should never have bloody bothered with that one. Totally snoozefest. Still she used her time at Hogwarts to practice making clothes. She would sell what she made to other students and just buy more material to make things. She loved being creative, even if some of her pieces were a little odd.

After Hogwarts Lulu got a job in a bar, moved out of home and has had nothing to do with either of her parents. She wanted to get a job at Gladrags but they weren't hiring, and not many clothing stores wanted her. She was a little grunge looking and they wanted lovely, well kept women. Well despite wanting a job in a clothing store, Lulu didn't want to compromise who she was, so she worked to keep a roof over her head and to buy fabric. She started making clothes and she set up a little stall in Diagon Alley to sell her goods. She has a bit of money saved and hopes to soon rent a shop to sell her goods, but she's not sure where she'd go because anywhere good is way too expensive and she doubts that she could do well enough to keep that going.
