He can't speak, he can't shout, and he definitely can't sing. Mirror of Erised: His father's shop has branched out across the world, everyone going to their local Dominic Maestros for all of their musical needs. Patronus: Song Thrush - Dom's happiest memory is the day he got his first guitar. He used to play his dads when he was just learning, but on his ninth birthday, his dad gifted him a beautiful custom made acoustic guitar, engraved with Dom's name. He still has it and treasures it to this day. At twenty four years old, Dominic Maestro and his lovely wife Beth welcomed their first child into the world. A son, who they named after him. The couple owned a relatively new music shop in the heart of Hogsmeade, selling musical instruments and records, sheet music and other bits and bobs. They weren't doing amazing just yet, but that would change over time, and little Dom Jr would have something wonderful to inherit once he was grown. A good kid in his dad's eyes, Dom could be a little bit mischievous, enjoying jokes and tricks, finding humour in most things. He was a charmer, a bit cheeky, but a lovely lad to everyone he met. He was popular around the village, making friends with the other kids who lived in the area, he never lacked something to do, or someone to spend time with. When he was six years old he became a big brother, his baby sister Nora making an appearance and changing everything. He was still the apple of his dad's eye, but now Dom had to share his mum's attention, and she sang to Nora more than she sang to him now. It was okay because Dom could sing, too. He had been gifted with his dad's musical talents, and he would join in singing to his baby sister, or tinkle a sweet tune on the piano in the living room to soothe her if she was crying. He was a good brother, even if he did put mashed potato on her head like a hat at the dinner table, and cut her dolls hair to make them look cooler. At Hogwarts Dom shone. He loved the sheer amount of kids there that he could befriend and get to know! The hat put him in Gryffindor, and it was by far the right choice for this confident, popular lad. His head full of dark curls got the attention of girls, and he had his first kiss quite early compared to his mates. He was early with most things, actually, his charm getting him a lot of perks. He was a clever lad, doing well in subjects such as Charms and Astronomy, different and delicate subjects appealed to him, and he was the star of the Frog Choir, getting put at the front of most performances and singing his charismatic heart out, stealing the show. His parents were really proud; he was going to go far in life, they were sure of it. He graduated with nice grades, respectable grades, and an abundance of friends that he couldn't find time for once he had to get a job and have an actual adult life. Of course, he did find time, as much as he possibly could. He also managed to squeeze in as much time with the ladies as he could manage, ever popular thanks to his musical talents and that hair. And those eyes. And that cheeky smile. And that cheeky attitude. And the chilled vibes he gave off. And the confidence. Okay, he was basically just the whole package. He got a break with an agent at the age of nineteen, and was thrust into a music career that he wasn't entirely ready for. It required a lot of time and commitment, and after releasing two albums back to back, Dom was exhausted. He hardly got to see his family, and he was missing home. Well, he got to go home, didn't he. When he was twenty two his dad had a heart attack and died, leaving the music shop with nobody to run it. Dom had to go home for the funeral and to spend time with his mum and sister, and then he found himself not really being able to leave. His mum begged him to carry on the shop, to make sure it survived as it was all his dad had ever wanted. Dom couldn't say no. He took a break from his career and jumped into shop life, breathing new life into the music shop. He set up a stage in one corner of the crooked room where he holds Friday night jamming sessions. Anyone can pop in and play a tune, or just sit and listen with a cup of coffee - no alcohol allowed, no drunks are gonna be smashing up his shop, thank you very much - and Dom himself usually gets up and has a bit of fun, too. It's a different pace for him, and a big change to the life he was living, the life he was headed for, and he knows he can still pursue a music career, but part of him is just content to run the shop for now, and have a bit of peace.
