Order of the Phoenix
Quentin Jacob Kowalski
PERSONALITY Boggart: Quentin would joke and say that it was Sasha beating him at a foot race but in actuality it would be his mom standing with Grindlewald. Mirror of Erised: Himself standing in front of a large trophy cabinet, full of trophies and awards for everything from Ministry Employee of the year, to Quidditch Player of the Century, to Witch Weekly's Most Handsome Wizard of 1999. Patronus: Granian Winged Horse - Graduating from the Hit Wizard training program and becoming a fledged Hit Wizard. Quentin was born seven minutes before his twin sister, Sasha and since that moment he has made everything into a competition of which he almost always wins. Its always done with a fun spirit and Q is more than able to rein himself in if need be. He can read a room like no other, which is a particularly useful skill when it comes to his work as a Hit Wizard – of which he believes himself to be the best. His confidence and challenging attitude lend towards a loud personality. In school, Q was often being scolded for disrupting lessons, typically because what he thought was asking a simple question was in actuality perceived as arguing. But honestly, sometimes he knew better than the professor! Or, he truly believed he did at the time. As an adult he can look back on his headstrong teenage self with some humility and a bit of pity, although not too much pity because Q is obviously brilliant. Romantic relationships have never interested Quentin in the traditional sense. He would not consider himself a player but the longest relationship he’d ever been in was possibly only a few months and that was simply because he forgot to tell the girl he thought he was sleeping with casually that he was, well, sleeping with her casually. Quentin is the sort of guy who has a rotation of ladies; its casual and fun and exhausting in a good way but there are very few real feelings. This doesn’t mean he is opposed to the idea of one day settling down, he just doesn’t see that happening for him in the near future. HISTORY Mother: Queenie Kowalski nee Goldstein, 76, pureblood, Ilvermorny Alumna Father: Jacob Kowalski, 80, muggle Siblings: Sasha Karina Kowalski , twin sister, 24, Hufflepuff, halfblood Ava Aleksandria Kowalski , little sister, 17, Gryfindor, halfblood Partners: Several previously, none currently Others: Christopher Erebus Devereaux , best mate, basically brothers, needs to get laid Uncle Newt and Auntie Tina Scamander, gets laid far too often, seriously, how many cousins does a bloke need?! 36, Rowan Scamander, cousin, half-blood 31, Auburn Scamander, cousin, half-blood 28, Basil Scamander, couisn, half-blood 22, Juniper Scamander, cousin, half-blood 5th Heath Jarred Scamander , cousin, half-blood The eldest of three siblings, Quentin was born to a happy mixed family. Not only was his dad a muggle, both his mom and dad are American which meant there were some obvious differences between his family and his friends’ families. For one, his accent sounded ‘funny’ to those kids in the neighborhood who had grown up with English parents, and his dad knowing so much about the ins and outs of the magical world despite never having held a wand made for all sorts of questions from his friends. Not to mention, his mom was a natural Legilimens, which meant he could never get away with lying about who really broke the kitchen window while playing quidditch in the back garden or why there was jam on his face after one of his dad’s pastries had mysteriously gone missing from the bakery shop display. But it wasn’t all bad, as Quentin had inherited his mother’s gift, so he was able to turn the tables on her when she tried to say that the only reason he couldn’t buy a bag of sweets was because all the shops were closed in the middle of the day. He really got on well with his mom, and one wouldn’t be far off to call him a mama’s boy. When Quentin and Sasha went off to Hogwarts, Q was feeling all sorts of emotions. He could sense that his mom was apprehensive about their leaving even if she never said as much outwardly, which in turn made him nervous about being so far from them. But he was also excited, having heard from his Uncle Newt all the exciting tales about what he would come to encounter at Hogwarts – this of course led to the recurring debate between his mom and auntie, and his uncle Newt in which wizarding school was the better one; Hogwarts or Ilvernmorny. Auntie Tina assured Quentin that Hogwarts was just fine and he would have plenty of cousins there to spend time with should he need company. It turned out that making friends at Hogwarts was even easier that finding a Scamander in a haystack. On the train to the school, before ever setting eyes of the magnificent castle that would be his second home for the next seven years, Q met a boy named Kit and they hit it off splendidly. Like his new friend, Quentin was sorted into Ravenclaw and for the first time in his life he felt separated from his twin sister who had been sorted into Hufflepuff. Quentin was a good student, though he did have a habit of arguing with the professors which caused him to lose house points more often than he would have liked, but he kept his grades up and joined loads of clubs. He made the Quidditch team in his fourth year and remained on the team for the rest of his time in school, not to mention the Dueling Club, Divination Club, and the Toad Choir. Quentin has a marvelous singing voice. After school, Q was recruited into the Hit Wizard training program, and after completing his courses he became a full-fledged Hit Wizard. One of the best, if you asked him. He always makes time for leisure and family but is extremely devoted to his work, so much so that when corruption in the Ministry began to be apparent, Q joined his old Headmaster in the Order of the Phoenix to ensure right prevailed, even if it wasn’t exactly legal.
