 I will be chasing the starlight until the end of my life Atti seemed pretty sure of his prediction, and Killian settled back with a plate of food to find out if he was right. But also to think about why his uncle would think the girl would go for the best mate. Had one of Atti's girlfriends fooled around with Rom back in the day? Or even juicier, had Atti fooled around with Rom's wife at one point? Nah. Rom and Leila were tight, it couldn't have been her. Maybe whoever had come before her. Atti was happy sitting back and eating his Chinese while enjoying the movie. His mind followed the plot while looking for any clues in the background, he loved not knowing what was coming but trying to figure it out anyway. Perhaps he should have been an auror like Brax, but then again, that was all too serious for Atti's tastes, he liked leaving his fine detective skills to the movies and shows that he occasionally watched and Tom Crows movies never failed to entertain.

I will be chasing the starlight until the end of my life They got almost halfway through the movie before Killian's mouth got the better of him. He couldn't help it. He'd been wondering for about half an hour about the whole Rom and Leila thing, and he just had to know. He put his empty plate down on the coffee table and tapped his fingers on the arm of the couch, trying his best to hold it in, but eventually it blurted out on its own. "Have you ever slept with Leila?" The cheese was awesome, the movie was good and Atti was fully focused on what was happening on the screen and not what was going on around him. He'd scooped up a mouthful of fried rice and was chewing away thoughtfully as he watched the movie unfold and Killian asked his unexpected question. Atti spat his rice out in shock and began choking on a little that was wedge in his airway. He coughed it up and stared at Killian, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand, "Mate, what the hell? Give a guy warning next time." Atti gave his wand a wave and the rice he'd spat all across Corona's sparkling clean flaws disappeared and Atti shook his head at Killian, "Never, not ever even thought about it, to be honest. She's Rom's gal, y'know." You didn't sleep with your mates girl, not if you were a decent bloke, and Atti liked to think he was a decent bloke. "What about you and Halley, eh? Ever told her how you feel?" Atti loved his nephew but he needed to grow a pair and tell his best mate how he felt about her, because she clearly wasn't paying attention to what was right in front of her.

I will be chasing the starlight until the end of my life The question had barely left Killian’s mouth when Atticus spat his food out in shock, coughing and choking. A piece of rice landed on Killian’s arm and he flicked it off, staring wide eyed at his uncle. ”Say it, don’t spray it!” Killian felt bad for making his uncle nearly choke to death, but Atti recovered quickly, going on to answer the question in a pretty calm manner. Killian nodded along, not really surprised by the answer, though his cheeks burned red when Atti turned the question on him and asked about Halley. ”What? No! I... She...” Huffing, he ran a hand through this hair, which had dried in a silky mess on top of his head. ”She doesn’t see me like that,” he said quietly. ”It’d ruin our friendship if I made a move, and then I’d have nothing.” The thought of losing Halley completely was what kept him from crossing that line with her. The thought of ruining a friendship was a scary one, Atti could understand that, but he'd never really been in that position, he hadn't ever had that worry so he couldn't accurately offer advice but he was damn well going to say something, because that was what uncles did, "Would it though?" he asked with a hint of scepticism as he though about Halley and Killian as a couple. They already knew so much about one another and she was already practically part of the family. The whole Killian/Halley thing was now the temporary centre of Atti's attention, the movie forgotten for now, "You guys have got such a solid friendship. I reckon it could survive a break up, not that it would ever come to that. She already knows about your posters and your stinky underwear." He laughed, picking up his beer and taking a glug.

He'd die of embarrassment before he'd be able to come up with an answer. No, thank you. It hurt to see the kid so obviously in love but so afraid to do anything about it but Atti would gladly move the conversation on because this was enough relationship talk. Killy would figure out his own way to be happy and Atti would support him in his decisions. "Talk about? Boy, we've got a movie to finish watching." Atti sat back comfortably in his seat with what was left of his Chinese food, "Now how d'you make it go back again?" he asked, wanting to go over the parts they'd missed while talking about women and imaginary relationship troubles.

Killian chuckled and shook his head, taking the remote and rewinding the movie to the last thing he remembered seeing. Atticus was right, they didn't need to be talking about girl trouble or anything else, it was movie night, they had good food, and some of it was still sitting on the table begging to be eaten. Killian topped his plate up and settled back to watch the movie, glad he had Atti around to hang out with. He could have done this with his dad, but it would have been more awkward if they discussed the same topics. His dad would have started making lame jokes or something. "Oi! Bloody cheek." Atti laughed, he'd always let Killian get away with being cheeky because it was never not funny. The movie did that weird fuzzy thing as it went back and Atti finished off his food just as Killian put the movie back on. Atti was throughly stuffed and put his plate down on the coffee table, leaving it for now incase he decided he was going to need a little more topping up before the end of the movie. He'd had a good game of quidditch with the lad earlier, no doubt he needed to make up on some calories, or maybe in the morning he'd find out he'd need to hit the gym to try and shift a few pounds, but for now he was going to over indulge as he sat back, using his wand to summon another couple of beers from the kitchen, and ready to enjoy the rest of the movie, with no more talk of ladies.

 I've been numb, I'm revived can't say I'm not alive Corona couldn't wait to get home. Her feet were aching and she just wanted to have a plate of crackers and a glass of wine with her feet up. She'd been to see Addy but having dinner out was just not the same as curling up on the couch with your husband and kid - and hanger on brother-in-law - and being a slob. Okay, she was never a slob. Her version of being a slob was literally putting her feet on the coffee table and carefully eating her favourite snack so she didn't drop crumbs on the sofa. She couldn't wait to get on with it, anyway, and she let out a huge sigh as she opened the front door and kicked her heels off. "Anybody home?" she bellowed, voice echoing through the entry through the massive mansion. Her call would reach someone eventually and she might even get an answer. She headed straight for the kitchen, determined to get that glass of wine before she did anything else. Cor crinkled her nose, having a good sniff as she entered the room. Had someone been cooking? She could swear it smelled like Chinese. She sniffed again, running a finger over the counter, but it came away clean. "Hmmm." She poured herself a drink and hovered in the kitchen doorway. Killian jumped up off the couch. "Mum's home!" He gave a panicked look at Atti, then grabbed the remote and turned the movie off, pulling the tape out of the machine and throwing it under the couch out of sight. He switched to a sports channel showing golf. Urgh. Killian would rather watch paint dry than watch golf. He didn't have time to look for something else. Corona's voice called out through the house and Atti sat up right, looking as though he'd seen a ghost. Killian shot up of the couch to the point that Atti was kind of envious at his speed. He seemed to have everything under control so Atti sat back and watched Killian panic like a mad man. "Think fast, kid." He said, taking a sip of his beer. Corona might come in and spot them, but Atti wasn't too bothered, she wasn't that scary ... well okay she could be, but it was a great experience for Killian to think on his feet and react quickly.
