PERSONALITY Boggart: Tavvy finding out she's in love with someone else and taking Daphne. Mirror of Erised: It's never going to happen so why bother bringing it up? Patronus: Dolphin - Cordy can't produce a Patronus, but her happiest memories to date are mostly private, however the birth of her daughter is right up there. Cordelia, or Cordy as she's affectionately known, is a bit of a mix of personalities that you would never really think mesh well - but they do! She has a habit of letting her loved ones give her orders. She's happiest when they're happy. She'll give and give but she knows when to put her foot down. She's always sure to make sure that she's okay both mentally and physically, although sometimes it might be a tough call and she needs a little reminding that it's okay to say 'no' every once in a while and take care of herself. Usually it's Tavvy reminding her that she's only one witch. Usually Cordy is quite the social being. She's always willing to meet new people and have a good time but she's happiest when she's hanging out with her own group of friends. Having a raging party with a bunch of people is great fun and all, but hanging around a dying bonfire, chatting about life is what really makes her spirit soar. Being out in nature is another one of Cordy's bucket-filling things to do. She finds fresh air and exercise wakes her mind and body like nothing else. She's always looking for new trails to run, new paths to follow. She loves a little adventure in her life but recently she's been feeling trapped. She ignores that nagging feeling to just run away from all her problems, but every now and then it creeps up on her. One look at her precious daughter sleeping is enough to curb any thoughts of running out on her child and cuddling up on the sofa with Tavvy is enough to remind her that she could never survive without him - he's her best friend. Neat and orderly are two words that a lot of people would use to describe Cordy. She's not the type to stick to a strict itinerary, but she is one to have a list of things to do, be it house work (aka rearranging the furniture - again!), shops to visit or even what to do on holiday. She likes for things to be somewhat organised and she prefers things to be kept as clean as possible, almost crossing over into neat-freak territory. Unlike a lot of Slytherins, Cordy wasn't as hard driven on the whole blood supremacy ideals that some people seemed keen on enforcing. Cordy wasn't ever likely to be seen socialising with a muggle-born or anything, but if she was paired up with one in class then she got on with the work and interacted in a friendly manner regardless of their blood status. The same went for social standing. Rich or poor, Cordy didn't care. She came from a beautifully well off family that never really gave her cause to worry about money. She only really knew of social standing when a boy in her year, that will remain unnamed for whatever other reasons there may be, was unable to attend the Lestrange Christmas Eve party. He was a pureblood and so Cordy had thought he would be there, he practically shattered her world when she learnt he was poor and not welcome in the social circles she usually ran with. Love has not been particularly easy for Cordy through her teen years. She was one of the last girls to develop so boys seemed to not even realise she existed in the sense of her being a woman, until much later than the other girls. She was deemed a bit of a prude, always wearing jumpers and keeping her cloak done up. She favoured thick black tights over the sheer tanned ones and she always made sure her skirts sat at her knees and never too far above. But there was one boy whose eye she caught and it was just as well as he had caught hers. They dated in secret for a little while but it came to an end, as all things do eventually. She is now happily? Yeah, happily married to her best friend, Tavvy, and has found a joy in being a mum that she had never really thought about before little Daphne came in to her life. What a last name. Conjuring images of hunched gargoyles, suggesting that this family are perhaps just as ugly inside as they are out. Well that's not what this family is like, at least not all of them, anyway. Cordelia stands out as a Goyle. Usually the Goyle women are sorted into Ravenclaw and the Goyle men into Slytherin, but little eleven year old Cordelia Goyle was a more difficult decision for the talking sorting hat. Oh, and she turned out not to be all that bad looking either. Win! Raised in a pureblooded world with a smart mother and a father that worked more often than she would see him, Cordelia came to learn to love books. She liked the ones with a little mystery. She would often get caught up in finding the clues those trickster authors would leave along the way. She'd try and spot a red herring while keeping track of the story line. Every sentence she would analyse and try and figure out what was coming next. Sometimes she would know, other times she'd be blown away. Either way it was an adventure she was happy to go on. Quite often as a child Cordelia would act out scenes from the books she would read. She had a vivid imagination that gave way to incredible problem solving skills. People would see a problem but Cordy would always see a solution. So how did such a bright girl come to land in the house of the snake? Why wasn't she in Ravenclaw like so many of the bright women that ran in her family (albeit mostly through marriage)? Well a boy is the answer to that. Two boys actually. For as long as she could remember, Cordy had a fondness for one Octavian Greengrass. He was fun and he treated her like any other kid. A lot of the boys would run away when she wanted to play fight with swords because, obviously, ewww, a girl! Tavvy would play with her though and the two struck up a friendship. It helped that growing up they didn't live too far from one another. Tavvy was going to be the same age as her at Hogwarts too and they made a pact, a promise to be in the same house - Slytherin - together. When it came time to board the Hogwarts Express, Cordy caught up with Tavvy and reminded him of their promise because she was going to be sorted first and she didn't want to be left high and dry in Slytherin and watch Tavvy get sorted into Gryffindor, because that was most definitely the second house she could see him going to. She set off to find a few girlfriends to sit with and ran into another first year. He dropped his quills and parchment, apologising to her as he bent to gather his things. Cordy apologised too, not realising she'd turned positively pink. She helped pick up his things and barely said a word. She didn't really know what to say. She'd never seen him before but he had caught her attention. When it came time to get sorted, Cordy watched as student after student went before her. The boy from the train was ahead of her and he was sorted into Slytherin, which made Cordy's stomach twist into knots for some reason. She didn't realise she was clapping along with the Slytherins as the boy took his place but she watched as he sat down at the table. Pretty soon it was her turn. Sat on the three legged stool she felt the hat slip on to her head and it came down over her eyes, blocking the great hall from view, the boy from the train the last face she looked at. It was rather unnerving just sitting there, listening to a hat that could read her mind. She was a hat stall but the time seemed to pass quickly for Cordy. She had a discussion with the hat, back and forth they went over the pros and cons of Ravenclaw and Slytherin but in the end the hat caved and called out SLYTHERIN to the great hall. Cordy was excited! She jumped up before the hat and even been pulled off her head. She made her way over to the Slytherin table, practically at a run, and took a seat opposite the boy from the train. The next name was called and it was Tavvy. She watched him get sorted far faster than she had been and the two sat with one another at the Slytherin table. School life was pretty great. There were a few cat fights here and there, a few people Cordy didn’t like so much, but on the whole, friend wise, things were great. She did well with her grades and even had a little romance. The boy from the train was someone Cordy was pretty sure she was falling in love with. They dated for a while in secret, her not wanting for her parents to find out before she was ready but it didn’t matter. Her parents told her she’d have an arranged marriage and her dreams were dashed. She still spent time with the other boy and she tried to savour every moment with him. He was a complete secret from everyone. She didn’t even tell her best friends about him. She planned to graduate and leave with him but it turned out her parents had arranged a marriage to the one person whose heart Cordy couldn’t break - Tavvy. She put on a brave face and agreed to marry Tav. It was strange how things shifted in their relationship. Nothing changed and yet they were engaged. It made her a little awkward at first but Tavvy made it a little easier. Cordy made the heartbreaking decision to stick with Tavvy, breaking up with her boyfriend who promised her they could run away together, but running away wasn’t what Cordy wanted, she could never leave Tavvy behind and he seemed so excited to be marrying her and not someone else that he couldn’t love. The engagement and the wedding went smoothly. Cordy refused to see the other guy again all though she thinks about him every day. It didn’t matter, she dedicated herself to Tavvy and they got pregnant. Young parents but hell, they were married, she was living this life and she was locked in. Becoming a mother had really surprised Cordy, she’d never known how much one small human being could mean to her. She’d made her decision long ago and she was sticking to it. She was all in on her relationship with Tavvy and all about being a mother to their child. OOC Play By: Lili Reinhart Your Alias: Coco!
