PERSONALITY Boggart: his father Mirror of Erised: he would see himself happy, in love, accepted by others Patronus: Doe, his happiest memory was when he heard the cheers of Lily when he did something right in school, how she was proud of him after a particularly hard potions lesson. Severus wants two things most of all. The first one is, to be accepted and loved for who he is and what he does, be it right or wrong, without conditions or strings attached. He wants to feel the honest acceptance and love that comes from him just being himself. The second thing he wants, is to make a name for himself as a renown spell creator or potioneer. He loves potions and spell creation like no other, they give him the peace and solace from a life that has left him with many bitter regrets and a deep pitted hatred. Severus is a man that does not talk often, and most certainly does not reveal personal information about himself, he is closed off and diligent at maintaining a distance from almost everyone, as he feels them to be threat to him because they might hurt him. He dislikes being hurt, just as he dislikes others being hurt, a main reason why he questions his loyalty to the Dark Lord as there are many that have been hurt on the way there, both physically and mentally, and Severus has a hurt time living with himself after the events have taken place. Severus loves to study and learn new things, one of the things that drew him to be the most interested in the Dark Arts because of all the material he read on it, and the acceptance it bought him with the Blacks and the Malfoys. Severus continues to hurt and do bad things because he is hurting inside and wants to make that go away, and he wants to fit in with the rest of his Slytherin Alumni friends and peers. Severus has a vain side to him, he likes to be well maintained, and to look like money, even though his funds are lacking. He hates pity and shame and hates to be the disappointment, a huge reason why he continues to feel guilt and wanting to seek forgiveness from Lily. He hates that he let her down, but at the same time, it makes him mad that she couldn't just accept him for the way he was and how he felt about the Dark Arts. Severus deep down has a heart of gold, he wants love and wants to love someone (right now Lily because that love has not waned at all) and he feels lost because he was mistreated and allowed the ability to love by his parents, and his peers. Now, any signs of love is seen as weakness in the eyes of the Dark Lord. Severus has a passionate like for truffles and cats. He has a dislike for any sort of pain, and werewolves. HISTORY Mother: Eileen Helen Snape née Prince, 46, Ravenclaw, Pure-blood Father: Tobias Richard Snape, 45, Muggle Siblings: N/A Partners: N/A Others: Cat - Bluelemon Sev was born to a muggle father, Tobias, and a Pureblood mother, Eileen, and for a time they were happy. Both his parents chasing after a very active and magical little boy. That changed after Tobias was laid off of his longstanding job and Eileen was cut off from her family due to marrying a muggle, after his identity was revealed to them. They drew back from Severus, finding it hard to be around him and his happy nature. They downsized to a small house located at Spinners End, near to where Petunia and Lily Evans lived, and his father turned to the bottle as a solution, Severus having to cart him home many evenings from staying there on the floor drunk. His mother worked hard jobs ones below herself, her skill in potions and dueling wasted, and her attitude waning as the abuse from her husband started and her son would make scathing comments. Severus soon grew out of being happy, the love and approval he once received was absent and he found himself friendless and miserable. Until the day he happened upon Lily Evans and her unsavory sister, Petunia. She put a spring in his step and he helped open the world before her, telling her all about what would come when they went to Hogwarts. As expected, his Hogwarts letter came in, but that caused a fight like no other. His mother went into hiding and not even he knows where. He went to Hogwarts, sitting with Lily on the ride to Hogwarts, though he soon found a group of unsavory people, James, Sirius, Peter and Remus, they left a bad taste on his tongue. They seemed like bullies and that was one thing Severus could not stand for. He bit his tongue though, he wanted to stay friends with Lily. School was miserable, the band of boys he met on the train never ceased to taunt him and torment him. He loved to spend time with Lily and she seemed to hate James and Sirius for their antics, but she was in the same house as they were and that caused the start of a rift. Severus was a Slytherin and not a wizard or witch alive that went into Slytherin didn't go bad... At least according to, well, everyone. So time progressed and he grew more enamored with the Dark Arts, nothing could squelch his love for Potions and spell-creation. He loved to practice potions and work on new spells. The Dark Arts called to him though, they made him fit in, he began to obtain friends and acceptance among the greater number of his classmates and it all seemed to be falling into place. But, at the same time it seemed like Lily was growing further from him and closer to James. It was his own doing, he began to show less care, and she didn't like it, he thought she would love him for his new side. But, she didn't, especially after he called her a mud-blood and finished joining the ranks of the Dark Lord. The hope for a future with Lily is gone, but He is realizing he’s made a grave mistake on whose side he chose. And for what? He is doubting his choices, but the Death Eaters still stand behind him. How can he turn from his friends? Does he really want to? A prophecy was revealed however and he gives report to Voldemort and Voldemorts reaction leaves him questioning his loyalty to Voldemort, because the woman he still hasn’t gotten over is in the crosshairs. He wants to protect her—to an extent, protect her family. But he is a Death Eater, what can he do, especially since he is the one who put her family in the target zone. The prophecy is concerning to him and he isn’t sure he wants to be privy to the Dark Lords doings if his biding is murder and other acts of violence, he hates himself for what damage he has done..
