PERSONALITY Boggart: Roz's boggart has already come to pass, her husband died in an attack carried out by Death Eaters. She's not sure what her new boggart is, probably the pub burning to the ground, beyond saving. Mirror of Erised: Having her husband back, his arms wrapped around her, kissing her on the cheek and then making funny faces together. Patronus: No patronus, but the happiest she's ever been was marrying Tiberius It's very hard to get to know the real Roz. There are so many sides to her that it's nearly impossible to know what you're getting. When she's at work she's cheery and a friend to everyone. She'll pick up on a sour mood, slide ya a drink, give a little wink and that'll be that. Need someone to talk to? Share away, sugar, she's listening. She's there to celebrate your highs and lift you up through your lows, Merlin knows she's had enough lows in her lifetime to know not to kick a poor soul while they're down. She will help build everyone up, she gives an amazingly positive vibe and even her smile just lifts the mood of a room. When she's alone Roz is surprisingly a peaceful person. She loves a good book although she's fussy about what she reads. Her attention span isn't all that long so she really needs something the grabs her and immerses her into its world, anything too slow to get going and she won't bother with again. Friends are somewhat similar. Roz is friendly with everyone that passes through her doors but that doesn't make everyone a friend. Roz's friends are usually people she can relax around, she'll still be her chipper self, but when she doesn't feel like being happy or smiley then her face will just relax and her friends will just know that's her resting (tired as heck) face. Still her friends know her better than anyone and they're the ones that have been there for her through thick and thin. Love was never really a priority for Roz, until she fell head first into it. She had so many crushes in school it was unbelievable. From the dumb sports-nut that thought he could header a bludger to the smart nerd that could out-transfigure Professor McGonagall, Roz fancied the lot. Of course she didn't fancy the creep in the corner of Herbology, picking his nose and trying to plant the evidence, or the bully that looked like he himself had been smashed in the face with a shovel. There were a lot of guys she fancied but she never dated anyone until she left school. Her first love was her only love; she met him at a party a couple of years after graduating. He was a muggleborn wizard and had been a few years above Roz. She didn't recognise him at all but together they had a blast. They met a few times at a few different parties and nights out and soon became inseparable. They married had a pub with one another and then sadly he was killed. It wasn't an easy time for Roz but that was where her friends pitched in to help her out. She's not had any other boyfriends, she's never had any one night stands but she's been on quite a few dates since her husband passed away. She's not yet found anyone that makes her as happy as he did. Roz has probably ticked off a few people, mostly drunken patrons that she's flung out the bar. When she was younger she was a bit of a gobby cow and probably irritated plenty of her peers. When she got drunk she was handsy and up for a bit of snogging with just about anybody - now's your chance, nose picker! She could be blunt and to the point and she would indulge massively in gossip. She'd listen, she'd cackle, she'd share. She was always on the go, always acting first and thinking second. Not a lot of people enjoyed being around that kind of person but she's done well for herself in life so far. HISTORY Mother: Tabitha Crouch nee Carrow, 72, Slytherin, pureblood Father: Harold Crouch, 69, Ravenclaw, pureblood Siblings: Bartemius "Barty" Crouch, 42, pureblood Brother Crouch, 39, pureblood Brother Crouch, 32, pureblood Partners: Tiberius "Rus" Everly, would be 47, muggleborn, deceased. Others: Bartemius "Barty Jr" Crouch jr, sixth year at Hogwarts, pureblood Barty's wife, 40's, pureblood Cassidy and James Everly, muggles, in-laws, Tiberius' parents, deceased Well there's a heck of a lot to say about Rosmerta Everly and not a whole lot of time to say it in. She was the third born child to Tabitha and Harold Crouch but she was their first and only daughter. They'd tried for a fourth child in the hopes of giving her a sister close in age but they'd instead had another son. Were they disappointed? Not at all. They had a third sons for Merlin's sake! They were done at four children though Rosmerta (as her family always called her) would have loved a baby sister, even if the age gap was bigger than her parents had wanted. She was always a little sour that she didn't get to have a little sister but it was okay, it turned out she had a very mothering personality when she put other people first, but as a kid that didn't happen very often. Roz (as she's preferred to be called for as longa as she can remember) was a bit of a selfish child growing up. The whole concept of sharing was lost on her for a many number of years. Whenever she had to play games with her cousins or brother's she'd grow bored quickly unless it was what she had wanted to play. She was always an adventurous spirit, getting her nose into just about everything she could and as they had an old manor home, there was a lot to explore growing up. Despite being forbidden from entering the attic Roz went up there numerous times from the age of eight (when she learnt to pick a lock with a little assistance of her magical gifts) and never understood why she was banned from up there until she turned eleven and realised there was a secret room and off of that secret room was an old lady. Roz's gut told her to go in, find out just what in the heck this secret room had been all about and how had she not noticed it before?! Roz was sneaky, she was subtle and she finally got into the room and got the scare of her life. The old woman, in an old wicker chair, cackled so suddenly and so loudly that Roz stumbled back. She knocked over a lamp and it smashed on the floor. It alerted her dad to her presence and Merlin did she get a wallop when he got there but Roz feels as though her memory was tampered with. Her dad had gone downstairs and there wasn't enough time for him to get back up. Between the smashing of the lamp and her dad coming through the door was literally seconds, but that wasn't even possible, you couldn't even apparate in the house and that would have been the only logical explanation. She was thrown out of the room but despite that she had many, many questions for her parents over the next few days. Like 'Who was that lady?' and 'Where did that room come from?'. Her parents put better protections around the entrance to the attic after that and Roz never got back up there. She did however threaten to talk to her brother's about the whole think and naturally she got a walloping for that. Did that stop her? Like heck! She asked her oldest brother if he knew anything about the old lady in the attic. He brushed her off as certifiably insane and Roz got a smack. Again. Then she asked her other brother and got another snack. Then she asked her younger brother and sure enough, she got smacked. That night her mum came to see her and explained that it was her grandmother Crouch. She'd gone insane a many years ago and they'd faked her death. Roz asked why and she explained that she had become a danger, her magic was dangerous and they couldn't send her to St Mungo's because it would hurt the family's reputation. Roz couldn't believe it and asked about how her father got to her so quickly in the attic but her mother just kissed her on the head and tucked her in to bed. When Roz got her Hogwarts letter she was excited. She was looking forward to going off to school. She knew plenty of others that were starting at around about the same time as her from her childhood, growing up as one of the elite meant she'd only ever mixed and mingled with the purebloods, people it was okay to befriend and to be honest, she always thought of them as a bunch of boring stiffs, even the kids. Her trip to Diagon Alley to get her things was great fun. She always went when her brother's needed school supplies but the excitement of getting her own things was almost too much. She got all sorts of things she didn't need and her parents had to buy her a trunk with extra storage. She packed so many outfits and sweets that one would think she was packing for three people. She had her owl and she even snuck in a cheeky second pet, a little snail that would fart puffs of colourful smoke. She just couldn't resist and it was certainly a talking point when she got it out on the Hogwarts Express on her first ever trip to Hogwarts. The journey across the lake was purely mesmerising for Roz and while she was enjoying being rowed across the lake by magical boats, she would have much rathered swum, but it was dark and her big brothers had told her other giant squid that lived in the lake so she figured she'd leave her swimming adventure for another time, when it was daylight. Roz was sorted into Gryffindor, a house she'd not expected because she figured she'd just end up in Ravenclaw or Slytherin like either of her parents. The idea that she'd be sorted, and quite quickly, into Gryffindor was quite a surprise. Despite her surprise she bounced off to the Gryffindor table that cheered for her and made herself at home. In her dorm was the first time that Roz really ever had anything to do with half-bloods or muggleborns. She found them fascinating and asked many rude questions that got a lot of people hating on her. She had no idea what she'd done wrong and just brushed it off as her dorm mates being bonkers. Eventually she did start to make friends, she always did what she thought was right and if that meant standing up for a muggleborn then she did it. If it got her into trouble then she didn't care. Hogwarts matured Roz a lot. She became a friendlier person and learnt there were boundaries. She also learnt the muggleborns and half bloods were just like her and there was no big deal to them, despite what other people would think. Roz tried out a few times for the quidditch team but she was never quite good enough. She had the spirit but lacked the coordination once she was in the air so she settled for cheering the house team on at every match. Come graduation and Roz did pretty well in her chosen subjects. She wasn't perfect and she wasn't the smartest but she got by well enough with mostly A's and an E in potions. After Hogwarts Roz had no idea what she wanted to do. Her dad wanted her to get a respectable job in the ministry but it really didn't suit her. They fought over it and it turned ugly. Roz moved in with a friend from school, not being kicked out of her home but certainly not feeling welcome to go back there. Her mother had just stayed silently on the sidelines, supporting her father so how could Roz return knowing they wanted her to go into a dead end job that would simply crush her soul? Thankfully her friend got her a job at the bar she was working at and that was where Roz met Tiberius. He wasn't hot and swoonworthy like all the girls seemed to want but Roz wasn't exactly normal. She was taken in by his personality, his sense of humour winning her over fast. More than that he enjoyed her company, her, the girl who no one could stand to be around for longer than an hour. They could spend hours upon hours hanging out after work, doing nothing. They were friends but they would snuggle and get close. Quite often Roz would be over at his place and fall asleep on his lap or in his bed, but ever the gentleman he would take the couch if she was hogging his bed, even though there was plenty of space for the two of them. Soon the pair started officially dating and things happened quickly. They moved in to a new place with one another and worked at his parents muggle pub. They talked about getting married but kind of skipped a whole engagement and just went and did it. Less than two months after talking about it. Roz was always one to rush headlong into things and big, life changing commitments didn't change that. She had found her soulmate and he enjoyed going along for the ride. After marrying a muggleborn, Roz's parents were uncomfortable with her choices to say the least. The pair had eloped and once they returned Roz's already stained relationship with her parents became even worse. The arguments got bad and her parents finally disowned her, insinuation that she was crazy and had lost her mind, they told people that she refused to seek help and protrayed her very much the same as they had done with her grandmother before they'd faked her death and kept her locked in the attic, Roz still unsure if she was alive or dead by this point. Her brothers scarcely spoke to her but she didn't care, she was happy with Rus. Together they saved enough for a deposit for a home but when Rus's parents sold their own pub, they offered the pair a little money to start their own pub because that was their dream, as small as it might be to some it was what the pair wanted. They thought long and hard about where to buy, no where seemed right for them, then The Three Broomsticks came on the market and they just knew it was the place for them. 17th of May, 1969 they were lucky to get a loan and the pub. They were happy and celebrated that date every year. They loved that their future was looking bright and going according to plan. The spruced the place up a little but kept it the same old familiar pub that everyone knew and loved. Or at least had loved. The business had been going a little downhill, hence the sale, but Roz and Rus turned it around and it became a welcoming, warm place once more. The years passed and they made the pub a huge success. Life was perfect. They spoke of having a family and decided it was about time to try and start. A year passed and nothing happened but the pair weren't worried, they'd have liked a child but they were content enough with one another. Then May 1978 happened. An attack on Hogsmeade during the student's Hogsmeade weekend. The pub was targeted and Roz knocked unconscious in the first blast. By the time she came to she was in St Mungo's where her mother sat in a chair near her bedside and her father paced the floor at the foot of her bed. Rus had been killed. Roz was heartbroken but her friends and family helped pull her through. She thought of selling the pub but she just couldn't bring herself to do it. Her staff were wonderful, helping out with rebuilding the place and running it, making sure she was looking after herself. Her mother and father tried to convince her to change her surname, to go back to a respected pureblooded surname, but Roz refused. She'd loved Rus, she still did, and by keeping his name she was keeping a part of him with her. To this day the pub is still up and running smoothly. She works hard and she puts everything she can into it. OOC Play By: Jennifer Morrison Your Alias: Coco!
