Owl wings flapped in front of Triss and she pocketed the letter in front of her. She was sat alone in the great hall, pushing her breakfast around her plate, while others talked with friends, cheerful and excited about the day ahead. There was plenty to eat, as there always was, but Triss didn’t much feel like eating any more. These days she survived on little. Breakfast was usually a slice of toast and some water, today was different, today was a Hogsmeade day and Triss needed to get out of the castle. She was starting to go stir crazy cooped up inside the castle but she was doing it for her own good. That was what she kept telling herself. It wasn’t really sinking in though. The urges she had just to look at him, to smile or to say ‘hi’ were too much sometimes. She’d been failing almost all her classes and now she was back on track to at least passing them so she had to continue what she was doing. It wasn’t right, it wasn’t what love should have been but it was love. Triss just pushed the mushrooms about on her plate while she silently chewed one, her owl flying away after delivering another letter from her mother that she didn’t want to read. She already knew she was a disappointment, she couldn’t stand to see the strained hand writing of her mother just skirting around the subject.
Once she was done with only a fraction of her small breakfast, she pocketed a satsuma and left the great hall, her head hanging down, limp hair covering her face. She hadn’t seen him and she didn’t want to. She needed a little taste of freedom away from the castle so she checked herself out at the gates and made her way down to the local village where a few other students had already started their shopping. Triss had no idea what she was even going to do in the village so she spent her entire journey trying to remember what was in the village worth visiting. She needed more ink and a couple of new quills so she figured she could visit the quill shop at some point. Books were a good distraction so perhaps something of a murder-mystery that lacked any and all elements of love would be good. Then there was the sweet shop. She was playing catch-up on all her lessons so perhaps a little sugar rush would help give her a last jolt of energy before she crashed on her bed for the night.
Triss did a little shopping and eventually her stomach began to grumble. It was only a couple of hours after breakfast but she needed a little something. She took herself in to The Three Broomsticks where she ordered herself a butterbeer. It seemed huge and Triss knew there was no way she’d drink an entire one, but she’d not say a word. The pub was starting to get busy, people were starting to come in for a mid-morning drink or to grab an early lunch. Triss pulled the satsuma she’d grabbed from the great hall, out of her pocket but it slipped from her hand, rolling across the floor. "Fuck." She mumbled angrily before sliding her chair out aggressively, frustrated at the piece of fruit for following the laws of physics as she stood and started following the short trail her satsuma had taken. It had stopped by the table of a couple that were gazing at one another. Triss resisted the urge to throw up in their faces and instead bent down to retrieve her disruptive fruit.

You are perfection, my only direction it's fire on fire Elena had made it her business to know what dates Hogsmeade weekends were. She wasn't above stalking if she had to, but there was no way she wasn't going to try and see her sister when she could. Triss had gone off the rails at school recently. It wasn't okay. It was far from okay, and even though she'd insisted that she was doing better, and their mum and dad had told Elena that Triss was indeed trying harder in lessons, it just wasn't good enough. She had to speak to Triss herself, and she had to know from the horses mouth that her little sister was doing alright. Of course the little witch could lie, she was going through a real dramatic teen phase that was a nightmare to deal with, but Elena would never give up. In fact, she couldn't wait for the school holidays, when she could plan with their dad to force Triss into helping out at the dance school every now and then. She'd get paid handsomely for it, and Elena could try and charm a bit of that rebellious little shit streak out of her with love and hard work. For now, she'd settle for stalking Hogsmeade weekends, and it didn't take long for her to spot the fiery red head of her sister walking through the village towards The Three Broomsticks. Pleased to see Triss alone, Elena followed, slipping into the busy pub without being noticed. She hung back near the door while Triss got herself a drink, and then proceeded to order herself a glass of ice cold water before turning to see which table her sister had sat at. There weren't many options, the place was filling up for the lunch rush, but she spotted Triss quickly enough, and was about to approach when her sister dropped something. Where she got that clumsiness from, Elena really didn't know, but it made her quirk an eyebrow as she watched Triss chase a satsuma across the room. Urgh. So undignified. She should have just let it go, it was probably filthy now, anyway. Disgusted, Elena sat down in Triss' vacated chair and put her glass of water down on the table, waiting for Triss to return to her table. She crossed one perfect leg over the other, and watched. _______________________ tag: Beatrice Delilah Greengrass words: 416 notes: <3 outfit: Pristine template by izzy[googlefont="Rouge Script"][googlefont="Cinzel Decorative"]

Standing upright the chatter of the pub seemed to grow louder as more people entered, the bell above the door hadn't stopped ringing. Triss wondered how the bell remained in one piece because to her it was simply jarring. Ring, ring ring. It was sodding irritating but no one else seemed to care, no one else seemed aware that there was a world outside of their own pathetic little conversations and no one seemed aware that she was two seconds from blowing up half the bloody pub. Turning to her table and spotting her sister sat there, Triss squeezed on her satsuma, her jaw clenching as held back from hexing her sister. Was she not afforded some free time to herself? Was Triss not allowed to try and live like a normal student? Other students didn't have older siblings stalking and harassing them. Just what exactly did Elena think was going to happen? Was she hoping to see Triss at her worst, was she intending to Lord it over her sister at how much more perfect she was, or perhaps it was just a visit to remind Triss that she was a disappointment. Whatever the reason behind El's presence, Triss was not pleased.
"Don't you have a toddler rehearsal to lead?" She asked, her voice flat, lacking the love and enthusiasm it had once had back before she'd ever dated such a negative influence. "Or absolutely anyone else to bother?" Because she was a bother to Triss. As the redhead sat down she loosened her grip on her satsuma, placing it on the table in front of her. She'd not broken the skin but it was certainly misshapen. Had Elena not been there then Triss would have thought twice about eating a crushed fruit, but seeing her sister, knowing how prim and proper and straight up anal she was, Triss began to peel the fruit, her arms stretched across the table while she was slumped in the chair, not giving a single fudge about appearances, and if Elena was going to try and win any battles today, then Triss was going to dig her heels in deep and let her sister know there was no way in hell she was going to be won over. Not now, not ever. Triss was done with all the perfectionist bullshit that her sisters put out there. Flawless human beings could get stuffed for all that Triss could care.
