PERSONALITY Boggart: on the edge of a tall building and about to fall off. She has a fear for heights and anything signifying that would be her boggart. Mirror of Erised: Veronica aspires to be seen for herself as a person and away from her family's shadow and as a well known dueling champion and hitwizard. Patronus: black bear - she would remember the time when she was selected as a trainee at the ministry and successfully completing it and becoming a Hitwitch. Flaws: stubborn, sarcastic, blunt, cautious & selfless If sarcasm was considered as a degree, Veronica would have had graduated years ago. Her intentions are almost always comedic and she rarely is sarcastic to be mean or hurtful, however it does often give her a cold edge that she is unaware of. Coupled with the fact that she is about as blunt as they come she can be a relatively intense woman, though she doesn’t mean to be. Her bluntness comes from her mother, who was equally if not more so then her daughter, and she has been brought up to speak her mind. However, speaking her mind can often be seen as rude, which she apologises for as soon as she is told she’s being rude. Likewise her sarcasm can come across rude and when Veronica is angry it is hard for her to avoid coming across as a bitter harpy because of her sarcastic and sharp tongue. On the other hand her sharp tongue can be seen as amusing when it’s used in a witty and positive way as it is most of the time. Although she is not necessarily funny in a blatant and obvious way she does consider herself funny in a more sophisticated, clever way. Determination and ambition are traits which Veronica has shown since she was young. As a child she would always want to do what she was not quite able to and would always do her best to be doing what older children were doing. As a result she walked and talked quicker than her parents had expected, as well as insisting she walked everywhere once she was able to. Her hard working nature has also made her detest lazy people. Of course Veronica likes to take a day off once in a while and chill out, however she hates when people procrastinate and don’t try their best. She was constantly told as a child to try her hardest and it was something she wanted to do, and it has continued. She puts her studies and academics before everything which has, in fact, lead her to become slightly lonely and sad about that fact, though her social life is filled with friends and all she still needs to loosen up a bit when it comes to work. As much as Veronica hates it, she is a cautious person. Likewise, she is very selfless. She is frequently concerned with others and how they feel, forever putting them before herself. This has lead to her being put on the back burner in her own life, and not being as happy as she should and could be. In essence, she needs someone to drag her out of her shell and tell her to be selfish for a change HISTORY Mother: Amelia McLaggen nee Shore , halfblood, 56 Father: Nicholas McLaggen , pureblood, 57 Siblings: female, 28, ____ ____ McLaggen male, 26, ____ ____ McLaggen Nicholas and Amelia were never the star crossed lovers as one sees them this day. In fact they were a perfect example one would point when describing childhood rivals who later married. Nicholas was a pureblood and Amelia or Amy in short was a halfblood born to a muggleborn mother and a halfblood father. Given that their fathers were friends, the duo had seen each other ever since they were kids and they had quite a competition between them. That increased a ten fold, the moment they both stepped inside Hogwarts. And to add fuel to the already existing rivalry, Nicholas was sorted to Slytherin while Amy was sorted to Gryffindor. So the rivalry grew with time until their last year. Nicholas was the Slytherin seeker at the time and she was the Gryffindor's beater. In their last year, during a match she sent the bludger towards him as she did in every other game, but that particular time the bludger had a mind of it's own and hit him right on his head. Nicholas dropped from his broom and was taken to the hospital for recovery. That was the first time they both spent time talking to each other rather than riling each other up with words. Both of them came out of Hogwarts and slowly grew close and it was only a matter of weeks before they announced themselves engaged. They both ended up playing professional quidditch for the same team and soon married. The young newly wedded couple, Nicholas and Amelia McLaggen had enjoyed their life as quidditch players and it had come as a surprise for them when they found out that Amelia was pregnant with her first child. Nine months later, the couple welcomed their first child a beautiful baby girl. Amelia quit playing quidditch so that she can concentrate on her kid, and while they were content with a single child, they had been ecstatic when they came to know that Amelia was carrying their child, two years later. However Amelia began to suffer a lot during the pregnancy as she became weak through her nine months but in the end she managed to give birth though her recovery took a bit more time. And this time it was a boy and the McLaggen family couldn't be more happier. And that was why the couple were taken aback when Amelia fell pregnant with her third child four years after her son. While Nicholas was happy at the prospect of having another kid, he also began to worry over his wife's health during the pregnancy given that she had trouble the last time. but luckily nothing happened to Amy as she gave birth to their third child and second daughter, Veronica Isobel McLaggen. Veronica Isobel McLaggen was a miracle child according to her father Nicholas. She was born four years after her brother and was their little princess and treated as such. Little Ver was born with shining black hair just like her mother, Amy though her grandmother insists that she looks just like her maternal aunt as a child which Ver totally dislikes. But instead of the trademark McLaggen blue eyes, Ver had inherited the brown eyes turning out to be a her mother's baby girl right from her birth. She was doted upon by her siblings and parents, and was the little princess of the family. As a child she often confused with who her direct family was, as she was always surrounded by huge number of people and somehow they all looked similar to her as a kid. But never did she feel frightened or intimidated by the presence of so many of them. In fact she liked the attention upon herself. Veronica usually went to her father's quidditch practices along with her siblings and watched him play. However unlike what her parents expected, she never held an interest towards the game. She felt that it was too violent and her fear of heights did not help her and not to mention that she was afraid of getting hurt during the game. And thus she was among the one in the family who was not that much into the family game. She didn't show magical abilities until she was six years old which worried Nicholas and Amy to no end. Their elder kids have showed their accidental magic quite early than her. They wondered if Veronica was a squib for a long time, but that thought vanished when she did her accidental magic and that one instance happened to be a relief for their parents though it did cause them some trouble to do the damage control. As a child, Amy never left Veronica alone, she was always worried about her younger girl more than her other kids. Many might think that she was partial but that was quite not the reason, ever since she was born Veronica was comfortable with her mother and wouldn't go around much on her own to anyone else. And given that her elder siblings were already 4 and 6 year old when she was born, they were used to taking care of themselves, while Veronica depended on her mom for everything. When Veronica was 5 years old, her sister started her Hogwarts education. She only had a chance to play with her brother, but that too changed when he followed to school two years later. And at the age of 7 Ver was left alone at home with only her mother and father to keep her company. She used the free time to learn singing and tried to improve her skills in dancing. She was home schooled by her mother and her grandmother, Cora who took turns in explaining her the basics of every subject ever taught at Hogwarts. And that was when Ver grasped the spells and hexes faster than the theory subjects which motivated her to pick her job. Just like everyone in her family she received her Hogwarts letter by her 11th Birthday and it was with mixed feelings she boarded the train. She was quite sad to leave her parents behind and to live a life all alone, as she loved them a lot more than anything in the world, but there was a happy thought that she would finally get a chance to be with her siblings more. And with a promise to write letters to her daily Nicholas and Amy sent their youngest and last child to Hogwarts. At Hogwarts she was sorted into the house of ravens, no surprises there as Veronica had been someone to grasp subjects with ease and had an innate urge to learn more. She loved to spend her time near the Great Lake or she would just go around helping out people. She was always the top in her studies, and as she grew up, her studying and reading became more intense. She preferred reading books well beyond her level and exceeding the expectations of her professors. She wanted to enter into the healer training program but didn’t want to get lost in the sea of trainees, she wanted to stand out and that was when she came across the job as a hitwitch. She was particularly good at charms and is perfect when it came to dueling and that was when she had wanted to become a dueling champion. With the required scores which were EE and O's in her NEWTs, Veronica graduated Hogwarts. After graduation, she moved out of her parents house and took a flat in muggle London so as to be nearer to her workplace, The ministry. She had trained for year in the DMLE and later on was promoted to being a full time Hit witch.
