The day had arrived and Clementine Nott was not as nervous as she had anticipated. She and Lucian had not known one another all that well before their arranged marriage but over the course of their engagement they’d become closer and Clementine had decided that he was certainly someone that would make a wonderful husband. She also knew that could have just been a show but Lucian seemed far too genuine to be deceitful, Clem believed he was honestly a good person and once they were married he would continue to be. If not then she was fine with killing him if he ever did anything she truly disapproved of. There was a lot she believed she could tolerate in an arrange marriage but violence towards her was something she would not allow. She may have seemed like a charming and sweet wife to be for Lucian but she was a cold blooded killer when she wanted to be. She’d taken more lives than she could remember and she’d done so with ease. But she wouldn't need to take Lucian's, she was certain of it for now. He'd be a good enough husband and in return she'd be a good enough wife. Tit for tat. That was how these marriages worked.
In the back room of the church Clem was being fussed over by her bridesmaids, straightening out her gown as she stood there being taken care of. Her mum fussed around with her hair a little while her sister shooed everyone out the way as she floated the veil on over. Very delicately Clem's mum too the veil and slid the piece into Clem's hair, skilfully arranging it so the slide wasn't visible. Altogether Clem was absolutely flawless, at least that was the gist she got from the mountain of compliments she got from her bridesmaids and mother. Everything was as it should have been. The last couple of days had been full of tantrums with perfection being at the centre of every single one of them but the day was here and everything was falling in to place as it should. Clem had faith that her brother was doing well as an usher, welcoming their guests on behalf of the family while her father waited outside of the chamber door. This was the day he was giving away his eldest daughter. A match potentially made in heaven if Lucian was who he seemed to be, Clem thought and just so long as it outshone her very soon to be sister in laws wedding coming up sometime in the Winter, then Clem would be even more pleased at the end of the year.
Laughing and giggling occurred as talk of the wedding night started, Clem allowed herself to fall in to the conversation rather than worry about what was happening beyond the chamber doors. She saw no sense in worrying right now and was certain that all was going to plan. Everyone involved in the wedding was under rather strict instructions on what to do and when to do it. Behaviour guidelines were set down by Clem and if her future sister in laws were even the slightest bit a pain in the arse then Clem knew Evie would have her back and hex the three little bitches. This was her day, her's and Lucian's and she wouldn't have three little tarts take anything away from her. Clem was just pleased she had the sense not to ask them to be a part of her bridal party, she had plenty of friends to fill the spots and a couple of cute little flower girls. The ring bearer was a sweetheart, six years old, blonde hair and blue eyed. He'd steal the show if it wasn't for her radiant self and of course her handsome bridegroom. A little flutter stirred in Clem's stomach at the thought of Lucian stood waiting for her at the end of the aisle. It was going to be a fantastic day had by all provided no one pissed her off!
A knock came from the door and Clem took a deep breath as her fathers voice sounded out. They were ready. It was time. The ladies all helped Clem out of the room, her mum giving her a teary peck on the cheek before heading off to find her seat at the front of the church. Evie grabbed the wedding bouquet for Clem as well as her own flowers. They all got in to place and the music started, the flower girls heading down the aisle first, scattering a combination of rose and peony petals that matched the ones from Clem's bouquet. The little ring bearer made his way down the aisle, a cooing of 'aww' could be heard over the gentle harp music that played. Evie checked Clem over and handed her the bouquet as the first of the bridesmaids started down the aisle of the church. One by one with their miniature versions of her bouquet they all looked splendid and Evie was the last to go. So far absolutely everything seemed perfect. Evie was next and then took her place near the alter where Clem knew her fiancé was waiting for her. With a deep breath she took her father's arm as he whispered to her and he too gave her a peck on the cheek. It was finally time.
The wedding march began to play and everyone that was seated stood and turned to catch a glimpse of the bride before the official walk down the aisle began. Clem began walking in sync with her father. The front of her veil was pulled down over her face while the rest gently rested against her dress and was pulled along on the floor behind. At the end of each pew little miniature bouquets that matched her main bouquet were all in perfect order. Clem kept her focus forward, eyes fixed on Lucian as her father accompanied her down the aisle to give her away but she took in every little detail she could along the way. She took note of the more remarkable people among the crowd, the ones she could see at least and she made sure to carry herself correctly, she did not want to start her marriage off to Lucian by embarrassing him, or herself for that matter, on their wedding day. Once she reached the alter the music from the harp and the organ died down and her father kissed her cheek once more through the veil. She stepped up to meet Lucian while her father took his seat next to her mother. This was finally it.

Everyone deserves a little oblivion now and then
The time had come and much to Lucian’s surprise he wasn’t nervous at all about standing up in front of practically everyone they knew and having to recite heartfelt words of adoration to a woman he didn’t know all that well. What he did know of Clementine was that she was seemingly kind, proper without being stuffy about it, and had a decent sense of humor. He could work with that much, and Lucian hoped that whatever he didn’t know about Clementine was not horrid enough to make him curse his parents for arranging this marriage in the first place. By all accounts it was a smart match. They were both of pure families with enough wealth between them to easily support them without worry and to ensure whatever children they produced would have a good life. Their political and social beliefs were in line with each other’s, as well, which was important considering Clem worked for the Minister and Lucian ran an illegal elixir ring out of the back of his apothecary shop, not that Clem knew yet about his side business. He was saving that bit of information until after she was officially a Burke. He had kept things behind locked doors for a reason and an engagement alone wasn’t enough to make him throw common sense out the window. She would come to know the truth in time, and Lucian half suspected she might have had an inkling already. She was quite clever, too, that was also something he knew of his future wife. He appreciated an intelligent woman.
Long ago Lucian had decided to make the best out of this situation by going into the relationship with a positive outlook and he truly did like what he had come to know of his bride. That made it all the easier to stand at the front of the church, his best mates and younger brother flanking him, all awaiting their arranged partners for the evening. In Lucian’s case, this would be his partner for all eternity. When the music changed, and the procession started, Lucian’s eyes were fixed on the back of the large, tastefully decorated room. Flower girls, the ring bearer, and a procession of bridesmaids. When Clem’s little sister Evie had reached the front, the music changed again, and everyone turned to watch a vision in white approach. “You look…” Lucian was at a loss for words when his bride was finally passed from her father’s hand to his,“absolutely stunning,” he finished, his words soft enough to be heard only by her and the officiant who stood between them.
The ceremony wasn’t a long one, but neither was it really very short. The officiant spoke poetic words of love and loyalty. The couple exchanged vows. Finally, Lucian slide a white gold band covered in diamonds over Clem’s ring finger, a thicker matching one already having been placed on his hand. Having finished signing their names to the marriage certificate, the couple was announced as man and wife. There was a buzz of excitement from their guests that slowly grew to applause as Lucian pulled Clementine in for a respectful but sincere kiss, holding her face in the palm of his right hand and her waist in his left.
The reception was spectacular, and Lucian took every opportunity to compliment Clem in her decisions. Occasionally she would throw him a compliment as well, on one of the few things his input was requested on in planning this magnificent soiree. The wedding party was required for pictures but Loosh and Clem were kept longer than the others, making sure every possible angle of their attire and expressions were captured on film. Clementine’s dress was perfection and to his credit, Lucian didn’t look half bad himself. He had tidied up his beard, it was getting rather wild and his mum had been complaining in that loving way that she did. She had wanted him to shave it completely, and if Clem had wanted that as well, he would have but Lucian thought he looked too childlike and innocent without a bit of facial hair. His jet black tuxedo was striking against the white waistcoat, a small boutonniere consisting of a rose and a peony to match Clementine’s bouquet.
The couple had prepared for weeks for their first dance, not that much training was required. They were both from well-off enough families that dancing lessons was simply a part of growing up, but they practiced their first dance nevertheless and it paid off splendidly as they glided across the dancefloor to the live band that played every romantically inclined song that had ever been invented. Lucian danced with Clem’s mother and his own, each of his sisters got him for a song, as did Clementine’s sister. He was happy when dinner was served and his feet could take a break but of course then there were toasts to the happy couple and a speech of gratitude from himself and Clem to their guests. Champagne. Cake. More dancing. There was so much of it and yet it all seemed to move quickly. Before he knew it, Lucian had swept his bride off her feet as they crossed over the threshold into their luxury hotel suite, ready to start their nearly month-long honeymoon.

Nott-Burke Wedding The big day had finally arrived, and Evie had fitted into her dress perfectly. That was the most important thing for today, right? Of course it was. Her looking a complete vision as her big sister's maid of honour was so incredibly important, and she was Evie, of course she would be spectacular, she was stunning. Naturally Clementine looked beautiful, too, and that was also a priority for the day, but she had their mother to help her with that, and Evie tried her best not to stare at herself in the mirrors too much as she handed over the veil for their mother to fit into Clem's hair. The dress she was wearing was pale pink, long and beautiful, she would practically float down the aisle in it. And Clem's dress was alright, too. Okay, Clem's dress was amazing, and her sister looked like an absolute angel as she turned around and Evie got her first look at her in her outfit complete with veil. "You're perfection," she smiled with a small shake of her head in awe at her gorgeous big sister. Clem's smile was ear to ear as the sisters fussed and allowed excitement to take over before the big event. It didn't take long before their father arrived for his part in the ceremony, walking his first born down the aisle. Evie scooped up the bouquets from the dressing room and followed Clem and their dad out of the room. The ring bearer and flower girls were sent in to gentle harp music which trickled into their small chamber off of the main room, and Evie turned to her sister as the unimportant bridesmaids headed out for their walk up the aisle. A few hushed whispers of encouragement and love were exchanged as Evie brushed out a kink on Clem's dress and handed the bride her bouquet. It was soon her own turn to walk down the aisle and take her place near the altar, and she made no rush of it, enjoying every second of all eyes being on her. Her smile was radiant as she glided past people from every pureblood family around, enjoying the admiring glances and smiles of adoration she received. Her gaze finally fell on Lucian who was waiting for his bride, and she stood opposite him to the side of the altar, leaving room for his bride. He looked like some sort of blonde god in that suit, and if he wasn't about to marry her sister, she'd have ripped it off of him and had her way with him right there in front of everyone. Okay, maybe not quite, but in her head she did. For half a second. Her head turned as the wedding march began, and Clem floated into the room, all beauty and nerves, and every pair of eyes in the room on her. Some people were crying already, and Evie resisted the urge to roll her eyes. She would cry if this was a wedding designed by true love, but as something that was arranged, she knew the anxiety that went with it, and so crying over the beauty of it all would not be something she would be doing today. Maybe she'd cry later when she was drunk and started to think about how her sister had missed out on falling in love and having a real wedding with someone of her own choosing. That might be a tad inappropriate, though. She'd have to think about how much she had to drink. The ceremony was a pretty average length, just what you'd expect of a pureblood wedding, and Evie stood tall through the whole thing, her high heels never making her twitch or shift position. She was tall and proud and everything her sister would want her to be. She applauded and cheered for the bride and groom as they kissed, and she hoped when it came time to consummating the wedding tonight that Clem got more than a chaste peck on the lips from her new husband. He was far too hot to be that tame and boring. The reception was wonderful, and allowed Evie to mingle with friends and family openly, although she was called away for photos for a short while, which was just as well before she had another drink. The Burke sisters were seemingly well behaved, and Evie had her instructions to keep an eye on them for the day. They wouldn't sully their own reputation by making a spectacle of themselves, surely. Evie even had to dance with the younger Burke brother, Lysander, and then Lucian himself gave her a twirl around the dance floor. The dance she really wanted was with her sister, and the pair shimmied away, arms around each other as one of their favourite up tempo songs was played. It was lovely to be able to celebrate with Clem, though she soon found herself someone attractive and available to have a proper dance with once everyone was too drunk to care about her rubbing her arse up against some guy's crotch. All in all, it was a wonderful day, no drama, she looked incredible, lots of admiration, and the only downfall being that her sister was now a Burke. Clementine Burke. Evie was the only Nott girl in the family. The end of them being the Nott sisters was kind of a slap in the face, but her sister looked happy, and Evie was too tipsy to think about it by the time she was heading to a hotel room with the hot guy she'd met at the bar. She did worry when he ripped her dress off, it had been quite expensive, but you couldn't put a price on fun, right? _______________________ tag: Clementine Gabrielle Burke , Lucian Angelus Marcel Burke and everyone! notes: <3 outfit: Maid of Honour. template by izzy[googlefont="Mrs Saint Delafield"]

A girl should be two things classy and fabulous
The clock was officially starting. Today her older brother Lucian would marry. Later this year, Lilith would be wed. The next in line would be Lyra and as of this moment there was no one she wanted to spend the rest of her days with, which made it ever more likely that she would find herself in an arranged marriage one day soon. Hopefully not too soon, she had so much she wanted to accomplish before she became a wife and mother. She wanted her figure to last for years to come. She had a marvelous body, it would be such a shame to stretch it all out just for a child. She couldn’t even imagine the terror Lilith would become as she started getting fat from pregnancy. That thought made Lyra giggle as she entered the church, gently pulling the front of her gown up so that she didn’t step on the delicate lace as she took the stairs, her date’s arm around waist.
William was a charming chap, a friend the theatre and her date for the evening. The pair weren’t formally dating but the tabloids had spotted them out together a time or two and reported that they were an item. No doubt the paparazzi would spy them here together make assumptions once more. Lyra didn’t mind. She enjoyed having her picture in the papers and her name on everyone’s tongue. It came with the role of starlet that she had taken on, and it suited her well. Today, however, was not about her. Today was about her handsome brother Lucian and his new wife Clementine. She didn’t know her new sister-in-law very well, but she seemed decent and Lucian appeared happy enough with the arrangement.
Lucian’s happiness was really all that mattered. He was the heir to their family’s wealth and would carry on the family name with whatever witch he took on as a wife, so the making of a smart match was relatively easy on his end, at least in Lyra’s mind it was. Clementine would be replaced with any number of well-to-do witches from pure lines and it would be of no difference to Lucian, but his happiness was the real thing at stake here. Sitting in the pew near the front of the church, Lyra could see the happiness on her brother’s face as he exchanged vows with his bride. The dull part was nearly over, and the reception was fast approaching.
She stood alongside her siblings and parents for a few photographs with the bride and groom but were dismissed shortly after as Clementine’s family were next for the photographs. Mummy and daddy would have to wait about for some pictures with the parents, but the siblings were free to take advantage of the lovely little party her brother’s wife had arranged for their guests. She danced with William, and Lucian and Lysander as well. The food was delicious and the company of her sisters was always a treat. All in all, as far as weddings were concerned, this was a gorgeous one.
