 Wild and bereft assassin is born Fin opened one dazzling sapphire eye. The room they were in was spectacular, even with fuzzy eyesight. Gold and crisp white everywhere. The walls and furniture where gilded and ornate. A huge fireplace just in the bedroom, with crystal decor on the mantle, and a chandelier bigger than the Eiffel Tower hanging in the centre of the room. And the rest of their obnoxiously large suite was just as lavish and opulent. Fin had spared no expense when he had booked this trip for their anniversary, and he was sure it was decadent enough for Jovi's tastes. He glanced at the crystal clock on the wall over the fireplace. He had ordered breakfast for them last night, to be delivered at nine on the dot and not a minute sooner because if anyone woke them up too early on Valentine's Day, they would lose their head. Fin didn't get very many opportunities to sleep in, but this morning, after not getting up at stupid o'clock, he felt amazing. Waking up to the fiery beauty laying next to him helped immensely with that good mood, and Fin slipped carefully out of bed, tiptoeing to the bathroom and then returning to the bottom of the bed, where two trays filled with all of their favourite breakfast dishes sat waiting. Fin raked a critical eye over the food before deciding that he was happy with it. There were no apparent house elf germs, and it was piping hot, clearly freshly cooked right before it was sent up to them. He smiled and picked up one of the red roses off of Jovi's tray. Putting it between his teeth, he crawled onto the bed stark naked, and arranged himself in a sexy pose. Valentine's day. A whole year of dating Finley Avery. It was quite nice. It was certainly one of her longest relationships and he was most definitely the hottest guy she'd ever dated, although he wasn't the richest he still had quite a bit to his name and to prove it, he'd taken her away for the weekend. Venice was beautiful, even Jovi could appreciate its unique scenery, especially when it was Fin she was waking up next to.
Jovi's hazel eyes opened and took a second to adjusted to the brilliant natural light that flooded into the deluxe room. She smiled at Fin recalling their wonderful first night in the hotel. "Hey there, handsome." She said, her voice a little croaky but clearing with each word. She smiled at Fin and ran the back of her fingers over Fin's cheek. He was definitely one of her sweeter boyfriends, possibly even the sweetest. "Such a perfect way to wake." She said, waking in the best possible mood she'd woken in in absolutely ages. Dropping her hand gently, Jovi sat up in bed, the white linen falling to her lap and showing off her lace nightdress. "Something smells delicious." She said, leaning forward and brushing her lips gently against his, careful not to catch them on a thorn on the corny rose in his teeth.

Wild and bereft assassin is born Her lips were soft on his, and he would have drawn it out longer and pulled her back under the covers for some sexy time but their breakfast was calling to his stomach, and he didn't like the idea of letting it go to waste. Fin wiggled his eyebrows as she commented on the delicious scent wafting through the room. "The food doesn't smell too bad, either," he said smoothly, taking the rose and tucking it gently into Jovi's tousled hair. His gaze wandered south just a little bit. That nightdress was sexy as hell, it was hard not to stare. Reaching over to the marble nightstand, Fin grabbed his wand and used it to summon the trays of food up on to the bed. At home it would have pained him to have food on his own bed. The mess! The potential crumbs and spills! He was horrified at the thought, but in a hotel it was completely different. Someone else would clean it all up before he even had to look at it again. He pulled a corner of the blankets over his manhood, not wanting an errant piece of bacon to fall off the tray and burn his bits. He did put the sausages to shame, though, which put a smirk on his face. He stabbed one with a fork and waved it at Jovi. Mm, Fin was adorable, cheesy but also cool at the same time. He tucked the rose into her hair and Jovi couldn't remember having a boyfriend as romantic as Fin. It was amazing and made her ever so happy. She supposed this was what a proper relationship was supposed to be like, although she'd never have expected Fin to be as romantic as he was. She'd always thought of him as hot and definitely thought of him as fun after she'd accidentally discovered he was a death eater, but super romantic? It was a pleasant change of pace for Jovi who had always told her boyfriends just exactly how to spoil her. Having one that could think for himself made her think that this could be a lasting kind of relationship. It had already managed a whole year, perhaps if the next twelve months went smoothly then she'd perhaps consider whether or not Fin was marriage material, for now, Jovi thought it was too much to think about and she was way too young, but she was turning 20 in July so maybe she'd feel a bit more mature, although she was sure as hell going to keep having her girls nights out, her date nights with Fin, and cave in to whatever whim she had at the time. Jovi watched her boyfriend waving a sausage about on his fork, giving her a giggle, "Maybe I'll have a taste of your sausage later." She said, picking up her own fork and stabbing into a couple of sliced mushrooms.

Wild and bereft assassin is born Fin chuckled at her cheeky reply. "I'll hold you to that," he promised, twirling the fork with the sausage still speared on the end. "And to the wall while I rip your dress off." Would he really rip her dress, though? He knew she was quite besotted with it. They were going to a Venetian ball later, masks and all, and Fin had bought her her dream dress for the occasion. It had cost a small fortune, he might not be too comfortable with ruining it, either. Only time would tell how he felt in the moment. They ate breakfast quickly, having a bit of sight-seeing planned before the big night. Fin had all of the cliche romantic things on their to-do list. A ride on one of those little boat things was planned for this morning, and they were soon heading out of their lavish suite and out onto the streets of Venice. Fin took Jovi's hand in his. "Sei bellissima," he murmured in her ear. "Mmm." She smiled as she chewed, the breakfast as delicious as she had expected. It hadn't gone beyond her expectations, but that was probably because Jovi was extremely confident that Fin would only pick the very best of rooms in the very best of hotels. Being pinned anywhere by Fin was a thrill. He seemed to enjoy the foreplay as much as she did, unlike her previous boyfriends that were mostly all the types to think of themselves, luckily Jovi was excellent at getting her own way, but she really shouldn't have had to put in so much effort. With fin she didn't have to. Fin was pretty much the perfect boyfriend. He was the perfect boyfriend, in fact. Jovi was still waiting for him to slip up somehow but so far there was nothing she could fault him for - other than his daddy issues, but he seemed to hide them pretty well, usually. "Mio caro," She smiled, leaning in against him as they walked hand in hand along the streets of Venice, "Flattery will take you everywhere." She told him, a sparkle in her eye as she turned her head to take him in, surrounded by one of the most beautiful places in the world.

Wild and bereft assassin is born They were on a boat. There was a name for the boat, but Fin couldn't remember what it was. He didn't really need to call it anything anyway, it was a boat, they were sitting in it, and there was a guy singing really loudly as he steered them under tiny bridges and past tiny houses. The whole city was beautiful, it didn't matter where he looked, he found himself in awe. The singing was a bit too operatic for Fin's tastes, and he was of the very strong opinion that he would do a much better job himself. "I can sing better than that, right?" he asked Jovi quietly. He could. He couldn't do opera, but he had a bloody good set of pipes on him, and he could play piano and a bit of guitar thanks to his mother insisting that he learn when he was a kid. Apparently a pureblood man should have many talents, however useless they may seem. Well, now it didn't seem so useless, did it. "Imagine me, standing right there, the boat rowing itself, because muggles are idiots, me playing the guitar and serenading you." Could Fin sing better than that? Well sort of. Jovi was a fan of the operatic style. She found it powerful, stirring of strong emotions and any music that could make Jovi feel was good by her. Although of course when Fin sang she was immensely turned on, which she considered and a strong emotion. "Hmm." She said, her brow furrowed just a little, her eyes slightly narrowed and her lips a little pouted, clearly pondering away at his proposed scenario. "And in this scenario, would you be shirtless?" She ran her finger down the front of his jumper. It was winter now, but her birthday was in the summer and she'd certainly enjoy a gondola ride with Fin serenading her.

Fin bit his lip, wondering if he could shove the Gondola guy into the water and have his way with Jovi right there in the boat. It was pretty cold, she might not go for that. "For you, baby, anything," he told her, leaning in to kiss her a little too passionately for company. He pulled away, his nose touching hers. "Now tell me I'm the better singer or I'm coming back when it's dark to kill this guy," he murmured, for her ears only. Anything. Just the word Jovi loved to hear. Fin was the perfect boyfriend and he made their first anniversary even more romantic when he leant in towards her ear and muttered words that sent chills all over her body. If her eyes could change colour to match her mood they'd certainly be a fiery red, full of passion and blood lust. Jovi turned her head to face Fin and looked over his perfectly chiselled features, she ran the back of her left hand over his perfect cheekbone, "You're far superior in every way, but you should kill him anyway." If Fin would stand and slash the mans throat right now Jovi would have been in heaven, just watching the man's crimson life force draining all over the gondola would put Jovi in such a passionate frame of mind.

Lunch had been served and Fin had ordered the finest champagne for them to drink. The city was spread out beneath them in all its glory, but Fin couldn't take his eyes off of Jovi. She was far more beautiful than a bunch of ancient buildings. The way her hair blew in the breeze, her lips on her champagne flute, her eyes shining vibrant green whenever she looked towards the sun. Thoughts of rings ran through his mind as they ate and chatted, easy, happy in each other's company. He thought it might scare her off if he popped the question too soon. She was younger than him, what if she wasn't ready for that kind of commitment?Merlin knew Fin was ready, his dad had pressured him his entire life, and now that he'd found Jovi he knew that he wouldn't hesitate if he thought she'd say yes. The morning seemed to pass by in a flash, the afternoon was upon them and lunch was simply divine. Time with Fin was so effortless and free. He was one of the few people Jovi felt comfortable being herself around. She didn't have to hold back any strange parts of her personality that others might deem psychopathic, he never accused her of being spoilt or bratty, in fact whenever she seemed to be heading that way he could head it off, or join her in it. He was fun and gentlemanly and just about everything Jovi wanted in a partner, especially his bank account, so when he leant across the table and asked if he could ask her a question, she nodded her head, looking expectantly at him, hoping for something exciting and rhetorical like 'would you like to go on a shopping spree', 'would you like to have your hair styled by talented Tommaso Mancini', 'would you like to slaughter the muggles of Venice' all of which would obviously be a resounding 'yes'. "Of course," What would it be, she wondered.

He paused, meeting her gaze for a suspenseful moment before finally speaking. "Are you happy? With me? With us?" As soon as he said it he realised how lame it sounded, but he needed to know. Jovi was hard to read, and though he was getting used to it the longer they were together, and he could meet her needs pretty effortlessly, figuring her out on deeper levels was difficult. She seemed happy. She seemed content with him, and he didn't doubt his ability to make her happy, but hearing her confirm it would be a huge boost for him going forward. Jovi was expecting something exciting, something more than just 'are you happy?'. To be honest it kind of fell flat and Jovi's body slumped a little with disappointment at the question. She was happy, Fin was the perfect boyfriend so why would he be asking such a thing? Unless he wasn't happy himself? "Where's this coming from?" She asked with a bit of a frown, her lunch in front of her, forgotten, "Are you breaking up with me?" She looked insulted, her mouth agape slightly. She didn't get broken up with, and especially not on an anniversary. She was the one that did the breaking up and if he thought for a second that he was going to get in first, well he was sorely mistaken.

Wild and bereft assassin is born "What!?" Fin sputtered. That was not the reaction he had been expecting, which only confirmed just how hard Jovi was to read. "No! Why would I bring you to Venice on our anniversary to break up with you?" He wanted to laugh but thought that might piss her off, which was not what he was going for today. "I'm bad, but I'm not that bad." That was a lie, he would dump anyone anywhere if he felt like it, but that was before Jovi. He'd never liked anyone the way he liked her. He'd never wanted to make someone happy, the way he wanted her to be happy with him. Urgh. Love was hard, and he did love her. "I'm just checking that you're having a good time with me. I'd hate to think you were... going without in any way." He shrugged.
