One step at a time, Heath made his way slowly up the stairs. Even with his nose stuck in a book of Palmistry, Heath was aware of his surroundings, even if he did walk at a snail’s pace while reading. It was exam time at Hogwarts which meant a lot of cramming anytime you could fit it in, Heath was brushing up on his divination for tomorrow's exam, although he was certain he was going to ace it with Divination being one of his best subjects, but he'd not dedicated a lot of time to Divination so he was focusing his energies on it tonight. Luckily for Heath he found the castle easy enough to navigate, although the stairs could be a tad tricky from time to time. Tonight was no exception as the staircase began to move with him still on it but Heath’s gaze didn’t break from his book, he simply reached out his left hand to the handrail and kept himself steady, his eyes following the sentence he was on as though he was sat reading his book in the common room. The only problems he’d encountered on his evening wanders of the castle while reading were the occasional other person or dull lighting, and either way both of those things were easily overcome, he simply avoided the other person with a glance up to make sure it wasn’t someone he knew that he was ignoring, and with bad lighting he simply created a little ball of light that hovered overhead, above the book. Tonight, thankfully, there seemed to be no people and no darkness, however the stairs were taking him the longer way back to the common room. Heath didn’t mind. He’d just carry on reading and still make it on time back to the common room before curfew came into effect.
The top of the staircase scrapped into place against the edge of the corridor and came to a halt. It caused Heath to sway just a little but he was soon letting go of the rail and making his way up the remainder of the stairs, his nose still happily sunk into his book. The new corridor was well lit compared to the one he would usually have taken back to the common room so Heath knew there would be no need for his wand. As he came to the second last line of his page he held the book with his left hand and then his right took the bottom corner of the page. His eyes took in every last word before he swept the page over, the page carrying his eyes over and up to continue the sentence he was on from the previous page. The night was calm, the book was deeply interesting, and there was another set of footsteps coming up from behind. Heath let his eyes get to the end of the sentence before he took a glance at the page number and lowered the book, closing it as he did. Heath wasn’t alone and so with a quick glance over his shoulder, he looked to see who was walking the same path as him tonight.

Give me love like never before 'cause lately I've been craving more "That should start working in about ten minutes, my love," Madam Pomfrey told her with a warm smile. Lucy nodded as she was shooed out of the Hospital wing quietly. She hadn't really had a choice but to visit, she'd spent so much time revising over the last couple of weeks, that she was getting headaches regularly. She'd spent most of her night holed up in the library studying Ancient Runes for her exam first thing in the morning, and had only stopped when the throbbing ache in her skull became unbearable. She'd considered just going to her dorm and trying to sleep it off, but she'd honestly never felt pain like it, not in the form of a headache. She had overdone it, and now she was paying for it. Luckily Madam Pomfrey had a quick elixir on hand to give to her, and it hadn't been the first time she'd needed it. She was advised that studying until the wee hours of the morning was not necessarily the best thing for her, and not to worry too much about her O.W.L's. It was sound advice. She was smart, she'd do just fine in her exams, and rest was just as important as jamming as much information into her brain as possible. There wasn't much more she could do. Luce meandered her way through the castle, soft light from the torches lining the walls guiding her way. Every now and then her hand moved to her forehead to give it a rub, as though she could press the pain away with her fingertips, but by the time she reached the fourth floor it was hardly necessary any more. The pain elixir was kicking in, and she could feel herself relaxing as she walked, footsteps tapping out a steady rhythm on the stone floor as she exited a narrow passageway onto the fifth floor. Wait. There were double taps on the floor. Two sets of footsteps. Lucy wasn't alone. She slowed a little bit as she reached a corner, and paused to poke her head around it, brown eyes wide. She wasn't easily scared, but the castle at night could be slightly creepy, especially when you were on your own. The sight she saw down the corridor in front of her was far from creepy, and she half wondered if her elixir was causing pleasant hallucinations. Heath Scamander. His back was to her as he walked, head dipped over a book, but she would recognise his toe if it was the only part of him visible, she was sure of it. Luce had had such a crush on him for years now. He was the most beautiful boy in school. Those luscious lips, that chiselled jaw, large dreamy eyes, and a mess of golden hair that fell over his face just so. She could imagine it doing just that as he tipped his head to read his book, though her view was obscured. The image was perfect in her head. Lucy rounded the corner and carried on walking. If Heath was going back to the common room then they would be walking the same path through the rest of the castle. It was not an unpleasant thought, though with her ever fluffy head she did worry about having to interact with him at some point. Maybe she could just stay back here and trail him. Because that wasn't creepy. He closed his book suddenly, and she watched with wide eyes as he turned his head to glance over his shoulder. Lucy smiled. _______________________ tag: Heath Jarred Scamander words: 629 outfit: School uniform notes: *dreamy sigh* <3 template by izzy[googlefont="Mr Dafoe"][googlefont="Cinzel Decorative"]

A familiar face befell Heath's eyes and he looked down the corridor to see one Lucy Fawcett. She had developed into a rather attractive individual although Heath didn't much care what someone looked like, he saw beyond the physical and looked deep into a persons soul. He could appreciate a beautiful canvas though, and Lucy was someone with whom he could perhaps create a masterpiece, but then so were many other people. Heath was very open when it came to lovers. He didn't care what an individual identified as, what he cared about was what that person, how much good they were putting into the world. Were they givers or takers? Were they selfish or compassionate? Heath was really only interested in spending time with people that lived their lives kindly. He knew that everyone had their moments of weakness where they did things they were perhaps ashamed of, darker moments in their lives perhaps, but as long as they were fundamentally good people Heath would enjoy spending time with them, and Lucy seemed like she fell into the 'Good People' category.
"Fawcett." He smiled back at her in return, slowing to wait for her to catch up to him "Good evening. Been studying?" He asked, it was all anyone was doing at the moment, especially fifth and seventh years, they actually had noteworthy exams right now and the opportunity to cram their minds with as much last minute information as possible was not one to be missed. Although Heath had seen a few Gryffindors goofing off, they probably figured they didn't need to study but their efforts would reflect in their grade, he hoped. They were the ones that never really studied or took lessons all that seriously so it would be interesting to see how they got on after the school holidays, once everyone had their exam results and were comparing in the common room. Heath never felt the need to compare or find out how anyone else did but sometimes you just couldn't help but hear he enthusiastic ones talking loudly about how well they did. Heath usually did exceptionally well but it was never a desire of his to boast about his grades, he knew they were just letters on a page and he was worth more than that, he had talents beyond what simple tests could show and it was the same for every student at the school. Heath disliked the testing system and would have favoured a pass or needs improvement sort of system.

Give me love like never before 'cause lately I've been craving more And now he was speaking, and angels were singing, and the moon shining through the castle windows was ready to burst with happiness and rain little bubbles of love all over everyone. Lucy felt like she was floating along the corridor as she closed the gap between them, and she was starting to think it was nothing to do with the elixir she had been given by Madam Pomfrey, and everything to do with the presence of the most beautiful boy in the world. She cleared her throat, not wanting to make an idiot out of herself by croaking at him like some sort of toad. "Heath, hi," she said, smiling again. Could she smile again if she hadn't stopped smiling in the first place? He waited for her to catch up and then fell into step beside her, her arm gently brushing his. She was too close. She couldn't very well move away now, he'd think she didn't want to walk with him or something. Maybe he'd think he smelled bad. He smelled wonderful, she couldn't have him thinking that. "Yes," she answered. "A little bit too much, if I seem spacey it's just one of Madam Pomfrey's headache potions kicking in." She laughed softly, hardly noticing the pain in her skull any more. It had dulled to a gentle pulsing throb in her temples. She half wondered if she'd manage to make it all the way up to the common room without having to crawl at some stage. The corridor was slightly rosy all around the edges, as though someone had placed a soft blanket over everything. Come to think of it, Madam Pomfrey had told her to sleep well just as she'd left, and there had been a suspicious smile on the woman's face. Had she put a touch of sleeping potion in with the pain elixir to help a stressed student sleep better? Anything was possible, and there was always the fact that it was late, and Luce was overtired. It was probably just that. She shifted her school bag higher up her shoulder. It felt heavier than ever now that she'd loaded it up with extra books to get her through the week, but they were necessary. "How about you? Ready for a killer week?" she asked, wondering if Heath was at all stressed about his exams. He always seemed so chilled, it was hard to imagine anything ruffling him too much. _______________________ tag: Heath Jarred Scamander words: 442 outfit: School uniform notes: *dreamy sigh* <3 template by izzy[googlefont="Mr Dafoe"][googlefont="Cinzel Decorative"]

Everyone was really knuckling down now. Exams were killer but the NEWT students seemed to have it worse than everyone else. They were really feeling the pressure and with good reason, the exams they were taking were setting them up for their future lives outside of Hogwarts. If they didn't get what they needed for their careers then they could say goodbye to their wanted profession. Heath supposed there was always the chance of resitting the exams, but he wasn't sure how many people were actually going to do that. Heath wasn't doing so bad with the stress because he wasn't really stressed. He knew better than to get worked up by anything in life really, but having stress induced headaches sounded awful and he had a genuine sympathy for Lucy, "I'll keep that in mind. Powerful stuff from what I've heard." He said with a little chuckle. The amount of students having visited the hospital wing due to some form of stress was concerning but Heath figured they were in good hands. Madam Pompfrey was a gentle and caring matron, as long as you behaved yourself that was. Heath imagined she'd be able to put a student in place with a firm tongue lashing if they stepped out of line.
Heath smiled a knowing smile, it wasn't smug but it was certain. He knew what he knew and that would be enough to get him through his exams. He needed a bit of refreshing, which was what his studying was for, but beyond that all the knowledge was there, tucked away, waiting to be used. "As ready as I can be, I think." He could have done more to have been ready but then that would have involved extra studying and he didn't want to be one of the students in need of medical help just for an exam, "I'll be glad when it's all over." He told her. He was willing to bet a lot of people would be relieved once it was all over, and at the end of the week there was the bonfire down by the lake for everyone to enjoy before heading home the next day. "Looking forward to the bonfire?" He asked, hoping that veering away from talk of studying would help her feel a little less tense, although the potion from Madam Pomfrey was probably going to help more than talk of a social gathering by the lake.

Give me love like never before 'cause lately I've been craving more "Yeah," Luce nodded. "Powerful." But not as powerful as the effect it had on her when Heath ran a hand through his golden hair. Or when he looked at her with those mysterious blue eyes. Merlin, she sounded like a bit of a creepy stalker, but honestly, she couldn't really ignore how lovely he was to look at. Could anybody? Well, actually, none of her friends had ever mentioned fancying him, but maybe that's because it had never come up before. Phoebe knew about Lucy's crush, but aside from her cousin, she hadn't mentioned it to anyone, so why would they bring him up in conversation. Maybe they all wanted a piece of him and she was just oblivious to it. There was nothing wrong with admiring someone, anyway, and her crush was perfectly healthy. Perfectly. Like his butt. That was perfectly something, too. Especially in his school trousers, which seemed to cling to it just so, and holy moly, she was a creepy stalker! He mentioned the upcoming bonfire, and Lucy's eyes lit up. She was looking forward to that more than anything. Just being able to relax and have fun with her friends was definitely something she needed. And having the whole school come together for the same reason was always a buzz, everyone was always on such a high, with exams over and summer holidays approaching. It was definitely one of her favourite yearly events. "I can't wait," she answered with a bright smile. "Music, dancing, marshmallows, summer nights. Are you going?" she asked, feeling instantly stupid for asking. There were a tiny minority of students who wouldn't be attending for one reason or another, it was highly likely that Heath would be there. Why else would he have mentioned it? She could feel a slight blush creeping to her cheeks, but she ignored it in the hopes that it was dark enough that he wouldn't notice. 'Play it cool, Luce. Play it cool,' she told herself as she tried to force her embarrassment away. They reached a staircase, and she began a heavy ascent, tiredness washing over her with every step. She focused on getting up the stairs in one piece. _______________________ tag: Heath Jarred Scamander words: 400 outfit: School uniform notes: *dreamy sigh* <3 template by izzy[googlefont="Mr Dafoe"][googlefont="Cinzel Decorative"]

Whatever Lucy was going through, Heath hoped she got through it in one piece. Stressing so much you made yourself sick, or studying too long you screwed your body up, was never okay. There was far too much importance placed on these exams and people were suffering the consequences of not looking after themselves properly. What these people all needed was a good dose of nature. As well as Madam Pomfrey's cure-all, that was. Heath was no healer but whenever he was stressed or not feeling all that great, a trip outside and a walk around the grounds always helped his should to heal and in turn, the rest of him. Thankfully the bonfire would do that for everyone that attended. It was down by the lake and there was plenty of nature for everyone. Some pumpkin juice and food, hanging out with friends and knowing they were released of the burden of exams would give the students a good high. Of course there would be those students that were still worried about what their grades would be, but there was nothing anyone could do for that type, not even a spiked punch bowl could help those pour souls.
When Lucy asked if he'd be going, Heath's smile widened and he nodded his head a couple of times. "Yeah," He would definitely be going. He would need to recharge his batteries with a decent sleep, "Figured I'd head down and let off a bit of steam. We've only got a few left now and then we'll be out of school." Heath was always looking forward although he never worried about what the future would hold because the universe would always sort itself out, it would always come back to it's own neutral balance. Yin and Yang was very real.
