Rodolphus,
That's Lilith's opinion of her, not mine. If it were up to me, brother, Meadowes would be invited. You know I like her, she's a laugh, and I enjoy her company, but I can't do anything about Lilith's views. She doesn't know we serve the Dark Lord, and is in the dark about Dorcas' current status. Those are not my secrets to spill, so I'm afraid she's going to have to keep on thinking what she thinks. She's stubborn and judgemental, dealing with this side of her is a small price to pay for a fine wife. Closed tight is an understatement.
Wonderful. I won't ruin the surprise for them, I'm sure they'll be thrilled. You are ever the considerate brother, a quality I hope you hold on to when planning my stag night.

Rodolphus,
Keeping it in the bridal party wouldn't be a bad idea. Lyra and Liv are a little looser than Lilith, they'd likely make good company for you for the night. Unless you go stag, I can't see you getting a harem. A Lestrange without a date, however, would be fine pickings for every single woman there. Do what you like, just no blood traitors.

Rodolphus,
You know how long I've been waiting for this, it's been a nightmare. Don't be a dick, Rod. Lilith's got her knickers in a twist, and I need to untwist them before I can get into them. I'm sure you're not short of women to take...

A Rose Among The Thorns The black cloak sat heavily on Rabastan's shoulders as he stood, still as a statue on the small podium in the back of Twilfitt and Tattings. It was thick, designed for winter, with a strong warming charm imbued into the soft material. "You're all done, Mr. Lestrange," the seamstress said softly as she gave the hem one last tug, making sure it was sitting at the perfect length for Rabastan's frame. He couldn't deny that it was perfection as he gazed at himself in the mirror before him. The cloak swished as he stepped down from the small box, the inner lining revealed as he moved, a rich silk in a beautiful sage hue that he had picked out himself. It was his favourite colour, and it looked mighty fine on his new cloak, if he did say so himself. His hair was long, maybe too long, the tips kissing his shoulders as he admired his reflection, deciding that he was happy with his purchase. "It's a fine cloak," he complimented the woman. "I'm sure I'll be wanting more over the coming months." He would indeed be ordering more, but for now he was happy with just the one to stave off the autumn chill. His long hair helped as a barrier from the cold, though he would be getting it cut soon enough. The seamstress hurried off to her next chore, and Rabastan turned and began to weave his way through the shop towards the exit, doing a double take at the sight of a blonde woman looking at children's clothing. She held up a small outfit meant for a baby, pale blue cloak and booties to match, and Rabastan watched for a long moment, the sight of a childless mother lost in dreams holding him captive longer than he might have expected. "Narcissa," he breathed, taking a few steps closer to the woman, who was one of the most graceful and beautiful pureblooded women around. "Is this nostalgia or necessity?" he asked gently, stopping at her side, his eyes fixed on the tiny robes as he imagined he might have a child of his own to fit in them in a year or so. He could hope, at least. He was set to marry Lilith next month, and he hoped that they would be able to produce an heir quite quickly, but he had no idea of the fertility of the Burkes. Lucius hadn't a clue Narcissa would have so much trouble carrying his child when he had married her. You really couldn't predict these things, but Rabastan hoped beyond hope that he wouldn't befall the same cruel fate as the Malfoys. _______________________ tag: Narcissa Astrid Malfoy words: 466 notes: <3 template by izzy[googlefont="Nothing You Could Do"]

Rodolphus,
I'm sure you received your invitation to the wedding. I'm having some issues with the plus one on your invite. Lilith would rather not have Meadowes at the wedding, and she may castrate me (and you) if you bring her. I'd like to get to my wedding night intact. Who are you bringing?

To The Better Couple The food was delightful, as expected, and though they were still new to each other, still learning, Rabastan was feeling more and more comfortable as time passed. He was an easy man to deal with in general. Fair, laid-back, good sense of humour. There was really nothing to worry about with him unless you said or did something to piss him off, then he would smash your face into the table with no warning and beat you senseless, but Lilith was never going to be someone he would raise a hand to. She was perfection. He knew she wouldn't be able to keep it up all of the time, there had to be a side to her that was completely undone, relaxed, off duty, messy even. A side that was kissed with sleep and confusion, a side that was vulnerable and needed help or extra care, a side that was angry and out of control. She seemed like a woman who would even shout at you in a prim and proper way, and though it amused him, he knew it couldn't be true. And he couldn't wait to see her undone. She was easy to talk to, polite, though there was always an undercurrent of subtle humour about her, and he found it easier to pick up on the longer he spent in her company. His glass was empty yet again, and though he wasn't even close to inebriated, he felt light and cheery as he flirted with her across the table, his dark gaze drinking her in without shame. "You know how to keep a man happy," he smiled, referring to the wonderful food she was plying him with, but thinking she wouldn't falter in other areas, either. "I cannot wait to see what is for dessert." What he wanted for dessert more than anything was Lilith, herself. He admired her openly, eyes moving over her lips, her neck, that dress, which clung to every curve in a way that was incredibly unfair on him. Eventually his gaze dropped to the table and he bit his lip to try and suppress a naughty smile, though it showed anyway. He was losing control with every drink that he had, and soon enough he would be kissing her or more, and likely offending her and being sent home with his tail between his legs. He was already thinking of what flowers and gifts he would send in apology for getting too frisky with her. It was inevitable. _______________________ tag: Lilith A. C. Too Much That Time Cannot Erase Rodolphus was eager for the break of a night on the town with friends, and Rabby grinned as he began to plan, already thinking of Aurora's safety for while he was out. He was many things, despicable, a bully to those beneath him - and rightly so - and arrogant, but he was a good father, and nobody could deny that. Anybody who tried would face Rabastan's wrath. He wouldn't hear a bad word about his brother unless it was deserved, and more often than not it was, but badmouthing his parenting skills would never be called for. Even when Aurora skipped into the room, echoing her fathers words and asking what a cunt was, that still didn't make Roddy a bad father for using foul language around her, it just made him a loud-mouthed tit, a title owned by Fin Avery, though sometimes Rodolphus deserved that crown. Rabby scooped Aurora up onto his knee as she climbed on him, and gave her a squeeze, not missing Roddy completely ignoring her question. Was that what you did with children of her age? Ignore any awkward questions and pretend they were never asked? He supposed she was too old now to believe she had misheard the word. Lying to her might just hurt her feelings, so Rabby followed suit and failed to answer her. "Did you find anything new in your room?" he asked her, being answered with a squeal and an excited detailed account of the presents she had found in there. He had known she would like it all, but he hoped it didn't take the shine off of her actual birthday. He was of the firm belief that a princess could never be too spoiled, and could never be showered with too many gifts, no matter the occasion. And a princess she was, wizarding royalty, as Rabastan's own children would be, if Lilith ever opened her legs. He pulled out his wand as Aurora rattled on, unable to keep still on his lap as she gave him an animated account of things he already knew, and with a few swirls in the air, he had written a quick fire message and sent it to each of the lads, hoping they would all be free to play. A night off, a night of mayhem and alcohol would do them all good, not just Rodolphus, and the eldest Lestrange might find some woman - or multiple women - to take his mind off of his soon to be ex wife. _______________________ tag: Rodolphus Adalrich Lestrange words: 435 notes: Finito! <3 template by izzy[googlefont="Nothing You Could Do"]

To The Better Couple Rabastan smirked as she shifted closer to him on the sofa. "No, I'm usually pretty forward about how much I'm enjoying myself," he told her, his face turned down to hers as he marvelled at her beauty; the curve of her ruby lips, the delicate line of her jaw, the perfect skin at her throat, which his tongue longed to trace. He was relieved when her house elf announced that dinner was ready - well, mostly relieved, there was definite disappointment there, too - and he took her hand in his, standing and helping her to her feet. "Shall we?" Ever the dashing gentleman, he escorted her to the dining room, which was set out beautifully, as always. He never expected anything less than perfection from Lilith, because she never provided anything less. She was a woman who had the highest of tastes and desires, and if they weren't met, he would dread to think what the consequences might be. He was yet to see that side of her, but Rabastan was confident that he could provide her with the kind of standards she was accustomed to. He pulled her chair out for her, and then took his own seat beside her, pleased that they were sitting close, close enough to touch. Close enough for him to be able to lean over and kiss her if he wanted. Close enough for him to be able to throw her on the table and tear that dress to shreds. He swallowed hard and took a gulp of his drink, soft piano music drifting through the room, elegant and light, just like Lilith herself. "You always outdo yourself," he smiled at her, aware that in actual fact, she had done none of this, and it was all down to the blood, sweat, and tears of her house elf, but that didn't matter. House elves didn't matter. This fine evening was all at Lilith's request, and therefore she got credit for every last element of it, including the divine food that sat in front of them. It was enough to distract Rabastan for a short while, and though he still had thoughts of eating his food off of Lilith's boobs instead of the fine china it sat upon, it was a duller desire than it had been minutes earlier, and he had a small amount of relief from his urges. _______________________ tag: Lilith A. Too Much That Time Cannot Erase "And maybe I'll get Mopsy to chop your dick off while you sleep," Rabby replied with a grin as Rodolphus talked of a hat-trick with all three Burke sisters. His brother's words came across as a joke, but Rabastan wouldn't be shocked in the slightest if Roddy made a move on Lilith. If he hadn't already. Rabby didn't know whether he wanted to find out or not. If Rod had fooled around with Lilith in the past, neither of them had mentioned it to him, and maybe that was for the best, because Rabastan knew he would be pissed about it, and the last thing the Lestranges needed right now was for the brothers to be fighting. Surely Roddy would have bragged about it at the time if it had happened. Telling himself that, Rabby pushed the thought aside, dismissing it for now. He'd stew on it later, or the next time he was drunk, then likely take it out on whoever was the most annoying person in whatever bar he was in at the time. His glass clinked against Roddy's as they toasted to freedom, and he felt genuinely relieved for his brother. Rodolphus and Bellatrix had been brilliant together, but things had gotten far too dark and stressful of late. To see his brother having a fresh start would be a wonderful thing. Wonderful and hilarious when Rabby sent Mudblood women his way regularly, Imperiused to believe they were Pureblood, so that Roddy would have no reason to suspect them otherwise. There was a smirk in place on Rabastan's face as he imagined the fun that was on the horizon, and the prospect of Roddy knocking up a Muggleborn and getting roasted by their parents. "And to fun," he added. "We should go out and celebrate. Get some of the lads together and make a proper night of it." Lucius and Fin would be up for a night of fun, Rabby thought, maybe a few others. He would invite his soon-to-be brother in law, Lucian, only the man had no idea that his future family and associates were Death Eaters and things could get rowdy when they were all together, pissed and off their faces. It could be a bit of a shocker for him. It might be best not to terrify Lilith's brother until after the wedding. _______________________ tag: Rodolphus Adalrich Lestrange words: 413 notes: <3 template by izzy[googlefont="Nothing You Could Do"]

Spring Gala Rodolphus fawned over Lilith, trying his best to get under his baby brother's skin, but Rabby shrugged it off. It would be too much of a scandal if Roddy stole his brother's fiance, their family had had enough of a shake up with the divorce for Rodolphus to be foolish enough to deliver another social blow to the Lestrange name. Rabby merely flicked a brow and grinned, nodding down the table to Evie and leaning in to his brother. "I think you'd actually make a pretty good pairing with Miss Nott over there. Think about those heirs, all dark and almost handsome like their father. Don't you think, darling?" He turned his smile to Lilith, who would possibly give Rabastan a fair haired son that looked nothing like him, but either way, he would have a son. Or three. He wouldn't mind a daughter, but three boys sounded nice when he thought about it. Making those three boys also sounded nice, but winter was a long way off yet. If only Rabastan wasn't so loyal, Evie Nott might have at least been of use to one of the brothers. Alas, he wouldn't be straying. Engaged was engaged. His dark gaze swept over the table, giving a small nod to Nick Bellrose opposite, and an appreciative glance - a very, very fleeting one - at Raina Beaumont beside him, before glancing further down the table to where the gregarious journalist Tersha Knight was sat. Beside her was Rabastan's former co-worker Dorian Humbert, and beside Humbert was Meadowes, her hand on Humbert's thigh as she gossiped with Knight. It was a pretty unremarkable picture as far as Rabby was concerned, nobody doing anything unexpected of them, though Dorian looked rather uncomfortable, which made Rabastan shake his head. "Agent Humbert, an Auror. He's a good man." Not that it mattered. Humbert was not a supporter of the Dark Lord, but from what Rabby had gathered from working with him over the years, he tried his best to stay out of such matters altogether, which was better than being one of the many foolish people in the Ministry who liked to spout off about hating the Dark Lord. Humbert had more sense than that, and Rabastan had actually gotten along fairly well with him. "Why do you ask?" he turned back to Rodolphus, curious as to why he had picked Humbert out of the crowd to inquire about. _______________________ tag: Rodolphus Adalrich Lestrange , Lilith A. C. To The Better Couple Rabastan took the drink from her and kept his gaze either on Lilith's beautiful face as she spoke, or on the coffee table. It really was the safest thing to do if he didn't want to stare at her inappropriately. Not that it was actually all that inappropriate, they were to be married, if he were going to stare at any woman like she was a piece of meat, then it should be Lilith. She really didn't need to dress in such a provocative way, though. Rabby didn't disapprove at all. Nope. Not one bit. But it was cruel to so brazenly display what he couldn't yet have. Sure they could mess around a bit, but it wasn't enough. It wasn't the same as full on screwing each other's brains out - something he would never refer to it as out loud to Lilith, since he figured she was far too much of a lady, and would probably loathe the term. There were so many things to be considerate about around her, Rabastan was used to being around people who had been raised well, he was, he was one of those people, but he had also had women in his bed who were so far from ladylike they didn't even know what it looked like, and that was fun. Having to treat someone so sensitively when you were used to being rougher was hard. Really hard. Oh, so hard. Hard, hard, hard. "There must be something interesting about it if you choose to do it every day," he said shrewdly. Did she think he wasn't the type to appreciate shallow conversation or idle gossip like she dealt with in her job every day? Rabastan liked to think of himself as a good listener, he could handle most topics pretty well. She tried to shift the conversation onto his day and how his job must surely entail some thrilling moments. Rabby cleared his throat. He could tell her some stories, yes. His job so far as one of the Minister's Guard had been mostly uneventful, but there had been a few moments where his Auror skills had been required. He wasn't allowed to speak of such things, though, not if he valued his job, which he did very much so long as it was useful to the Dark Lord. Instead, he opted for a lighter tale. "Oh, yes," he nodded, biting his lip to quell his smile. "I got to see old Sybil spilling sauce on her cheap suit today at lunch. Gripping stuff." He laughed, sipping his drink and eyeing Lilith again for a moment. _______________________ tag: Lilith A. C. Lestrange notes: <3 template by izzy[googlefont="Nothing You Could Do"]

Too Much That Time Cannot Erase It sounded like a typical fight between the couple, but Rabastan still couldn't hide his smirk of amusement at points of his brother's tale. Hearing how much they literally tried to kill each other during arguments was hilarious to him, but it really wasn't an appropriate time to thoroughly enjoy it like he usually did, and so he held back, giving the occasional "hmm" or passing comment. He believed that his brother was doing the right thing in divorcing the maniac. Bellatrix had been becoming more and more unhinged over the years, especially since becoming a mother, it was best to be done with her and get rid of the association. Aside from sharing Aurora, they didn't have to be linked to each other at all, and that was best for the Lestrange family. Allowing a Black to drag their name into the mud was unacceptable. Rabby had gotten along quite well with Bella when they were children, considered her a friend, but he'd distanced himself from that friendship as the years had gone on. He was a perceptive enough person to be able to see that she was on a unique path all of her own, and Rabby didn't want to be anywhere near where she was headed. La La Land was not on his list of dream destinations. "Fuck it," he announced, standing up and pouring himself a drink, topping his brother's glass up from a bottle in the cabinet on the far wall. "On to the next one!" And the next one had better be completely sane and respectable. "Anyone you've got your eye on? I believe there are two available Burke sisters if you want to emulate your baby brother's success." Rabastan chuckled as he teased his brother, crossing the room to stand beside Rodolphus and clinking his glass against his. "To freedom." And to finding someone to give him an heir, though Rabby couldn't toast to that since he secretly longed to be the first to provide a male heir in the Lestrange family. If he and Lilith could conceive right away after their wedding, they could have a son within a year of the impending nuptials. Roddy still had to find himself a suitable woman and marry her before he even had a chance. Unless he wanted a bastard heir, of course, that would be hilarious. Women would be lining up down the street for a chance to impress the eldest Lestrange, though, so Rodolphus wouldn't be looking for long. Time was ticking. _______________________ tag: Rodolphus Adalrich Lestrange notes: <3 template by izzy[googlefont="Nothing You Could Do"]

Spring Gala "Steady on, Lilith," Rabastan responded with a look of mild concern that was all too fake. "There's sarcasm, and then there's just plain horror." The thought of having this, this very event, be their wedding was indeed horrifying. He couldn't imagine anything worse. Getting married in the middle of Diagon Alley with a horse for a priest wouldn't be that much worse. All joking aside, this cute little party would pale spectacularly in significance to the Lestrange-Burke wedding, and so it should. Some minister wannabe would never be able to outshine even the lesser of the sacred twenty eight. Just look at his beautiful fiance, dazzling compared to all of the women in the room. They were in a league of their own, and as soon as Rodolphus found himself a new wife in the same league, they'd be complete as pureblood royalty. Actual pureblood royalty. Unstoppable. Unbeatable. One million percent more attractive than everyone else in the room - minus Roddy's dramatic eyebrows, thank Merlin Aurora hadn't inherited those. And of course, Rabastan's sons would be just as mighty and revered when they were born. Dinner was about to be served in the dining room, and Rabastan pulled Lilith to a gentle halt, looping her arm through his and escorting her towards the dining room right away so as to avoid having to rub up against anyone else in the crowd that would no doubt be surging like cattle towards the house. He spied Rodolphus on his way in, Evangeline Nott hanging off his arm. She would make a fine wife for his brother, dark and beautiful, pure, and a Death Eater. The couple split as they were shown to their seats, and Rabastan and Lilith were lead right behind Rodolphus to be seated beside him. Rabastan held Lilith's seat out for her, not at all surprised that they had been seated right near the head of the table next to the Minister herself. If that didn't speak of status, then what did? "Brother," Rabby greeted Rodolphus quietly as he took his own seat beside his brother, used to being up close and personal with Minister Galanis for work every day. Being by her side was second nature to him now, so much so that he didn't bat an eye at the seating arrangements. Maybe she'd done it on purpose to make herself feel slightly safer for the night. Keeping one of her personal bodyguards close by, even if he was off duty for the night. Smart in Sybil's eyes, foolish in the eyes of a Death Eater who, off duty, was more than willing to kill her on the spot if given the order by the Dark Lord. But, dinner first. Rabastan was famished. _______________________ tag: Lilith A. C. To The Better Couple The cheesiness either went right over her head or she just accepted it, but either way she seemed to enjoy the roses, and swiftly sent them off with her house elf to no doubt be put on display somewhere where they'd gather dust for a week and then be thrown away. She probably had flowers like them in every room of her house, but it didn't matter, it was a token of affection and he would always make an effort to make her feel thought of. They weren't married yet, but if they were to be happy together, efforts had to be made, no matter how small and seemingly silly. Lilith invited him to sit again, and he did, turning to face her and finding it impossible not to look at her boobs in that dress. He gave an apologetic chuckle, knowing he hadn't hid his glancing very well. Well he was was only human! To be able to keep his hands to himself was a bloody brilliant achievement when you thought about it, especially considering how she always dressed to impress. Being polite was hard. Oh, so hard. Really, truly, just... hard. "Sorry," he grinned. "You really do look amazing." Rabastan cleared his throat. "So how have you been? How was your day? Distract me." If she didn't, he'd be leaning across the very small gap that was between them and kissing her, and to hell with what she thought. Hearing her talk about work, or her family or whatever other things she had going on in her world of late would be helpful. Also a large table for dinner. Anything small and intimate would kill him off. How would she feel about being flung on a small table and having her dress ripped off? Probably not too good, but he thought she might worry more about the torn dress than anything else. He knew her views on sex before marriage, and that was all very respectable, Rabastan would honour that, but good Merlin their wedding night was going to be intense. Why wasn't she talking yet? She needed to end his torture before it started to show in more ways than just roaming eyes and awkward laughter. His pants weren't exactly loose as it was, there'd be no hiding anything should the need... arise. _______________________ tag: Lilith A. C. Too Much That Time Cannot Erase Rabastan sighed wistfully with a cock of his head. "Ahh, I look forward to her teenage years when she calls me that and worse," he retorted, making a mental note to hex Roddy's dick with something nasty if Aurora ever called him Uncle Horse Arse. She was such a sweet girl, she'd never come up with it on her own though she did have a far better chance at such language with her mother still running around with her head attached to her neck. Alas, Rodolphus was right, not only would Aurora hold a grudge when she was older and found out who killed her mother, but the Dark Lord had a certain attachment to Bella. Weird as it was, Rabby could not risk displeasing their master, not even for something like this. "You are right," he nodded. "Maybe it would be best to disgrace Bella in the Dark Lord's eyes, instead. I'm sure there's room for his opinion of her to lessen." How hard could it be to change the man's mind? It might take months to slowly damage her reputation and hinder her climb to the top of the Death Eater ranks, but it was achievable. Death was preferable, but needs must. "In the meantime, Aurora always has a safe place to stay here," he mused, knowing it would be difficult to keep Bella from the child. There were wards on Rabastan's house, as there should be on any self-respecting wizards home during a war, Bella would not get in easily, if at all. If she did, she'd likely have no eyeballs and be walking on stumps instead of feet thanks to the spells in place around the manor. They were to be brought down only to allow the passing of a very short list of people these days. Sad, but necessary. Anyhow, if Rodolphus ever needed to hide his daughter away, Rabastan would always be an option for his brother. He watched the older man with a careful gaze. "Do I get to hear all of the juicy details of how exactly you told her she was no longer a Lestrange?" he asked with a half smile, thinking it must have been quite the blow up. Roddy and Bella never did things by half. It was a shame she had become such a bitch over the years, because if she'd been willing, they'd have made quite the glorious duo. It seemed she had other ideas, though, but Rodolphus would not be without a wife for long, there would be women queueing up for miles for a shot at marrying into the mighty Lestrange family. _______________________ tag: Rodolphus Adalrich Lestrange notes: <3 template by izzy[googlefont="Nothing You Could Do"]
