Ingrid was the second daughter for Diane and Grant Morganspell. They were not a well off couple and lived with Grant's parents, sharing the family home. Ingrid always liked that she had her grandparents around because there was always a grown up to run to with a problem, and always someone to go over the head of someone else, not that she did that too often ...
At the age of 3, Ingrid's magic started showing itself. She would float down the chocolates that were on the top shelf of the pantry, or she'd magically snatch a toy off of Farrah that she suddenly decided she wanted. She grew out of that, at least, but her magic only got stronger.
As Ingrid and her sister got older, rooms were added to the family home with magic so that they could each have their own space. Ingrid was 6 when she got her own room and no longer had to share with Farrah and she was kind of lonely. It seemed so much bigger in the night, even with a little light so she could see. She had her toys to keep her company, but for the first month of having her new room, she was always climbing into someone else's bed. Eventually she started sleeping in her own room and as she got older, would practically live in it.
When she was 11, Ingrid was accepted into Hogwarts. She loved shopping for all her books, but there was nothing more special than her wand. Of all the things, she had been most excited about getting her wand.
Once at Hogwarts, having travelled on the train and across the magnificent lake on the boats, Ingrid was sorted into Hufflepuff. It was a quick decision by the sorting hat and Ingrid joined the applauding table where she met some girls that would become friends for life.
Ingrid tried her best in her school work, but a few subjects, such as Herbology and History of Magic were just a no-go. She struggled with them to the point that she just gave up on them. She did what she could but biting plants and boring wars were two extremes that she and no interests in. What she did excel in was Transfiguration. She was a whiz and ahead of the class.
Life after Hogwarts saw her working at the Ministry. She started in the Atrium on the front desk and worked her way into the accidental magic reversal squad. She used to like her work, she used to enjoy the atmosphere of the ministry, but then it seemed like all of a sudden a gloom took over and working at the ministry has just about everyone on the edge of their seat. It's uncomfortable to say the least, and so many things fly against her better judgement, but there's a reason she stays. As part of the order of the Phoenix, she's privy to information quickly, like muggleborns experiencing their powers for the first time. The Ministry is depressing, but Ingrid knows they'll win it back some day.
