30th of October, 1949 - 32 cypress, phoenix feather, 11" |
HISTORY Mother: Angela Jennifer Baron Pine, 50, muggle Father: Kenneth John Pine, 50, muggle Siblings: Dorothy "Dotty" Autumn Pine, 18, Gryffindor, born Nov '62, muggleborn Partners: None currently Others: None Boggart: An emergency with her sister where she does something wrong every step of the way and not only does she lose her sister, but her sister suffers every step of the way. Mirror of Erised: Lion, because she's a true Gryffindor at heart. Her happiest memory was seeing Hogwarts for the first time and knowing her life was truly changing forever, for the best. Also becoming a big sister, she adores Dotty.
Henrietta Summer Pine came from a muggle family and was an only child for quite a while of her life. Her parents had her straight out of high school. They were two kids just fooling around when they got pregnant. They joined together in holy matrimony pretty fast to appease their religious parents and found themselves in their own rental home, with a bouncing baby girl before the even left their teen years, but they were anything but irresponsible, they both got jobs they hated to make ends meet.
Despite having gotten involved so young and not really knowing one another, Angie and Ken made their relationship work, it was tough at first and eventually the two fell in love. They had a common goal; to give Hetty the most perfect life either of them could imagine. Take her on holidays, give her whatever she wanted and pay for her school trips, every single one she ever wanted to go on.
The time came for Hogwarts. Hetty and her parents were stunned when the wizarding world was revealed to them. They visited Diagon Alley and Hetty was amazed by the world around her. This was sure to beat the school work she'd been doing in her primary school!
At primary school Hetty had been an average student. She didn't know a whole lot about Maths and Science but the second she got her Hogwarts school books she was like a child possessed! Nothing could keep her from reading as much as she could and she even read up on Hogwarts, it's history and all about powerful witches and wizards.
The train journey was incredible and Hetty, as quirky as she was back then, made a few friends and enjoyed the ride. She tried new foods she'd never tried before like chocolate frogs, bertie botts and other strange things. She heard the term muggle out loud for the first time and giggled to herself. She just knew she was going to love Hogwarts.
The ride across the great big lake was the most incredible experience of Hetty's young life. Hogwarts was a sight to behold in the dark, all lit up and beautiful to anyone witnessing the ancient castle come into view, illuminated by the flames of the torches within its stone walls. She hoped she would get to do this every year but as only first years had been asked to come she doubted she'd get the opportunity to do it again, so she made sure to enjoy every single splendour.
She got to the castle and anticipated the sorting ceremony. Some older kids mentioned something about fighting a unicorn. Hetty felt certain that she wouldn't be asked to fight a unicorn to discover her house for the next seven years, there had to be another way, right?
The sorting ceremony was a huge relief, it wasn't fighting a unicorn, or a werewolf or making a potion that turned back time because all of those things sounded horrible and completely out of reach for someone that had never practiced proper magic before.
Hetty's name was called just over half way through the sorting. The number of her fellow first years that surrounded her had dropped considerably and she sat on the three legged stool while the sorting hat was placed over her head and came down past her ears and eyse. An unexpected voice sounded in her ear that made her jump slightly. She didn't realise that the hat actually talked to you, she had just thought it shouted out the house you were going to be in and sang a little song!
The hat spoke to Hetty and weighed up her options. It came down to two. Ravenclaw for her ever expanding thirst for knowledge of the wizarding world or Hufflepuff for her kind, generous nature, her fairness and level head. The Hat was weighing up and then it whispered a little something in her ear, it threw in a third possibility, one that would do her well, help her get through Hogwarts and life, somewhere that would challenge her and not just in an intellectual way. Overall it was decided that Gryffindor was best for her, the hat 'hmm'ed and 'ahhh'ed its own decision over in its head until she heard him shout to the hall 'GRYFFINDOR'. The hat was removed and Hetty grinned, excited to be placed and to join her new family at Hogwarts, Gryffindor.
Hetty's Hogwarts years were full of adventures. She stayed up late studying, not because she had to but because she loved it, she loved everything about the wizarding world. It's history was a little dark in places but so was the muggle world and there were so many similarities it was hard to believe.
Hetty's parents missed the house being so empty and began trying for another child. No sooner had they started trying in December they found out they were pregnant in February so during Hetty's first year her parents announced the news that they were pregnant and Hetty was ecstatic and home sick, all at once.
Hetty's baby sister was born in the beginning of November. Like her big sister, baby Pine was a Scorpius. Hetty was thrilled to have a baby sister, especially one so close to her own birthday, and spent all her time at the Christmas holiday that year, doting on her baby sister.
Every school holiday there was, Hetty spent all her time on her sister. The two grew very close and played many, many games. Hetty told her younger sister all about Hogwarts and what a wonderful place it was and that she'd one day be going there too, the thought that her younger sister might not be magical had never crossed Hetty's mind. Luckily for the two of them, Hetty's younger sister was magical and revealed her powers in the most extraordinary of ways, a sight Hetty will never forget.
Despite having a thirst for all things magical Hetty wasn't a straight O student. She struggled to retain information over long periods of time and found it difficult to study. All her essay's would come back with E's or O's and come exam time she'd get E's and an occasional A.
Come time to leaving Hogwarts Hetty felt a little heart broken, the castle had been her home but at least now she could spend a little more time with her sister before she was going to go to Hogwarts, at least that was the plan, unfortunately Hetty's chosen career path took up a lot of her time both on the job and with the studying required. She didn't get to spend as much time with her family a she hoped but it was more than when she'd been away at Hogwarts, although only because she was living at home while she worked and studied.
Hetty went to learn at St Mungo's to become a healer and mediwitch. She passed all her theory with flying colours and the hands on bits went even better than was expected of her. She was neat, courteous and always offered a friendly smile, she learnt how to calm the angry and cheer up the unhappy with her softly spoken words, glowing eyes and fiercely addictive smile. Training as a mediwitch meant that she was away from the hospital a lot too, she was taken to all sorts of sports games, mainly quidditch with an occasional quadpot match thrown in and saw many gaming injuries and which soon became her specialty.
Games weren't the only things she was there to train with, she was sent to those that couldn't make it to hospital and required home visits or were in a state of emergency. She loved her job but not long after her training was over she found a new passion. Quidditch.
Hetty wasn't the most stable flyer at Hogwarts and thus never made it on the team. She wasn't the type to try out though so it never really mattered too much to her but during her time as a mediwitch out on the field, she enjoyed the pure brutality that was quidditch. Hogwarts students played nothing like the real men and women of the game and Hetty loved it. OOC Play By: Felicia Day Your Alias: Coco!
