Boggart: Ha! Colt is fearless. FEARLESS!! *ahem* Don't tell anyone, not even a single soul but ... penguins.
Mirror of Erised: Himself kicking a penguin square in the crown jewels, watching it fall into the sun. There are so many hot women there that were so impressed that they all start fawning over him and ... you know. And then there's not enough of him to go around so they all start to, you know, with one another.
Patronus: Colt doesn't have a patronus, but you can bet your sweet aunt Fanny that it's a damned penguin.
Have you ever been a spare to your parents heir? Well Colt has, and he can tell you it's not a particularly pleasant place to be. Always looked at as second best Colt never enjoyed being his brother's shadow and so he chose to remove his brother and make it look like an accident. We're jumping the wand a bit here so let's back up.
Colton Louis Travers was born to Pure and Ben Travers one whole year after his brother. To the day. Colton had to share his birthday with his brother. He had to share everything with him. Or so it sometimes felt, in reality it wasn't even sharing, more not existing. It was a horrible life. Talbot got many more presents and Colt got forgotten. Talbot got the big cake and Colt got a cupcake. Talbolt got massive celebrations and Colt got 'We'll celebrate your birthday next year, darling.' so was it any surprise that he loathed his brother? That he despised the boy with every fibre of his being?
At Hogwarts Colt was sorted into Slytherin but at home his mother was cooing over a daughter, not caring that her second born son had been sorted into the family house, not only was he still in his brother's shadow but he was also overshadowed by an infant sister. He was every bit as great a student as his brother, but it didn't matter to his parents they only cared about Tal and his grades. Colt was left with a bitter aftertaste in his mouth when he tried out for the Frog Choir only for Tal to get his place. Colt hated his brother and delved into the dark arts, looking for ways to get revenge on his brother, only to come to the conclusion that he could not only get revenge on his brother, but his entire family. Colt carried on with life, becoming Prefect and Head boy, but quietly he was plotting away the perfect crime.
After Hogwarts, and not a single ounce of recognition from his parents on his achievements and grades, Colt was snapped up by the ministry, believing that they, at least, could see the talent within him and he got a great position right away in the International Magical Trading Standards Body. It was a good job and he enjoyed not having to start out in some puny position.
Life was carrying on, Colt even becoming a Death Eater, but all the while he was silently plotting away. Eventually it was time. He'd stood as best man at his brother's wedding to the suspicious Zabini witch that looked down her nose at him, as though because he was the spare to an heir that he wasn't worthy of her attention. Still, it wasn't long after his brother had been married that Colt enacted his plan.
He made it simple, he kept it obscure but possible. A Christmas tree. His brother was nearly done chopping it down when Colt rooted his brother's feet to the spot. He cracked the rest of the tree and it came falling down on Tal, hitting him square in the head and killing him. It was incredibly anticlimactic but the job as done and it was good enough for Colt. He returned to his alibi and then awaited the news of his brother's passing.
Naturally Colt put on a show when it was needed but behind cold doors he was smug, callous even. The spare was now the heir and he could not have been happier. A year after his brother's death he got a promotion at work within his department. He fooled around with woman after woman and ignored his parents nagging that it was time to find a bride. Eventually they nagged enough an the told them to send him suggestions, all of which he found flaws with. To this day his mother still insists that he settles down and he's promised to meet a few ladies, although there's not a chance in hell he'll settle down, it's just not his style and besides, he likes pissing his parents off by rejecting everyone they send his way.
