Nora was the second born little princess to Aveline and Jacob Willoughby. She happily lived in a world of her own, noticing only her reflection and not much about other people. She was about as self-centred and self-involved as it was possible to be, and she still is to this day, but that’s what makes Nora so great. She’s simple, in almost every sense of the word. She’s predictable in almost everything that she does. She’s honest, sincere and she’ll never lead you on, at least not intentionally. Ever since she was little, Nora’s mind could change at the drop of a wand, but anyone that knew Nora knew how flakey she could be, and it was never a surprise when she turned around and did something completely different to what she had been intending to do.

When she was ready for school she followed her older sister, Apolline, to Beauxbatons. She made a few friends there but honestly, she wasn’t too bothered with them. They were all smart and often talked about things that she didn’t understand. Needless to say she hasn’t really stayed in touch with them, although they reached out to her when her dad died and she actually appreciated that.

During her school years Nora didn’t join any clubs. She tried to get a modelling club going but no one really seemed interested. She was allowed use of the hall, though, so she kept going every week and practised her modelling walk. Some people would sneak a peek and have a laugh at her expense, but Nora knew they were just fans that couldn’t get enough of her.

Her dating life through school was quite busy. She had a bit of a reputation but most of it was unfounded. A lot of guys would make up a lot of stories about her and it didn’t matter what she said, people would never believe her, sometimes even her friends looked as though they doubted what she was saying and so she just stopped correcting them. She grew a thick skin and it became near impossible for anyone to hurt her feelings.

All through her life, Nora has been obsessed with her appearance. She takes particularly good care of herself and laps up praise. When she’s in a genuine relationship she becomes a lot to handle and many guys don’t last long. She needs a lot of reassurance, her self-doubts often come out and her partner gets to see a side of her that no others get to see, not even her sisters. She firmly believes that if she puts a lot of effort into her outward appearance, then no one will look too far beneath the surface.

After Beauxbatons Nora got a job teaching dance. She had been raised on ballet and it was her area of expertise. She was long and graceful, and performed plenty during her years at Hogwarts. While modelling had been her dream, she fell into a dancing career and fell in love with it. Being a teacher versus being a student was a completely different experience. A job that was supposed to just hold her over until she found something in modelling turned out to be the greatest thing of her life. She moved up to a prestigious French dancing school only for a UK contact to reach out. The pay was right, more than right in fact, and so Nora moved to the UK in 1979 and worked for Celeste School of Dance. In early 1980 she lost her father. She returned to France to be with her mother and sisters but she was soon back in the UK and resuming her lessons. She’s a stern teacher, but she at least lets the little ones have fun, she doesn’t want to destroy the children’s love for dancing like her teachers had almost done to her, but she wishes to foster a keen sense of discipline, something as equally important as passion, in her opinion.
