Vietnam, October 1964, Chi Poi gave birth to her second daughter in the back of a van she was living in with her three year old, Holly. She didn't live in Vietnam, but a long visit with family had resulted in a pregnancy, and shame and all that rubbish. She was already struggling to raise Holly, and now she had little Autumn to worry about, too. Her family were embarrassed, and she honestly didn't have a clue who Autumn's father was. She had lied about Holly's father and said he'd died just so she could stay in her parents good graces, but honestly, there was no hiding this one. She had shown up single, and they were never going to buy the lie that she'd forgotten she was married to some made up man. Oh, well. Off she went again, in her little van. The family travelled a lot, stopping in some pretty lovely corners of the Earth, as well as some nasty ones.

By the time Autumn was five, she was a confident little girl, having a lot of life experience under her belt, and was happily playing with kids every day in the local park near where they had stopped in Ireland. Her mum was friends with this nice man called Jimmy, and Autumn thought it was weird that he treated her mum like she was a princess. Her mum was no princess, Autumn had seen her cry and barf and poop before they could get to the nearest toilets, but Jimmy O'Hara thought that Chi Poi was wonderful, and her mother began to believe it, too. Slowly, over time, their life got better. Autumn and her sister were excited the first time they got to live in an actual house. It was only small, and it was Jimmy's not theirs, but he was a really nice man, and he looked after all of them so well. After a few years their mum and Jimmy got married, and Autumn was really happy. She had a dad. It wasn't something she had ever wanted, she was fine with just a mum, but he was a good choice for a dad. It was a good thing he was because when she was nine her mum got hit by the Knight bus and died instantly. Holly was at Hogwarts, this really awesome sounding magic school, and Autumn and Jimmy really bonded during that time. They were his kids now, and he took them on without question, being there for everything, and just being generally amazing.

Autumn was a bit wary of going to Hogwarts, herself, but she was sorted into Gryffindor, and her confidence bounced back pretty quickly once she got her bearings. She made friends with the oddballs of the castle, feeling like she was kind of one, too, and she joined the Quidditch team in her fourth year. She's been Gryffindor Beater for almost two years now, and is having a pretty good time. So is her cat, Poi, who is a complete ho and currently has a litter of kittens in her ho belly. But that's exciting, too. Autumn wants to keep them all, but she can't imagine Jimmy keeping ten cats with him while Autumn is at school, so maybe they'll have to be castle cats, we'll see.
