Boggart: The girls turning around and telling her that they hate her, confirming her deepest fear that she's the worst moth in the world, telling her that they want to live with their father and never see her again.
Mirror of Erised: Her girls and so much gold! She's not a greedy person, but she would love enough that she would never have to work another day in her life and instead, focus completely on the girls and their happiness.
Patronus: Bat - Having Darla and feeling that everything would be fine. If she can get through 43 hours of child birth then she can raise a baby. It's more the feeling of being able to do anything that brings the joy than the experience or knowing what the future really had in store.
A beautiful baby girl was born to a beautiful couple in the south of France. four weeks early, Buffy made her way into the world putting a stopper to everyone's plans. From then on out she was just a pain in the arse, inconvenience for her parents.
As a toddler she wasn't easy to handle. She had tantrums galore and was hard to be calmed. As a child she was definitely a bully, pushing and shoving anyone she didn't agree with. Her parents tried to fix the problem by throwing money her way, gifts and whatever else would keep her quiet for five minutes, but it never worked, not long-term. When the time came for her to go to Hogwarts, he parents were relieved.
Sorted into Hufflepuff, Buffy was a handful for teachers. She spoke up without raising her hand, she never handed her homework in on time, she back-talked to teachers when she was in trouble, and she was always chatting. Hufflepuff's are hard workers? Well, not this one. Or at least not in the first few years.
In Buffy's fourth year she tried out for the house quidditch team. She made the team but her head of house came to her and told her she needed to be on the straight and narrow in all her lessons if she wanted to stay on the team. One talk, just one talk from a person she respected was enough for Buffy to start taking her life more seriously. Was it an inspirational talk? Hell no, or at least it wasn't intended to be, but it was enough that she wasn't talked down to or scowled at that made Buffy want to change. That and wanting to stay on the Quidditch team.
She played as the Seeker all through the rest of her years at Hogwarts, she even mellowed out in her home life, getting along with her parents and siblings better than ever. She fell in love with a sixth year when she was in her fourth year. He was athletic and funny, cool and had a thing for animals. Total heartthrob! Totally unattainable. Buffy just settled for chatting away to her dorm mates about him until they were sick of hearing about him.
Her final year of Hogwarts was life changing. During a trip to Hogsmeade she spilt a butterbeer all over a devilishly handsome guy. He was called Spike, a names she presumed he was just using to seem cool and woo girls, and it was totally working. She bought him another drink after he cleaned himself and stuck around for a chat. They talked for hours before she had to go back up to the castle.
The following month he was there again, walking by. He caught her eye and flirted shamelessly with her. Buffy accused him playfully of being a stalker but didn't deter it, in fact she made promises that she intended to keep if she saw him a third time. The wrote to one another, Buffy keen to keep in contact with the handsome guy she was starting to get to know. He opened up to her, she felt as though they were connecting on a deep, personal level, even if the majority of their interactions were on parchment.
Of course there was a third time, haven't you been keeping up with the story? Spike was who Buffy was starting to believe was the love of her life. They had the sort of chemistry you just couldn't recreate and in an alley, just off of the Three Broomsticks, Spike gave her a present for her birthday. They hung out and when Buffy tried to make an advance, he turned her down. This time.
The fourth time they met was intense. Neither one could keep their hands off the other. The letters had become intense, more provocative, and the pair ended up with a room for the day. Buffy didn't want to leave him that time, but he promised, once she was graduated, that he would be there at the station to pick her up - and he was.
After getting off the train Buffy dropped her bags at the sight of Spike. She ran to him and jumped into his arms, snogging and licking and nipping at him. The pair found a filthy bathroom but that wasn't going to stop them, they went crazy in there.
Spike spoiled Buffy with a long weekend away. He took her to a Hotel in London before he returned her home. She told her parents about a guy she wanted to introduce them to and naturally they were not impressed, even less impressed when a man named 'Spike' showed up on their doorstep, and even more unimpressed when he proposed to Buffy. She said yes in a heartbeat. Naturally her parents objected. She was barely 18 and less than a month out of Hogwarts, she didn't even have a job. She didn't care, she was going to try out for all the quidditch teams and she was going to be a famous quidditch player. She had a huge fight with her parents, Spike taking her side, and then she packed her bags and left.
Buffy moved in with Spike and the pair were at it like wild rabbits, day and night, stopping to hydrate and have toilet breaks, stuff pizza into their faces and fall asleep in each others arms after wearing one another out. The month was great, amazing, the best of her life.
August brought with it sickness. Buffy put it down to catching something, despite the fact that she rarely caught anything. After a few days she saw a healer who did a pregnancy test. Sure enough Buffy was pregnant. Spike was shocked by the news by vowed to stay by her side and all over again Buffy was falling in love, and into the sheets between spells of nausea.
The happy couple wed in September 1963. Their first born, Darla, was born on Buffy's 19th birthday in April 1964. They were a happy family, practically perfect in every way. By the time November rolled around Darla was 6 months old and crawling and Buffy had another positive pregnancy test. Spike wasn't so happy about that one, work was stressing him out but they talked it out and agreed they could and would make it work. In May 1965 Buffy discovered her husband was having an affair. She confronted him and they argued. Spike broke down and confessed about all the stress and sneaking around and begged Buffy to keep him. He broke it off with the other woman and in July 1965 they welcomed Drusilla to the world.
It took a year for Buffy to really begin to start trusting Spike. Their lives went back to normal quite quickly but Buffy kept an untrusting eye on him for a quite a while. In August 1967 they welcomed their third baby, a daughter they called Faith. Life felt chaotic but normal and for a couple of year Buffy was happy and content with their lives.
In 1969 Buffy got a job working at the Avalon Hotel. She started as part of the housekeeping team and over the years gradually made her way up through the ranks. Her work life was amazing and she loved the people she worked with. Her eldest, Darla, was off at Hogwarts in September 1975 and that was when she got an anonymous letter of her own. Someone that claimed to be a mutual friend said in the letter that they'd seen Spike sneaking around behind her back with another woman. Buffy was furious, she yelled and argued and kicked Spike out. He tried to come back a few times but she threw out half of his stuff, the other half she burnt while her youngest two were at her friend's place having some fun 'aunty' time. Buffy was furious not only with Spike but herself. She'd grown to trust him and she shouldn't have. She should have finished with him the first time she'd found out about what he was really like.
Buffy tried not to think of her life as wasted, although the alcohol she was consuming on a nightly basis was not helping anyone, after all she was still young and hot and she'd had kids now who were growing up, she was free to live her life! Once the girls were all off to Hogwarts she took a well earned holiday. She relaxed in the Spanish sun for two weeks before returning to find all her stuff was out of the house. Spike had got removalists in to dump her stuff on the side of the road and had moved himself in - along with the whore he'd cheated on her with.
Buffy broke her way into the home and fought once more with Spike. He called the authorities and they did nothing, both their names were on the mortgage, it was both of their property. Buffy used magic to get all her stuff back inside and set up in Darla's room for a while.
Pettiness happened on both sides. Locking of the fridge, finishing of the others food, loud, unfiltered sex. Buffy wasn't going to lose her family home, this was where she was raising her babies and she would sooner burn it down than let her shit-faced ex steal it from her and move his whore in to her home.
Buffy and Spike made one another's lives a living hell for months, neither willing to concede the house. Spike eventually gave up and moved out when the girls were due to return home. They may have now hated one another but they couldn't upset their girls, not even Spike was the much of a twat, although Buffy wished he was so that her girls could see him for the piece of shit human being that he was.
Once the girls were back at school Spike agreed to back off and let her buy his half off of him. He moved in with his slut elsewhere and Buffy felt as though she could never leave the home again. For months she dreaded going to work or the shops, fearing that once she got home he'd be there again, fighting once more. It was all signed over to her, he had no rights to the house, but the fear was there regardless.
Having the girls home for the summer was amazing. Buffy took them on holiday for a couple of weeks, sharing a holiday home with a girlfriend that agreed to join her so she wouldn't be alone and so she'd have someone to drink wine with in the evenings. It was lovely, and when they got home their home was still their home.
Working hard, Buffy made her way to manager of the Avalon Hotel. She's so proud of herself and her daughters for how they've handled everything, and as a treat she plans on getting their input on a new home. She's not expecting it to go over too well, after all she fought hard to keep the home she was raising her babies in, but now more than ever it's become apparent to Buffy that her babies aren't really babies and she'd love for them to have bigger rooms they could actually use for more than just sleeping or squished studying during the summer. It's been a wild ride in their home, but Buffy feels the need for somewhere calmer, somewhere she and the girls can settle.
