HISTORY Mother: "Madam Puddifoot" - Cheryl-Anne Puddifoot, Hufflepuff Alumna Father: Harry Stonks, Ravenclaw Alumni Siblings: None Partners: Ha! None. Others: Ugh, none. Boggart: Her working in her mother's tea shop. Mirror of Erised: Herself as a successful lawyer Patronus: No idea. Circle back later ... or never. Whatever. Do you know what it's like to have your future planned out for you before you're even born? Mog does and she hates it. For as long as Hogsmeade has stood, so has the quaint little tea shop that was built but Mog's great-great-great Merlin only knows how many time aunty. She was a lonely old spinster but the story goes she was a bloody good baker. She opened the tea shop and it was brilliant. There. That's all you need to know about the origins because honestly, it's all Mog has bothered to remember. Had she paid attention to her parents then she would know that the tea shop had been passed down from generation to generation of Puddifoot witches, even in times when women weren't really looked upon as the business types, although that really applied much more to the muggle world than it ever did the magical. Mog knows that one day she's set to get the tea shop. It's written in stone, as her mother likes to tell her. Her great aunty Mary Puddifoot, who first opened the tea shop, hadn't had any children of her own. She was a spinster with no children of her own and when she was ready to hand over the reigns, she passed them to her only niece, wanting to give another woman of the family a chance at being a successful business woman. This went on for generations, women handing the business down to their daughters or niece, at one stage a cousin, but it always stayed in the family and the women always kept their maiden names if they got married. Mog's mum, Cheryl-Anne also kept her maiden name, although in fairness even Mog prefers to be a Puddifoot over something as gross sounding as Stonks. It's a tough call, but Stonks is just that little more embarrassing. So there's been a successful business in the family for generations, why wouldn't Mog want it? Well it's just not her sort of thing, really. She wants to study hard and become a lawyer. While she acts as though she doesn't care what the people of the world think of her, she's actually quite perceptive and cares at least a smidge! It's the reason why she's never gone by her father's name and it's the reason she'll never work in her mother's tea shop. But who will it go to? Mog doesn't really care at the moment, she has bigger things to worry about like becoming a lawyer. While most of her peers are more concerned about relationships, Mog is focused more on her studies, giving her a reputation. What reputation is anyone's guess, but she's been called 'prude', 'stuck up cow' and 'teachers pet', so really it's all over the place, especially considering she doesn't think any of that is true. Yeah she gets on with her work and rarely gets in trouble with her teachers, but that doesn't make her a teachers pet. And yeah, she may not have interest in relationships, but that doesn't mean she's completely unaware of what to do with a guy in an empty, unused classroom while everyone else is off cramming for exams. Yeah, so it's probably fair to say that Mog, being the driven and ambitious girl that she is, is 100% in Slytherin. She has a few friends but not many. She doesn't get on better with a particular gender like it seems a lit of people her age do, but rather she gets on with people that aren't giant dickheads like the rest of their age group. Honestly, that really limits the amount of people she likes. So while she's focused on her school work and minimal friendships, she's also got to figure out a way to tell her mum that she's deadly serious about never wanting the family business, and it's going to be a tricky conversation given that there's no one else in the family to pass it on to.
