PERSONALITY Boggart: Octavian Greengrass. There's nothing wrong with the guy, he's a perfectly nice bloke, but he married the love of Dyl's life. He took his place. He fathered the children that should have been Dylan's. And it wasn't even Tavvy's fault, he didn't ask for it but he instantly became Dyl's worst nightmare without really having to do anything. Mirror of Erised: He's married to Cordy, and they have a family of their own. She's happy, he's happy, and the world leaves them be. Patronus: Hare - Dyl's happiest memory is the first time he kissed the girl he loves. He holds onto it desperately, even though it's tainted now. Dyl is chill. He is intuitive, clever, and a huge observer of people. He tends to know a lot, but doesn't let on much. He'd rather sit back and listen to conversations than join in with them, unless he has something to say. He can talk, don't get me wrong, once he's on a subject he loves, he can really talk your ear off, and he's got a quirky streak, so you never know what's going to come out of his mouth, but just know that in the quiet moments, he is reading you so well, he probably knows more about you than your own mother. He's a good friend, he will be a shoulder for his mates, and gives great advice but only if they need it, he's never one to shove his opinions in other's faces. Dyl is very accepting. If life throws a spanner in the works, he will simply work around it rather than confronting it and trying to remove it. He has a loving heart, and though he can be a bit of a dreamer, he's reliable, and someone any of his friends or even just acquaintances can turn to if they need a hand. Dyl is in love. He's been in love since he was at school. He had plans to run away and marry Cordelia Goyle, they had it all planned out. He was smitten, she was his dream girl, and she would be his wife once they graduated. Only she was forced to marry her best friend instead, and Dyl never saw her again. He left her be and respected what she had to do, but he hasn't opened his heart up to love again since. He's had the occasional flirtation, fling, whatever you want to call it, but it's all been short lived and his heart just isn't in it. Maybe he'll meet someone one day, maybe not. He's a little bit broken in that department. Dylan won't have enemies. Or at least, he shouldn't. He doesn't rock the boat, he lives his life and lets others do the same, he's not one to stick his nose in where it isn't wanted. He was a pureblood at school, so left alone in that regard, and in his adult life he's managed to get by without causing any rifts in the ocean. He's a good lad. Why would you dislike him? If you start an argument, he will defend himself, he can be mouthy when you get him riled, but he'd rather not be in that situation in the first place. Dude, chill. HISTORY Mother: Charity Brightwell, 41, pureblood Father: Jess Brightwell, 42, pureblood Siblings: Brendan Brightwell, twin brother, pureblood Callum Brightwell, 18, pureblood Brooke Brightwell, 16, pureblood Partners: Don't ask. Others: Cordelia Grace Greengrass , pureblood, love of his life, married to someone else Dylan Brightwell was the first born child of Jess and his wife Charity, older than his twin brother by four minutes. He was a content baby, hardly even fussing or crying, he settled into life well, and his parents never had any complaints about him. They had two more children not long after, and Dyl enjoyed having lots of siblings. He was a good team player, he could get along with most people easily, even if it was sometimes a big effort for him. He always made the effort and that was just who he was. He was quiet and smart, creative and a little bit quirky in his tastes. He would dress himself in clothes that didn't quite fit the current fashions, just because he liked the patterns or how the material felt. He would wear his hair sticking upright instead of styling it nicely like his brothers did. He thought it looked cool. It did. He was sorted into Slytherin when he went to Hogwarts, which surprised his parents, but not Dyl. The hat read him well, just like he read others like open books. He was perceptive, intuitive, and the information he did absorb from others, he kept to himself. Maybe to use it some day, maybe just to quietly judge others. It didn't matter, it was how he worked. He made friends, one girl in particular being someone he was drawn to more than anyone else at the castle. Cordelia. She was as beautiful as her name, and Dyl fell hard, though he was too young and awkward to do anything about it for a long while. He did well in school. He favoured lessons like Astronomy and Charms, even Herbology. He was good with his hands, and could often be found making things in his spare time. Little wooden bird houses, or fairy houses that he would take to the edges of the Forbidden forest and hang in the trees. He would take Cordy with him, too. Sometimes they'd see fairies living inside his creations. He kissed her there for the first time, with the fairies. He'd been so nervous, but he had felt like it was the right moment. It felt special. It felt memorable, and she kissed him back. Elated, Dyl and Cordy began dating in secret. It was their little thing. Everyone knew they were friends, but their kisses were just for them, and it was perfect. They talked about what they would do after school, get married, start a new life together somewhere amazing. Cordy had been putting off telling her parents, but she promised she would do it. Dyl was excited. Until she relived the conversation with him. His heart sank so low he thought it might make a loud metallic ringing as it hit the floor. They'd told her that she was marrying someone else. Not just someone else. Her best friend Tavvy Greengrass. Dyl knew Tavvy, he was a nice guy. A bit loud, but a lovely guy. Cordy would never hurt her best friend like that. Dyl had thought that he might be her best friend, too, but apparently not. Tavvy won out, and she married him after graduation. Dyl pulled back. He didn't want to deal with that. He couldn't be part of her life, watching her with her fake husband. He also didn't want to hurt her, making a fuss would just deepen the wound for her, and so he took a step back, then another, then a hundred more, until he was out of her life for good. Dyl threw himself into work. He had always known what he wanted to do for work, and it was time to focus on that instead of his shattered heart. He studied wandmaking with the Ollivanders. Who better to train him up in the craft? He was lucky, really, but he had shown a talent in it, and so the famous wandmakers took him on, and Dyl has been proving to them for the past few years that he is worth it. He's doing really well. And in his spare time when he's not at the wand shop, he has a street stall in Diagon Alley where he sells music boxes that he makes himself. He enchants them to play different tunes, some ones that he has even composed himself on his guitar. He's happy being creative and following his dreams.
