There has quite possibly never been as compassionate a Gryffindor as Mei-Xing. From a young age she showed an ability to place herself in the shoes of others, and from that she always tried to do whatever she could to help people or animals of every shape and size. When she was at school, she had been somewhat of a counsellor, lending her ear to many people and helping wherever she could.

Mei is mentally strong and very resilient. She's had to face troubles in her life but because of who she is (and because of all the love and support she had from her parents and Jai) she's gone through it all and come out of the other side. She's adaptable to almost anything and everything, telling herself that there are plenty of people in the world that have it worse than her. She's able to hold her head high and soldier on through life.

A friend to all, Mei has never made an enemy in her life, at least as far as she's aware. She's friendly and kind to everyone and the least judgemental person you could imagine. She's so trusting that she can be taken advantage of (she's pretty darn gullible to be honest) which hurts at the time, but she finds a way to deal with the situation and that helps her to feel better.

In the world of romance, Mei has only ever known one love - her husband, Jai. They started dating in their fourth year and have been with one another ever since. Mei is loyal and adores her husband, there are so many things that she could not have gotten through without him. He came from a rather poor family, but he insisted on working hard for the home they live in. He's a strong and dedicated man and Mei could not be more in love with him.

Born to Akio and Jiao Ito, Mei-Xing was an only child. The couple had decided long ago that they only wanted one child and when they were in their thirties, they had Mei-Xing. She was spoilt beyond belief by her parents. They loved her dearly. Despite being given anything and everything she could ever want, she was an extremely empathetic and grounded person. She had compassion for everyone and everything - even rocks!

With her mother from China and her father from England, the pair decided to settle in Scotland to raise their little Mei-Mei. They frequently visited abroad so that lack of sun was never a problem and they considered it rather cosy.

Being compassionate, Mei would take in any and all animals she thought needed her help. Her parents paid all the vet bills and helped Mei care for them all until the animals could be released or find their forever homes. For a while Mei rescued a lot of stray cats, fattening them up for the harsh Scottish winters before finding homes for them. She couldn't bear to think of something bad happening to them.

When she was eleven, Mei was off to Hogwarts. Her Father had been at Hogwarts, a Hufflepuff, and he was exceptionally proud of his daughter. At Hogwarts Mei was sorted into Gryffindor after three minutes under the sorting hat as it debated between Gryffindor and Hufflepuff.

During her third year, Mei fell in love with a fellow third year Gryffindor - Jai Chang. He'd always been a bit of a pain in the arse, if truths be told, but there was something about him after the Christmas holidays that year that lit something inside of her.

The pair started dating in their fourth year and Mei would later go on to marry the boy, although not before some drama and heartache. In their fifth year, very soon after they'd gone back to school, the pair accidentally found themselves pregnant, somehow having conceived over the Summer holidays without realising. Mei had no idea what to do and she left Hogwarts for a few weeks to figure it out with her parents and the support of the Hogwarts headmaster. Jai and his parents were supportive too, which really helped. Due at the end of April, it was decided that Mei would continue at Hogwarts and have some time off before returning and taking her OWLs. It was all wonderful in theory, right up until her baby came early. In the middle of January she started feeling unwell, having a lot of stomach aches and cramps. She was placed on bedrest for a couple of days while discussions took place as to where she would go. Her parents wanted her home, and the school was happy with that, but Mei insisted on staying at Hogwarts. Her parents agreed and for a month Mei stayed on bedrest in the Hospital wing, chatting every couple of days with her teachers, keeping her mind busy with as much work as possible. Thankfully Jai stayed by her side - apart from lessons and sleeping - and would bring her meals.

February 18th Mei gave birth to a little girl. It had already been decided what would happen with her. Mei and Jai had decided to put her up for adoption, but before that she had to be cared for by Healers. She was moved to St Mungo's and despite knowing it was for the best,  Mei was utterly heartbroken. Even to this day she still thinks of the daughter she gave up and hopes that she is having a happy, wonderful life.

Mei managed to get through her OWLs with passing grades and then a couple of years later she managed to ace her NEWTs. She and Jai were still together come graduation and the pair took to travelling for a while. It was amazing. It was the most care free that she had ever been in her life. She enjoyed the sun and contemplated never returning to the UK.

One summers night, on a small tropical Island beneath the star littered sky, Jai proposed. Mei of course said yes and the pair began planning their wedding, deciding they'd like to have it in the UK.

They returned to Scotland to hugs and congratulatory cheers from their friends and families. Six months later they were married and settled in a beautiful seaside home in the south.

Years passed and animals came and went for Mei never lost her desire to help. She'd gotten a job at The Daily Prophet as a Quidditch Correspondent having loved her days as Quidditch Commentator at Hogwarts. Eventually the desire for children came and the pair gave birth to little Niko. Mei had never been happier. They had a child, a child that was theirs that they could keep. It stirred up a lot of emotions, good and bad, but it was most definitely the happiest Mei had ever been. Since having Niko that had little Cho and Mei feels as though their family is complete.
