Discoveries The night had been memorable compared to the last three transformations Julian had had. It had been months since he'd had the company of another wolf during a full moon, and he hadn't realised just how much he had missed it until last night. He didn't know who she was, but she had ran with him, they had played, hunted each other for fun, nipped, scratched, rolled down hills, and curiously watched each other through the night. His golden eyes had been eager on her, and he remembered her scent, earthy, sweet, not like that of any of his old pack members. She was new. Julian woke with the birds at first light and his first thought was of her. He needed to know who had made his fourth change since leaving his pack so much more bearable. He wanted to thank her, though he never would, for she likely wouldn't understand, whoever she was, but he appreciated her company more than she would ever know. She had made him feel at home for the first time since November. He at least owed it to her to stalk her through the forest just so he could put a face to the scent. Completely naked, he sat himself up in the long grass, squinting against the harsh light, his head already throbbing, limbs aching from the night's activities. He knew where he was, that was good, and his bag of clothes should be nearby. He had hidden three bags filled with necessities around the forest, so that he'd have clothes and water nearby no matter where he woke up. Pushing himself to his feet, he stretched, the chill of the new spring air nipping at his skin, which was still hot from the transformation. Working the aches from his neck, he rubbed a hand through his dirty blonde curls and set off in the direction of the tree with the hollow in the base just large enough for a small backpack. He had been walking for only five minutes when he caught her scent again. The wolf girl. Following her scent, he stepped carefully through the underbrush, his bare feet making no sound, just like hers as she strolled through the trees into a small clearing. Julian stepped out behind her, only able to see her back and her perfect behind. She was still naked. Bonus. "You're going the wrong way, sweetheart," he piped up, wondering whether her face would be as lovely as her arse, though still only able to see a mass of dark hair. "Unless you want to swim across a lake to get back to civilisation." There was a lake on the western edge of the forest, right where she was heading. There was no way to cross it other than swimming, and it would take hours to walk around it. He watched her, stark naked, muddy and unabashed as he waited for her to turn around. _______________________ tag: Cora Calliope Vance notes: *wolf whistles* X'D <3 template by izzy [googlefont="Dancing Script"]

Finding You Merlin, she was struggling. The only alternative explanation for her lack of words was that she just wasn't much of a conversationalist, and Jules didn't like that option, so he went with the version where she was just so dazzled by him that she couldn't form sentences properly. That option made him much happier. He didn't care whether Dorian was a fair instructor or not, he didn't care about the man's work at all, if he were being honest, but Lunete seemed satisfied with her teacher so he nodded along, trying not to give away his real feelings by rolling his eyes, or scowling at his cup of coffee. Scowling around this beauty wasn't something he felt like he could do anyway, she made him want to smile, and that was something to hold on to in such dark times. Besides, Julian knew he had the cutest smile in probably the entire world, and he knew that it made him seem far more lovable and innocent than he really was. It hid all of his troubles, all of his crimes, and his manipulative ways fit perfectly out of sight behind the dimples in his cheeks. To his relief - had he been anxious? - Lunete told him that she would like to go on a date with him, and he found that smile surfacing again as he sipped his drink. "Perfect." Now to figure out what she would enjoy doing. "What do you like to do for fun?" he asked. "Are you a dinner and a show kind of girl, or do you prefer a bit of adventure?" Jules could really take either option, he was fond of a bit of mischief and getting his hands dirty, though he couldn't deny the simplicity of making suggestive eyes at someone over dinner and then finding that person accidentally crawling into your bed later on. He didn't find himself thinking such devious thoughts about Lunete, though, she seemed sweet, more innocent than the types of girls he usual found himself attracted to, but he couldn't deny the attraction. Strange. Maybe it was all an act and she was hiding a devilish streak, he supposed he would find out on this date he was now required to plan, and ideas of fun things to do in the middle of winter flickered across his mind one by one, Julian reluctantly placing the idea of them just keeping each other warm right at the back of the list. _______________________ tag: Lunete Penelope Dearborn notes: <3 template by izzy[googlefont="Dancing Script"]

Blackbird Julian was exhausted. Last night had been the full moon, and he had only gotten home this afternoon, only to sleep until the stars came out again. It was strange having a home to come back to at the end of a transformation, he was used to heading to one of the safe houses with some of his pack, getting his head down for a few hours and then carrying on. This whole having an apartment and privacy was strange, strange but good. So far. He missed the company of his fellow wolves, especially when he was feeling so ill. It was nice to be surrounded by others who felt just as you did, tired, sick, weak. Becoming a monster for the night was something that never ceased to leave a person floored and unable to perform at any kind of functioning level. His head pounded despite the elixir for pain that he had taken... four hours ago. Oh. That would be why it hurt so much, then, he was due another dose. Crossing to his kitchen, he opened the top cupboard, reaching back to the highest corner for the vials he kept tucked away there, and without hesitating he drank the whole thing down, crinkling his nose at the horrid taste. Getting himself a glass of water, he crossed to the window, pulling his tatty blankets tight around his shoulders to protect him from the icy wind as he cracked the window open a few inches, instantly regretting it as the sound of voices from the street below hit his sensitive ears like thunder. Cringing, he cursed under his breath and peered through the curtains to see who was there, wondering if swilling them with his water was an overreaction. Probably, but he was pissed off that people were being noisy at this time of night when he had moping and recovering to be getting on with, it was just rude. Cloudy blue eyes settled on the back of a man's head, dark hair blending into the night, and Julian tried to focus on what was being said as he watched the man hug a small brunette woman. "Waiiiit..." he grumbled, ducking back out of sight again, but then readjusting himself so that only his eyes peeped up at window level, the rest of him not in view of the couple below. He didn't care what they were saying, but the hug was all he needed to feel jealous, angry, and very concerned. His brother, the rat of a thief, and his hot little girlfriend hugging in the street late at night. Was this a normal occurrence for the two? Did Ariel often get abandoned in the apartment while her guardian smooched his little whore on the front step? How fucking incredibly out of order! Julian gritted his teeth, wanting to storm out of his apartment and down the hall to Dorian's, blast the door open and take his niece to safety, but he knew it would do him no good. For a start an Auror wouldn't leave their home without protection spells and wards, so he'd never get in, and second, he'd only just begun his game of getting the man to like him. It wasn't in Ariel's best interests to let anger get the better of him right now, plus he'd probably fall on his face and kill both himself and the baby trying to run for it in his weakened condition. Yet she was alone. Alone right down the hall while the thief and the whore kissed goodbye, and what had they been doing in the apartment? Screwing each other's brains out while the baby slept? His hand was now trembling on the cup and he knew he was overreacting. It was the moon making him crazy, enhancing every feeling that flitted through him, but he couldn't stop it. He watched the Knight Bus speed out of sight, and his brother returned back inside the building, and no sooner did he hear the click of the front door to the building closing behind Dorian, Jules threw his glass of water out of the open window as hard as he could with a growl of frustration, watching as it smashed to a million pieces on the floor where the couple had stood only moments ago. He slid to the floor, tears gripping him as he leaned against the wall beneath his window and gave into the sobs. Sobs of anger at his incompetent new brother, sobs of grief over River, sobs of exhaustion over years of enduring the agony of becoming a wolf once a month, and sobs for his beloved little niece and what she was having to go through. Julian sank further, curling himself up into a ball on the floor, his whole body shaking from the rage and sadness, and the cold that seeped into his bones from the open window. This was supposed to be a fresh start, a new life with a beautiful new person around to brighten it, it was supposed to be something good, but all he could feel was devastation and confusion. This wasn't how things were supposed to be! It wasn't meant to be this way. Julian sobbed until sleep claimed him, and he dreamed of his son, his boy, his everything. _______________________ tag: Dorian Michael Humbert and Dorcas Amilie Meadowes notes: <3 template by izzy [googlefont="Dancing Script"]

Julian Astraeus Blackthorne & Cora Calliope Vance Same year at school, he had a hint of the recluse about him sometimes. They could have kept each other company in the quiet. He'd have found her easy to get along with because she was such a peaceful person, he didn't have a temper back then (well maybe a tiny one), so he was more charming, witty, curious, and she'd have been a soothing place for him to go to. Friends! I've suggested he was friends with @percival , too, so they could have all hung out together at times, and then Jules also had his louder, more popular friends who eventually led him down a dangerous path that landed him a lovely werewolf bite. It'd be nice if he kept in touch with both Perce and Cora, thinking of them as some of the only actually decent friends he had back then and worth the effort (rather than the tossers who left him for dead). I'm thinking hilarious morning after the full moon moment in a forest somewhere. Jules and Cora both wake up completely naked, neither aware the other is a wolf, and both freak out about it in their own ways, that would be the funniest thread. Then she'll have someone to help her get to grips with wolfy life a bit better, and someone to share all of the wolfy drama with and moan about how crap it is and all of that stuff! X'D Christopher Erebus Devereaux & Cora Calliope Vance Keep her away from him because he fancies her. And he'd be able to smell the wolf on her, and then he'd be all confused about what it means that he fancies a werewolf, and that's just a whole world of confusion for him. They might remember each other from school, I think they were only two years apart and the same house, but now she's all grown up and gorgeous... yeah. It's hard to think of people to plot with her because she's neutral! Geralina would totally pop into her book shop at some point, though. XD Gimme more plots!!

Finding You Oh, that could get messy. Chasing after one of Dorian's students might not be the smartest idea in the world, and he could imagine the disapproving looks he would get if he caused any awkwardness around the Auror Academy for the two, but Merlin she was pretty. How could he resist? He really couldn't. And he shouldn't. Not for the sake of the brother he had never known, he didn't owe Dorian anything, and missing out on having some fun with a beautiful girl for the sake of saving Dorian some discomfort just wasn't really worth it. "Training to be an Auror," he said, clearly impressed. "So you're cute and tough." Knowing she was capable of kicking his arse if she wanted to was actually more attractive than he had expected it to be, especially since she was quite petite. The stray thought of how she'd handle him in wolf form flitted through his mind, but he pushed it away immediately, not welcoming the thought of mauling her to death when he'd only just learned her name. "I hope my brother is a fair instructor," he mused aloud. Julian laughed at her apology, shaking his head. "Please don't apologise for it," he told her, hating the thought of her possibly regretting the chemistry between them in any way. "I'm certainly not sorry." He wasn't. He'd stare every single time he saw her as a rule, until she agreed to a date. That was if she denied him a date in the first place, but he'd get to that at a more appropriate time. Like in about five minutes. There was nothing like a surprise to get a real reaction, and she likely wouldn't be expecting him to ask her out five minutes into their first proper meeting, so if he just popped it in there, he'd get a completely natural response that wasn't thought out at all. That was what he was hoping for. In fact, what was the point in waiting? Five minutes in was as good a time as any. Carpe diem. "In fact, I think you should let me take you out some time," he said smoothly, eyes watching her for a flicker of reluctance or a sniff of fear. Fear didn't necessarily mean a person didn't want to do something, but it would be a telling sign. A smile would be nice, he supposed, if he were to admit what he'd really like her reaction to be. One of those stunning grins and a confident "of course" would be just perfect, though he could work with many other responses if he had to. _______________________ tag: Lunete Penelope Dearborn notes: <3 template by izzy[googlefont="Dancing Script"]

The Gift He really should have taken more of an interest in hearing about Humbert when River was wanting to talk incessantly about him after she'd met the man for the first time. Julian had visited her only three weeks after she'd found their long lost brother, and she had gone on and on about him, but Jules had been jealous, uninterested, dismissive, and openly so. He clearly remembered sitting across from her on her sofa in her lovely little house that she had proudly purchased with Bert, and telling her that she already had the best brother she could want, and whatever she could tell him about Humbert would never match up to Jules himself. She had laughed at him, taking it in good humour and carrying on anyway, and Jules had excused himself, leaving Bert to listen to her ramblings. He'd picked up a few bits and bobs from his place leaning against the kitchen counter, munching on an apple and telling himself that he wasn't going to be replaced in his sister's life. It had been a strange feeling, and he'd only stayed for three days, leaving a little bit earlier than planned and going off to sulk on his own for a good six weeks before returning to River again. His next visit was the usual week long, and he was glad he had forced himself to get past his jealousy and stay, since that was one of the last times he ever got to spend with her, only making two other short visits before her death. He had certainly made a fuss over his unborn niece more than the news of his new found brother, and he had been rather excited to be an uncle, something River knew well, which was why it stung that bit more that Ariel was now living with Dorian. No children wasn't a surprise, though, Dorian seemed very straight laced, and living in an apartment with his infant niece didn't speak of marriage and babies really, did it? Dorian had spoken as though it was a regret that he hadn't yet had children of his own, but there was making a general inquiry, and then there was being rude and prying too much. He wouldn't ask why children had never come about for his brother. Yet. The sexy little girlfriend that popped in and out of the building regularly didn't seem the mothering type, either. Jules got the impression just from looking at her that she was the type to sleep around, she was naughty. He knew her type well, often sought women like her out for a good time, knowing they'd both forget each other the next morning after one hell of a night. He wondered how easy she would be to seduce, though his thoughts were cut short by Dorian asking about Julian's own experience with children. Jules would not be talking about Tristan today, or any day soon, not with this man who he barely knew. River might have trusted him after such a short time, but Julian wasn't as foolish or gullible as his little sister. "I've always been good with little ones," he said, gazing down at Ariel as she drank, her eyes, once huge, blue, and staring up at him in wonder, now fluttering closed as the milk sucked her into the land of nod. A soft smile graced his lips as he watched her, thoughts of his son at this age flitting through his head. "It turns out they're simple creatures, people make a fuss claiming they're hard work, but they just need food, love and laughter and they're fine." Maybe there was a little bit more to that, he imagined clothes might be classed as a necessity, and possibly a few medicinal things stored away for those dreadful teething months, but aside from that, he didn't view children as hard work at all. _______________________ tag: Dorian Michael Humbert notes: <3 template by izzy[googlefont="Dancing Script"]

Dreaming of a Family Christmas Dorian gave a pretty good hand shake, and Jules returned it with a grin, half enjoying seeing the older man so comfortable in his surroundings, and half annoyed that Julian was the only one today who would feel like a fish out of water. Luckily he was brimming with confidence and well able to fake it, even if he did feel like the outsider, he would come across as nothing short of happy and settled today. A sense of mind anxiety rushed through him without warning when Dorian spoke of Ariel, and how she was upstairs with Dorcas as they spoke. He wanted to storm up there and take his niece away from... well, who in Merlin's name was she, anyway!? Her family were all very nice so far, but Julian really had no clue what they were doing in Ariel's life. Of course Dorcas fit the role of Dorian's girlfriend pretty well, but it wasn't something Julian would bring up in conversation yet, prying into his brother's relationships was something that required a little bit more familiarity, but if she wasn't his girlfriend, then what was she? His bloody maid? Emily was certainly his nanny, and it annoyed Jules that these people probably spent more time with Ariel than he would get to for quite a while. Swallowing down his annoyance as Dorian took a seat, he nodded. "And I, her. I wouldn't miss it for the world," he confirmed, knowing he would be far more pleased to see little Ariel than anyone else, though she likely would still have no idea who he was. He hadn't been in her life long enough, and despite forcing himself into her world, a few visits and knocking unannounced on Dorian's door whenever he felt like it was not enough to form a strong bond between uncle and niece yet. He would get there, by hell or high water, he would get there, but for now he'd gladly work for her trust and love. She would certainly love him a damn sight more than any of these Meadowes people. Another of them entered the room, this time a tall man with grey hair and a smile that was far too sunny, yet Jules returned it as he shook the man's hand. "Andre, is it?" he checked politely, not wanting to mistake Emily's brother for her husband or something, which would only make his job of feigning comfort that bit harder. "I'm wonderful, and yourself? It's lovely to meet you," he wanted to take a step back away from the man but the tree was behind him and knocking over their tree on Christmas Day wasn't going to be a clever idea, so he took a step forward instead, placing his hand on Andre's shoulder in much the same manner Andre had done to him, and guiding him across the room a little to a spot where Jules didn't feel caged in. "Dinner smells delicious. Are you the chef?" He asked, that charm oozing from him in spades as he pretended he didn't hear the bellowing up and down the stairs between Emily and Dorcas, who very much needed to bring his niece down to see him before he asked where the bathroom was so he could 'accidentally' barge in on her and take Ariel away anyway. _______________________ tag: Dorian Michael Humbert , André Daniel Meadowes , Emily Jane Meadowes , Dorcas Amilie Meadowes and Geralina Amara Drake notes: Outfit. <3 template by izzy[googlefont="Dancing Script"]

The Gift Julian watched his brother carefully as the older man seemed to take a brief moment to consider the proposition as he fussed about inside the large bag of supplies he had brought with him. It really shouldn't have been that big a deal, no more a stress or drama than passing your baby over to your mother or uncle to hold while you nipped to the loo. It was a big deal, though, and both men clearly felt it. It was a huge moment for the newly acquainted brothers, one that would determine the first steps of trust, or some semblance of it, and the first hints of family. Of course Julian was planning in the long run to screw Dorian over where it came to Ariel, but for now, he was happy to plant those false seeds. Besides, this wasn't a game to him. It might have seemed like he was merely being competitive and jealous - which he was - but the thing that drove him the most was love. Love for his niece, and his sister, and that love meant that he would never do anything to harm one hair on Ariel's head. Nor would he ever wish to harm her emotionally or mentally, either, which he knew to be just as important. After what felt like an age of anxious waiting, Dorian passed Ariel over, and the world stood still. Her tiny frame felt like it weighed no more than a feather in Julian's arms as he cradled her tight, hushing and making soothing noises to try and calm her. His cheek pressed against hers as he bobbed her up and down a little, humming an old lullaby he used to sing to Tristan when he was a babe. The feel of the gentle hum against her peachy soft cheek seemed to calm her, and her cries died down, Julian closing his eyes and taking a moment to just enjoy the scent of her, or really, the lack of one at all. It was so lovely he could have stayed like that all night, but he knew her quiet wouldn't last long, and so reluctantly, he moved his hand from her thin blonde curls, where his thumb had been stroking soft circles, and picked up the bottle of milk, placing a kiss on her head before shifting her down to his lap, where she immediately latched on to the bottle, blue eyes lighting up at the sight of it. Julian watched her drink for a minute, before glancing up at Dorian. "Thank you," he said quietly, not wanting to even admit that Dorian had had to give his blessing for the moment to happen, but still wanting to appear grateful to the man. "You seem well adjusted to baby life," he went on. "Do you have any children of your own?"_______________________ tag: Dorian Michael Humbert notes: <3 template by izzy[googlefont="Dancing Script"]

The Gift This little "getting to know you" chat was getting tedious already, and Jules forced himself to continue with it, to be polite, to not just stand up, snatch Ariel, and apparate somewhere they'd never be found. It was very tempting, especially since they seemed to be stuck on the subject of pets. That was a killer, though he liked animals. He didn't want to know what Dorian thought of squirrels, he wanted to know why River had thought him a better carer for her baby. He wanted to know why this Auror hadn't been able to stop his sister and brother in law from being murdered when he'd been right there. He wanted to demand an explanation from this stranger. How could Humbert be sitting there chatting about rodents when he'd let their sister die? It felt like Julian had stepped into an alternate reality where nobody seemed to care about such things. Some sort of pleasant land where you let people be killed and looked after their children once they were six feet under. He wanted to scream at how strange and wrong it all was. Instead, he merely laughed along with Dorian, fixing up his own tea and taking a sip from his cup. "Well that's why you need a cat," he countered, backing up his earlier prediction that the man would end up with one. Dark eyes watched Julian across the table as he sipped his tea, thinking it needed less sugar and more alcohol in it, but it was free so he couldn't complain. At Dorian's question, he decided he might just need to ditch the tea and drink vodka straight from a bottle to cope with the encounter, but he also felt a little thrill of naughtiness at the thought of Dorian finding out where Jules was living. He wouldn't spoil the surprise just yet, though. "In London, yes," he began, pausing to stare at Ariel as she began to wail in her pram. The instinct to reach out and take her, to cuddle her and reassure her was strong. It took everything Julian had in him to not stand and go to the babe, but Dorian was already there, unstrapping her from her pram. "Is she hungry?" Jules inquired, unable to smell anything nasty coming from the tot to indicate she needed a nappy change. He watched for a moment, trying to figure out the best way to ask an awkward question, and then figuring he might as well just go for it. "I can take her while you drink your tea..." he offered, attempting to sound helpful and not at all pushy. "I don't mind." Translation: 'I want to cuddle my niece who I've only just met and if you say no I will hate you forever and plot harder to take her away from you.' _______________________ tag: Dorian Michael Humbert notes: <3 template by izzy[googlefont="Dancing Script"]

Finding You Julian was quite sure that if she continued to toy with the paper bag on the table in front of her, it would end up with a hole in it, but he enjoyed her nervousness, so he made no comment on it. It was cute. Everything about her was cute, especially that smile, it lit up her entire face and Jules couldn't help but stare. She might have been uncomfortable but at least she was talking to him, that was a huge plus since she could have told him to get lost. He was half charmed by how simple and naive her question was, and half disappointed that he couldn't give her a more impressive answer. No, he didn't work at the ministry, he was a lowly shop assistant in a stinky apothecary because the owner had owed him a favour, and also supplied him with wolfsbane to help with his unfortunate lifelong condition that meant he was a murderous beast once a month. Yep. That was definitely what he should have said, but instead, he went for a simple dodge. "No, I was only visiting. Agent Humbert is my brother," he said, going for a happy family vibe, rather than the reality of that weird situation. Dorian was his brother, but it was hardly a happy scenario. Jules hadn't told a soul of his real hopes regarding the man - that he'd fall off a cliff and leave their infant niece in Julian's care - and he felt strange talking about him, but it wasn't as though rudely telling her to mind her own business was an option. He didn't want to scare her off for touching a nerve right off the bat. "What do you do there? If you don't mind me asking," he set his cup back down on the table, sorely tempted to place his hand over hers to stop the fidgeting. He refrained. "I'd like to know which department to go to so we can have more of these staring sessions. I'm quite fond of them." His smile was one of pure mischief as he watched her face for another glimpse of that beautiful grin. She knew his brother, so she was likely a recruit of the Auror Academy. That, or a complete busy body who just knew everyone in the building out of sheer nosiness. He liked to think it wasn't the latter, he had too many secrets to get involved with a curious kitten. _______________________ tag: Lunete Penelope Dearborn notes: <3 template by izzy[googlefont="Dancing Script"]

Finding You There was a softness in the way she spoke her name, though Julian couldn't help but imagine she had a fire in her somewhere. He didn't often connect with gentle souls. Geralina, for example, the beautiful woman he had been sat next to for Christmas Day dinner, was incredibly beautiful, and any man would be lucky to have somebody like her on his arm, but she just lacked that fire that drew Julian in. He had flirted with her, of course he had, she was gorgeous and he was human, but it was harmless. He'd more enjoyed making her feel uncomfortable and delighting in her awkwardness, and rather thought she'd be a nice safe match for his brother if he wasn't already seeing that tiny pain in the arse, Dorcas. Now she was someone who would hold Julian's interest for more than a quick flirt over dinner. She was no challenge, though. He knew he could have her if he really pushed, and she'd be just as wild as he imagined, but it would be too easy. He liked a challenge, he liked the effort it would take to peel back the layers of someone like Lunete and see if he couldn't charm her into following her instincts, which were undoubtedly screaming at her to sit on his knee and have her way with him right there in front of the whole bakery. "Lunete," he repeated, liking the way her name sounded on his tongue. It was one he hadn't heard before, but it wasn't too unusual considering the ridiculous monikers people in the magical world liked to give their offspring. He brought his cup to his lips, sipping the coffee which was just the right temperature by now. "You work at the Ministry," he said over the top of his cup, eyes still on her face as she toyed with the vanilla slice she had in a little paper bag. He wondered if she would eat while he sat with her, or if she'd be the type of girly girl who would be too self-conscious. She was young, it was likely, though she couldn't have been that much younger than Jules. He often felt much older than his twenty four years, thanks to the trials he went through on a monthly basis, they tended to age one's mind prematurely. She was young to be working at the Ministry, though, unless she was an intern, though maybe she had been merely visiting the same as Julian had been, and she had just struck lucky in getting to be dazed by him on the day. _______________________ tag: Lunete Penelope Dearborn notes: <3 template by izzy[googlefont="Dancing Script"]

Finding You She turned, and sparks practically bounced off of the walls when she locked eyes with him across the room. Julian stared. Satisfaction coursed through him to have it confirmed that the ministry hadn't just been some fluke, that no matter how many times she saw him, she would stare and she would feel a pull to him, just as he did to her. His lips pursed as she held his gaze for what felt like an age before forcing herself to tear her eyes from him and take a seat at an empty table not too far away. A smirk soon appeared on his handsome face at the fact that she'd sat with her back to him, likely hoping it would shatter any connection she might have felt, but she couldn't have been more wrong. He was tempted to pull out his wand and magically turn her chair around so that she was facing him, but he knew this town was not just a magical community, muggles lived here, too, and he wouldn't be doing himself any favours by exposing magic in front of them just to get the attention of a girl, much as he would have absolutely loved to see her face if he spun her chair. Oh, well, there were other ways to catch a fish. He stood, taking his coffee with him and bidding a silent farewell to his wonderful window table as he crossed to Cutie Pie's table. Without any invitation, he sat in the chair beside hers, not facing, but right next to her so that he could smell the gentle scent of her shampoo and see the soft blush across her cheeks, possibly a side effect of making eye contact with him moments earlier. Julian set his cup down on the table and leaned in a little bit closer to her as he spoke. "Here was me thinking we had a connection, and you go and sit with your back to me," he chided, clearly joking, the dimples in his cheeks on full show as he tried and failed to hide his smirk. She was even lovelier up close, with beautiful grey-green eyes and lips just begging to be kissed. Once again he made no efforts to hide his admiration of her, and he rested his hands on the table either side of his mug, enjoying the heat that emanated from the hot drink inside. "I'm Julian," he told her, hoping to get a name in return but not ruling out the possibility of sass and a rejection. _______________________ tag: Lunete Penelope Dearborn notes: <3 template by izzy[googlefont="Dancing Script"]

Dreaming of a Family Christmas Emily seemed rather pleased, almost touched, by the gift Julian had brought with him, and he felt a pang of guilt that what he had gotten for her and her husband wasn't actually all that much at all. He didn't know the couple from any other in the street, to be perfectly honest, though he'd gotten the impression that they were a happy bunch just from chatting to Emily that day at Dorian's. They certainly weren't the kind to seem stuck up or too snooty for a good pair of funny slippers, and he got the distinct impression that they were cut from the same cloth as his own parents, which comforted him. She told him that Dorian was in the lounge and to make himself at home while she made tea for everyone, and Julian thanked her with a warm smile, watching as she disappeared, blue eyes shooting a glance at the stairs as he wondered what Dorian's girlfriend would be doing with Ariel up there. Maybe a soiled nappy or an outfit change was needed. He did hope they would be down soon. It wasn't hard to navigate the small cottage, and Jules was surefooted as he made his way into the living area, which was small but comfortable, and decorated for the season with a lovely Christmas tree, which was being admired by one Dorian Humbert. Surprised to see him in anything other than a suit, Jules approached with feigned confidence, holding his hand out to the man. "Merry Christmas, brother," he greeted, thinking any sort of hug type movement might result in awkwardness, and this whole thing was uncomfortable enough without Julian making it worse. He wouldn't have minded a hug, himself, he had been raised to be quite an affectionate lad, much like his sister, who had been rather tactile her whole life. He regarded the tree, and the small ornament Dorian had been admiring, which could have easily been made by a child. Jules had a small tree in his apartment at home. He wouldn't have bothered, only Tristan had been brought to visit and Julian would never stoop so low as to disappoint his baby boy, so he had gotten a tiny little thing and let the boy make paper decorations for it. They were mostly filled with scribble and blobs of lumpy glitter, as was fitting for a two year old, but they made Julian immensely happy whenever he looked at them, probably a much similar feeling to the one that Emily and her husband got when they looked at this tiny bauble. _______________________ tag: Dorian Michael Humbert , Dorcas Amilie Meadowes , André Daniel Meadowes , Emily Jane Meadowes and Geralina Amara Drake notes: Outfit. <3 template by izzy[googlefont="Dancing Script"]

The Gift Jules found himself letting out a genuine laugh at Dorian's attempt at humour. "Well I hope for your sake that she doesn't come into her magic too soon and turn that octopus into a real one," he grinned, watching Ariel bash the toy around, quite delighted with herself. It was almost like watching Tristan at that age, blonde hair, blue eyes, cherubic face. Julian had taken to fatherhood like a duck to water, and his visits to his son when he was only a baby were some of his most teasured memories, just the innocent squeals and giggles and fascination with everything made Julian feel more alive than ever. The world was that bit more magical through the eyes of little ones, and hearing Ariel squealing with happiness at such a simple toy was enchanting. Dorian was only a year older than River, so he had no memories of her at that young age, but he imagined that she wouldn't have looked much different to Ariel. He remembered her as a toddler, around three years old, blonde curls everywhere, full of energy and curiosity. Time would only tell just how like her mother Ariel would be, and Jules planned to stick around to see it with his own eyes. The tea they had ordered arrived on their table almost as soon as the waitress had walked away with their order, and Julian leaned back out of the way, considering Dorian's question as he stared at the two tea cups in front of them. "We had a dog when we were young," he answered, remembering Tess fondly, the little jack russell terrier had been quite the loyal companion to their mother long before Julian and River arrived on the scene. She may have even had the dog when she had given up Dorian, who knew. Jules had adored her, though, even if he had once painted her paws in primary colours and ruined her lovely white fur. "And believe it or not we had a couple of squirrels for a while. Our father was into horticulture, and one day he accidentally killed a squirrel, long story, but he found her babies and brought them home. They were fun pets." They had been fun pets for about a year before they had gotten loose and ruined their mother's work room, shredding all of her materials and creating a horrible mess. She had insisted that Henry find another home for the critters. River had sobbed. She had slept in Jules' bed that night and he'd hugged her while she cried herself to sleep. _______________________ tag: Dorian Michael Humbert notes: <3 template by izzy[googlefont="Dancing Script"]
