Spring Gala She gave the best answer she could have possibly given him by hinting that she liked to swim. He would definitely be looking for that pool. Her hand in his, he led her through the gardens, sparing only a quick glance at the announcer who requested everyone to head into the dining room like a herd of sheep. Julian wouldn't be complying just yet. There were so many people to be seated, they wouldn't be missed for at least another fifteen minutes, they could take the scenic route on their way into the house. The pool could wait until later. That worked out for the best anyway, everyone would be much more tipsy and unlikely to notice two beautiful people having some fun after dinner. He gave her a gentle tug onto a flower lined path that had statues dotted about. "Well, here we have a very important frog, clearly the king of the frogs, based on this very large rock he was given to sit on," he said in a posh voice, waving his free hand at the rather ugly frog statue. A little further down the path they passed another statue of a half naked woman carrying a basket of fruit. "And this lady was the mistress of Mr Galanis. Sybil chased her down in the middle of the night and turned her to stone." He patted the - thankfully covered up - bum of the statue. "Bad luck, love."Maybe ten minutes had passed, though it felt like one. Any time he was with Lunete time seemed to go much faster than he wanted it to. The gardens were almost empty now, and he knew they would have to go inside soon, or have someone come looking for them. He'd much rather stay right where he was, but then he didn't want to be the black sheep of the party. Usually he wouldn't care, but his brother was here tonight and he very much needed Dorian to think that he was someone who would tow the line. Julian sighed. "I suppose we should head inside," he said, wondering what kind of stuffy arrangement dinner would be. He wasn't a fussy eater, but he much preferred simple things to fancy meals with names that people struggled to pronounce. Maybe the Minister's choices would surprise him, but he sincerely hoped he wouldn't be sitting with a plate of lobster in front of him in the next ten minutes. _______________________ tag: Lunete Penelope Dearborn notes: <3 outfit: Sexy springy hottie! template by izzy [googlefont="Dancing Script"]

Discoveries Cora thought her own things might be downstream, but Jules had to admit he didn't have much faith in her sense of direction this morning. Besides that, this forest was huge, big enough for a werewolf to get lost in for an entire night without breaking free into civilisation, she could have left her things downstream of any river or trickling stream. Then again, he did think that downstream of this river was a small cave and a series of tunnels that lead into a hillside, and said cave was his first hiding place for his belongings, and more specifically his wand, which he would need if he wanted to get home any time within the next three days. It would be impossible to walk all the way back to his little flat from here, it was literally worlds away. He needed to get to backpack number one and his wand as soon as possible, and if that just so happened to be the location of Cora's clothes, then all the better because he'd have his jumper back, and he so wanted his snuggly jumper. And his blanket. He dipped his hand into his bag and pulled out a bottle of water, unscrewing the top and holding it out to Cora first. "Drink?" he asked, wondering how long she was going to be snooty with him. The girl he had been friends with back at school had been quiet and easy going, Jules had never been anything but easy and comfortable in her presence, but now she seemed to have at least ten steel walls up around her, and no intentions of even opening a window to let him peek in. He didn't really want to peek in anyway, he'd got a good enough look when he'd first found her. In fact, he wondered just how much of a look he'd gotten of her in wolf form, the memories were blurry, but the breeze that whipped through the forest carried his scent to his nose and he stank of her. Had they...? Did it really matter? Not to Julian. He just wanted to get home and have a bath, some food, painkillers, and a nap. In that order. No snooty old friends in the mix at all. He slung his backpack over his shoulder, the rough material scraping along his bare skin. He really wanted that jumper back. _______________________ tag: Cora Calliope Vance notes: <3 template by izzy [googlefont="Dancing Script"]

Dreaming of a Family Christmas How she housed that much arrogance in such a tiny body, Julian did not know, but he found himself fighting a smile at her words. He liked a good bit of fire, though she was clearly trying to portray some kind of coolness towards him. Jules didn't care, really, she wasn't anybody to him, if she wanted to be funny with him, so be it, he had been polite enough for the first ten seconds of their relationship, that would do him just fine. His thumb stroked the back of Ariel's hand lightly as she held onto his finger, probably not even aware of what she was doing. He didn't care whose digit she thought she was holding, perhaps she assumed it belonged to Dorcas, but he would enjoy the moment regardless. She looked lovely in her little dress, though he imagined River might have dressed her in a much more frilly and girly fashion, like a little doll. The dress was sweet enough, though Jules knew it wouldn't be her first outfit of the day. He just hoped Dorcas was holding her when she did her first Christmas vomit. There was more mention of this Geralina woman, Jules starting to get the impression that Dorian might fancy whoever she was, bringing her up a second time. He wondered if Dorcas knew her boyfriend was pining after her friend. That would be a nice little drama to sit in on. Maybe he'd make a move on Geralina, it would surely get up someone's nose and it didn't matter to Julian which one of this pair he annoyed with it. Unless she was a troll, of course, there'd be no flirting with that. He said nothing as he listened to the two talking, and when Ariel finally released his finger, he used it to twirl a tiny curl of her fair hair before moving away, deciding it best not to demand to hold her just yet. She seemed settled where she was, no need to risk upsetting her or anyone else until they were at least half way through their meal. Maybe throw a spanner in the works just as Dorian was chewing on a piece of meat, he could choke to death and then Jules could walk away with his niece and never see these people again. That would be a very merry Christmas indeed. For now, he took a seat on the sofa, perching on the edge, not wanting to get too comfortable or let his guard down at all. _______________________ tag: Dorian Michael Humbert , André Daniel Meadowes , Emily Jane Meadowes , Dorcas Amilie Meadowes and Geralina Amara Drake notes: <3 outfit: Simply sexy. template by izzy[googlefont="Dancing Script"]

Discoveries Someone wasn't in the mood for a catch up. What did she expect him to do, not speak to her at all? They'd been friends once upon a time, did she think it completely unnatural for curiosity to rear it's head in a situation like this?Sure, she might not have wanted to answer questions about how she ended up a werewolf, but as someone who had frolicked - for lack of a more manly word - with her all night, he thought he might be entitled to pry a little bit. Actually, he really wasn't, but he was arrogant enough to have a go. But fine, if she didn't want to make small talk, he could deal with that. "Well if you'd rather stare at my arse in silence, by all means, have at it," he called over his shoulder, thinking there was no way she wasn't having a good look back there. She could play the shy damsel all she liked, but he had a fine arse, and a fine everything else for that matter, and she'd have to be some sort of alien to resist admiring it when it was on full show and his back was turned so he wouldn't even see her doing it. Nobody was virtuous enough to resist that opportunity. He navigated the small hill in silence, weaving through the thinning trees until he came out on top of the small rise, a trickling stream just a few feet away, a fallen log beside it with a hollowed out hole. It wasn't the best place to store a bag of clothes and supplies, and out of his three hiding spots, it was his least favourite since things could feel a bit cold and possibly damp from being near water. It would do. It was the one he had woken closest to, so they would have to deal with cold clothes. "We're here," he muttered, crossing to the log and reaching inside to pull out a backpack. Crouching on the twiggy, grassy ground, he unzipped it and pulled out a pair of jeans, a loose fitting jumper, and a large woolen blanket. He tossed the jumper and blanket to Cora. "It's not much, but it'll keep you warm until you get to your own clothes," he grinned, standing and shaking out his slightly crumpled jeans, and wishing he'd packed two jumpers or at least two blankets. His torso would be warm for now, but it probably wouldn't stay that way for long. How far away had she hidden her things? _______________________ tag: Cora Calliope Vance notes: <3 template by izzy [googlefont="Dancing Script"]

Dreaming of a Family Christmas Dorian went into possibly the longest monologue Julian had heard from him so far in their short relationship. It was amusing to see him rambling away about this family he so clearly admired far too much. His amusement didn't show, but he was laughing on the inside, his face a mask of sincerity and interest as he listened to his brother go on about how the Meadoweses liked to take in strays and mongrels who had nowhere else to go. Was this friend of Dorcas' a stray, too? Or just a friend? Maybe she'd be moderately attractive and make the day go that much quicker and easier. Or maybe she'd have a stick up her arse to rival the one Dorian had, only time would tell. "Well, I suppose if she were to have a substitute family, you found her one of the best," he allowed, trying to be kind in talking about how Emily and Andre had taken to Ariel, but unable to hide the cattiness of mentioning the baby needing a substitute family. She certainly did not. She had grandparents of her own. Yes, they were dead, but they were a damn sight better than these people, and they'd have loved her infinitely more than these people ever could. The moment was interrupted before Jules could put his foot in it by the arrival of Dorcas, carrying Ariel on her hip. Julian didn't even see Dorcas, so blinded by the tiny blonde baby was he, the hot little brunette faded completely in comparison. He felt the smile return to his face, though it was only for one person. "Merry Christmas," he responded to Dorcas' words, though his eyes were on Ariel, and he crossed the room to the pair, wanting nothing more than to snatch Ariel from this strange woman and hold her close for the entire day. He didn't, that would be rude and he needed to appear marginally polite in front of these people. "Hello, sweetheart." He leaned in, placing a gentle kiss on Ariel's cheek, his eyes flicking to Dorcas' face eventually since they were so close now. "It's nice to meet you, Dorcas," he finally offered a greeting, his finger gripped in Ariel's hand as he leaned back enough to not be invading the Auror's personal space too much. She was a pretty little thing, he could see what his brother saw in her. _______________________ tag: Dorian Michael Humbert , André Daniel Meadowes , Emily Jane Meadowes , Dorcas Amilie Meadowes and Geralina Amara Drake notes: <3 outfit: Simply sexy. template by izzy[googlefont="Dancing Script"]

Spring Gala She looked lovely in a little dusky pink number, her hair up revealing her neck which was just screaming to be kissed - or bitten, but he wasn't certain if she was into that kind of thing or not and would have to tread carefully so as not to scare her off - and it took everything he had in him to not kiss her as she tilted her face up to his, admitting that she couldn't remember much of the speech at all. They were trapped there, or at least he was, in that moment, faces only inches apart, that smile of hers making him feel funny and happy. Jules leaned in a little closer, stopping just before their lips might touch. Allowing himself to enjoy the moment of teasing her, he took in her scent, flowery, a hint of rosemary, sweet to match her personality. His lips parted, eyes on her smile. "Let's go and have a look around a posh house," he said, lips breaking into a teasing smirk as he pulled away from her with no kiss and took her hand. He led her around the gardens, scooping up two glasses of champagne from a server as they passed, and waved his glass towards the house. "What'll it be? Search for secret doors in the gardens? See if there's a fancy indoor pool?" So he was a red blooded male and would not pass up the chance of seeing her in much less clothing than she currently had on. Much less. "See what's beyond the first floor of the house?" His expression was definitely naughty at that suggestion, though he didn't think she'd go for that kind of rule breaking, and he wouldn't want to get her in trouble at work by encouraging her to piss her boss off. When were they going to get the chance to go exploring around the home of the actual Minister of Magic, though? Likely never. Jules would never have the money for a home of this size. Had he never been bitten, he might have stood a chance at a great job and something a bit better than the nice home his parents had, but as it was, he'd never do much better than said parents house. He knew nothing of Lunete's wealth, but she was young, she certainly wasn't in a position to be looking at mansions for sale. Why not seize the moment and see how the rich and powerful lived? _______________________ tag: Lunete Penelope Dearborn notes: <3 outfit: Sexy springy hottie! template by izzy [googlefont="Dancing Script"]

The Gift The man and the pram followed him down the street, and Jules walked comfortably, in no rush to hurry the moment on. When he reached the turn into the apartment, he resisted the urge to glance back, and merely strolled up to the front door, a little slower this time, allowing Dorian to catch up as he pushed the door open. Would his brother think he was being polite? Holding the door open for them? Or being a complete weirdo by going into their building for no apparent reason? Probably the latter, but that was what Julian wanted, and if he could have skipped with glee down the hallway, he would have. His footsteps sounded gently through the building, and he could hear the wheels of the pram not far behind, where his beautiful little niece was sleeping like an angel in her carriage. She would be seeing a lot more of her Uncle Julian, he would make sure of it, but unfortunately for her, he would be bringing his own fun to the game. He paused at the front door to his new home, glancing over his shoulder at Dorian as the man halted before his own door, confusion on his face as he also stole a look at his brother. Hand fishing his shiny new key from his pocket, Julian stuck it in the lock and gave it a slow turn, a large grin spreading across his face as he held Dorian's gaze, stepping inside his apartment and shutting the door slowly, leaving the older man perplexed in the hallway. "Game on," he grinned, dropping his key on the living room table and shrugging his jacket off. He draped it across the back of the couch and crossed to the kitchen, pouring himself a glass of water and flopping down onto the couch with it. Well, that was a success. He had gotten some quality time with Ariel, and she had taken to him quite well for a first meeting, and his brother was stuffy, though he seemed to be taking good enough care of the baby. For now. Julian's gaze drifted around his small apartment. It wouldn't do for long with a little one living there, but he'd fit the necessities in for a while if he needed to. Failing that, he could always move into his parents house. He had inherited it and it was being rented out for the time being, but if he needed it it was his for the taking. That was food for thought. Ariel would love it there. _______________________ tag: Dorian Michael Humbert notes: *all the evil laughter* X'D <3 template by izzy[googlefont="Dancing Script"]

Spring Gala A spring gala was a fancy kind of event. Jules hadn't done fancy for a long time, not since he'd been a werewolf, at least. He had dressed up occasionally for a wedding or funeral here and there, and he had friends dotted about the country who would have parties that required one to look nice, but nothing quite of this caliber, and nothing that involved rubbing shoulders with the likes of the actual Minister of Magic. Julian wasn't impressed by power or authority figures, in fact he had always had a bit of an issue with them, and found it his duty to go against them in small ways. He was no upstart, he wouldn't land himself in Azkaban, but he certainly would not be shoving his nose up the Minister's backside to win her approval or affections tonight. He couldn't give a toss if she liked him or not, he did give a crap about her views on werewolves, though. He told himself that if he got a moment to approach her in private, he might ask her just what her stance was over his people, and how she intended to treat them during her stint in power. He knew that he was more likely to devote his entire night to the girl who he had asked to be his date for the event. Lunete was a beauty, beautiful in a way he hadn't known for quite some time. She was pure, almost innocent, if you like, with a genuine way about her that made her completely enchanting. She wasn't like the women he screwed and never laid eyes on again, she wasn't even like the ones that came back for seconds and thirds. She deserved better treatment than that, and he hoped by courting her properly, taking her on dates, showing her a fun time, that she would be as enchanted by him as he was by her. Their first date had been a success, even though he'd made an idiot of himself by attempting to fly with her. She'd enjoyed their time together, and he'd even managed to kiss her without getting a slap in the face. It was going well, and tonight was just another step in the right direction. It was also a step in the direction of getting under his brother's skin by flaunting his student under his nose. Dorian was so far oblivious that Jules was dating one of his trainee Aurors, and it would delight Jules to no end to see the look on his face when he spotted the two together at the gala. Tonight would be full of perks, it seemed. His suit fitted like a glove, and he had on sunglasses to try and disguise the shadows under his eyes from the full moon only two nights ago. He was tired, but he'd get through the night, and as soon as the sun set he could remove the glasses so he didn't look like a complete egotistical prat wearing them in the dark. He had picked Lunete up and they had apparated to the Minister's home together. She looked incredible, and it had taken all of his willpower to not stare at her through the entirety of the Minister's speech. He'd only stared at her for most of it. "Did you listen to any of that?" he asked her, leaning his head down so that his lips were nearer her ear, words for her only. "Because I don't remember a word of it. I'm far too distracted." His smile might have been a tiny bit naughty as he stood there in the beautiful gardens of the grand home with the most beautiful girl in the building by his side. He was certainly luckier than his brother, who he had spotted with that tiny little Dorcas whore on his arm. They had to be the most mismatched couple here, unlike Jules and Lunete, who complimented each other perfectly. Then again, Julian would compliment anyone perfectly, he was devilishly handsome and everybody knew it. _______________________ tag: Lunete Penelope Dearborn notes: He's so modest. Discoveries This was silly. He could understand modesty, and all of that not wanting people to see you naked because it was embarrassing thing, but honestly, she was a beautiful woman with a beautiful body, she really didn't have anything to be bashful about. Julian had been ashamed the first time or two he had turned and woken up naked with strangers, but he had quickly learned that the others in the pack that had taken him in didn't care about such things. They didn't look at him as though he was a piece of meat, nor did they look at him with smiles of amusement. It was just normal for them, and they got on with it as easily as they would brush their teeth in the mornings. What had started off as an exciting aspect of his changes - walking naked through the wilderness with a bunch of other people - had become something he was probably over confident about after so many years. His body was lithe, toned, built in the image of perfection as far as he was concerned, and he was happy to show it off. "As you wish," he said, stifling a laugh and turning his back to Cora, leading the way through the forest towards the small hill he had been originally heading for. He could hear her carefully trailing behind him, and he tried to keep the distance between them short so that he could talk to her as they walked. "Cora Vance. Naked in the woods. How wonderfully strange the world is," he said, tilting his head ever so slightly so that his words could carry over his shoulder. "How long ago were you cursed?" he asked, not knowing any other way to speak of the affliction both he and Cora suffered from. It was a curse, it would never be anything other than a curse, and a cruel one at that. Though he had embraced it for many years and even delved into the world of lycanthropy to the point of joining a pack and leaving his family behind so that he could better control what had happened to him and learn to live with it, it was still a terror for him and every other werewolf in the world. You could accept and embrace it as much as you wanted, but it would always be a plague on your mind and body. Knowing thy enemy was a much harder task when your enemy was yourself once a month. Jules was committed, though, at least he had been up until his recent upheaval. He wondered how long Cora had been battling her way through her existence and how she was handling it. _______________________ tag: Cora Calliope Vance notes: <3 template by izzy [googlefont="Dancing Script"]

Dreaming of a Family Christmas Andre seemed like a cheerful enough chap that a compliment or two, or showing some interest in the things he enjoyed would be enough to win him over. He could always be deeper than that and a very good actor, but Jules hoped it would be a simple task to get the man to see him in a good light. It shouldn't be that difficult a task. Julian wasn't a bad person. Sure, he'd killed people in wolf form, and he'd even bitten people on purpose to turn them into the monsters they so loathed, but it was only ever done as a form of punishment to those that hated his kind and wished to harm them. He didn't see dishing out that kind of justice as something that made him a bad person, he was protecting his family, his pack. It was entirely justified, and the fact that it gave him a deep sense of satisfaction was neither here nor there. he was a good person. He had been raised by lovely people, in a healthy home, and a cheeky personality wouldn't change who he was at his core. It was silly that since he'd become a werewolf he had gotten such a complex that people saw him as the bad guy. It was far from the truth, but his temper often solidified people's judgments, which was unfair and something he had grown accustomed to over the years. These people, this family, they didn't have to see him in that light. Only Dorian knew he was a werewolf as far as Julian knew, possibly Dorcas, but the parents surely didn't have a clue and he would have a clear slate with them. Andre excused himself and left Jules alone with his brother once more, a strange kind of tension and discomfort settling over the room. It was awkward, and Jules didn't enjoy awkward in any way. He was confident, cocky, even, and he prided himself on being able to cope in any situation. If he could go through the torture of becoming a wolf every month, he could get through a bit of uncomfortable silence and find a way to turn it around. He didn't sit down, and remained standing in the middle of the room, which likely didn't help to ease the awkward atmosphere, but he wasn't comfortable enough to sit down and drop his guard just yet. Dorian attempted small talk, and Jules, pleased at his attempt, decided to throw him a bone and join in, rather than giving a half-hearted "hmm" or something equally unhelpful and rude. "I look forward to it," he replied with a warm smile. "Are we the only guests today or are there more people coming?" he asked, wondering if Dorian would be privy to such information. Just having to spend a bit of time with Dorcas and her parents was enough for him, but if there were more people coming he'd like to be able to mentally prepare for a few more strangers and how he might handle them. _______________________ tag: Dorian Michael Humbert , André Daniel Meadowes , Emily Jane Meadowes , Dorcas Amilie Meadowes and Geralina Amara Drake notes: Outfit. <3 template by izzy[googlefont="Dancing Script"]

Finding You A chaser but not a captain was good enough. You didn't have to be the boss to be good at something, though Julian did always like to be the best. He certainly wouldn't be the best on this flying date, but he was surprisingly alright with it, and actually looking forward to getting to see more of this beautiful brunette across from him. He would have liked to see more of her in a different sense, too, but that would have to wait until she was comfortable, he was no creep. Just because he'd had one night stands and random hook ups with people he'd only just met, didn't mean everyone was into that kind of thing, and he would respect her enough to move at her pace. If they even got past a first date, of course. He was slightly jumping the gun in his head, but he was also confident in his abilities when it came to winning women over. If she proved a challenge, he'd try even harder, but Lunete seemed like someone who was more than happy to be led. "Well then, I will be sure to free up my weekends," he smiled, drinking down the last of his coffee and setting his cup gently down on the table. He needed to get home but parting with Lunete was proving a pretty difficult task for him. He could sit and stare at her smile all day, even more content to know that he was the reason for it. Ego boosts and pretty women were definitely a few of his weaknesses, and here he was fighting both. He had been staring at her while trying to talk himself into getting up, but Jules eventually turned his eyes downward, forcing himself to look at his hands rather than her dazzling eyes. "Owl me. Julian Blackthorne," he told her, pushing his chair back and standing slowly. "I'll be available whenever you want me." He reached down for her hand and scooped her fingers up with his, his own warm from the cup he had been holding on to, and bent to kiss her hand, eyes meeting hers. "I look forward to falling off a broom in front of you," he grinned, letting her go and heading for the exit, turning as soon as he was outside and apparating home, the churning sensation in his stomach not from the apparition this time. _______________________ tag: Lunete Penelope Dearborn notes: <3 template by izzy[googlefont="Dancing Script"]

The Gift Of course Dorian would need to check with whomever he was going to dump Ariel on to see if they were free, you couldn't just throw a baby at a person without warning. He seemed confident that he'd have an answer by tonight, so ditching Ariel with any old babysitter was probably normal practice for him, and it made Julian seethe at the thought of this beautiful little baby being passed from pillar to post, not knowing whether she was coming or going. He'd have said so, too, only he needed to fool this idiot into trusting him. Jules was half wondering if it was worth it. If he might not be better off just waging a full on war against Humbert for custody of their niece. He'd get to say all of the angry things he was thinking, that would be satisfying enough, but then he knew when she was older that Ariel would be told tales of her horrible Uncle Julian coming in and shaking up her world. He would be painted as the bad guy for it, and Merlin only knew how she would react to that. No, he needed to play along. He could air his real views in time, when he would be less likely to be lynched for it. "That's fine," he agreed, blue eyes watching Dorian as he packed away Ariel's things and reclined her pram so she could sleep comfortably in it. Jules wanted to stand up and apparate to the other end of the earth with Ariel, rather than part with her now that he'd made his first connection. It killed him, absolutely killed him to instead rise and press her to his shoulder, his hand cradling the back of her heavy head as it rested there, her button nose gently kissing his cheek. Breathing her in for the moment, he didn't hand her back to Dorian, but laid her down in her pram himself, fixing her head comfortably so her neck wasn't bent awkwardly, smoothing her dress down so there were no uncomfortable lumps for her to lay on, and planting one last kiss on her forehead before straightening up and allowing Dorian to strap her in safely. "I'll see you tomorrow then, brother," he said, reaching for his untouched cup of tea and downing the lukewarm beverage in just a few large gulps. "It was nice to finally meet you." His gaze lingered on Dorian's face, so much like their mother, but he eventually tore himself away, his usually cocky gait carrying him to the door of the cafe and out into the chilly air. He walked slowly, giving Dorian a chance to strap Ariel in to her pram and get her outside. There would only be a short distance between them, not enough for conversation, but enough for Dorian to be fully aware that Jules was walking ahead the entire journey home. Humbert had no idea where Jules had set up home now that he was making a go of a normal life, and him finding out his new brother had moved in down the hall was just going to be one hell of a thrill. Julian would hate to miss out on the moment and have it be discovered some other way. He would be the one to reveal it, and he would be the one to enjoy the look on Humberts face. His steps were purposeful, sensitive ears picking up on the sound of the pram wheels not too far behind him. Julian didn't turn to look at his new family as he walked the same path they had taken to get to the cafe, as he headed right for the apartment building that Humbert resided in, a spring in his step and a smile on his face that Dorian could not yet see. He would have cackled with glee if nobody was around to hear him. _______________________ tag: Dorian Michael Humbert notes: <3 template by izzy[googlefont="Dancing Script"]

The Gift And a mother. More than anything, a mother. Julian said nothing in response to the man's words, only stared down at the innocent bundle who was now fast asleep in his arms. He set the empty bottle on the table and traced a finger across Ariel's cheek, chubby like her mother's had been as a child. Everything about her screamed River, and it hurt. She deserved to have her mother in her life, she deserved the kind of hugs only River could give her, the kind of laughter that only a mother and daughter could share, the kind of impossible love that only River could ever feel for her. It was painful, how unfair it all was, and as much as it hurt Julian to think about it all, it would hurt Ariel even more when she was old enough to think the same thoughts and realise what she would never have. He wanted to hold her forever and make it all go away, make everything okay, but he couldn't. Nobody could save this sweet little one from the sorrow that was coming for her. But he could certainly hold her hand through it all, and if Dorian had to be holding the other one, then so be it, but by the Gods Jules would be there and no one would stop him. "Yes, well there's a lot to be said," he agreed, reluctant to go along with it but unable to find a reason not to have that talk with Dorian. It wasn't something for Ariel to be around for, it would be a room full of hard sentences and probably a good bit of anger and frustration on Julian's part. He had no idea how Dorian felt about what had happened to his new sister, but it was time to find out. Time to get everything out in the open, all cards on the table - except for the one where Jules planned to try and take custody of Ariel - and figure out what to do about it all. Hell, it could even lead to Dorian admitting that he didn't want to be Ariel's guardian. There was always the possibility that the man was doing it because he felt like he had no choice, and having Jules come into the picture might be a relief for him. That would be just perfect, but he wouldn't be getting his hopes up. Jules nodded his head. "I'm free tomorrow," he confirmed, glad to hear that Dorian was intending to be completely open and honest with him. At least one of them would be. "Give me a time and place and I'll be there." He continued to watch Ariel sleep, knowing he would have to hand her back to Dorian in a minute so that she could sleep comfortably in her pram, though his arms seemed the perfect fit for her. _______________________ tag: Dorian Michael Humbert notes: <3 template by izzy[googlefont="Dancing Script"]

Finding You Pursing his lips, Jules fought a laugh, though it crept out anyway and it was his turn to be awkward. Flying wasn't something he was good at. He wasn't bad at it, he was just... nothing about it. He had taken it during his first year at Hogwarts, but that had been over a decade ago, and he had to admit if he tried it these days he would be practically learning from scratch. "I haven't flown since Flying lessons at school," he admitted, a hint of embarrassment in his cheeks, though he would recover from it quickly enough. Julian didn't like having weaknesses, things that he wasn't good at, but such things existed, and he found himself liking Lunete enough to want to be real with her. At least over little things like what he could or couldn't do. There was no chance of him ever telling her or any other girl he dated that he was a werewolf, since he considered it to be a deal breaker. He had had enough heartbreak in his life recently, it was time to be more guarded than ever when it came to his secrets. Nobody would be allowed to turn against him if he had a say in it. "I bet you were Quidditch Captain, weren't you," he grinned, enjoying the image he had in his head of her riding a broom, the wind in her hair, determination in those beautiful eyes. It suited her quite nicely. Jules would quite enjoy having the opportunity to see that, though he got the feeling it would come with a price. The price of himself looking foolish and incompetent. He regarded her for a long moment as he considered whether she was worth it or not. His life was so full of new things, new home, new job, new family. That all seemed to be going fine for him so far, maybe it was a sign, maybe this stage of his life was about learning to embrace new things and to see change as a positive rather than something that brought pain. "I'd be happy to give it another try," he told her quietly, deciding that he had more to gain from pursuing Lunete, and he shouldn't stop himself from having potentially wonderful things in his world any more. She would never know he was a werewolf, so she would never fear and loathe him for that, and he might just have fun along the way. _______________________ tag: Lunete Penelope Dearborn notes: <3 template by izzy[googlefont="Dancing Script"]

Discoveries Her reaction was a predictable one, but amusing nonetheless, and Jules smiled as he watched her try to cover her modesty. She'd have a hard time doing that for longer than a minute or two, especially if she planned on carrying on walking through the forest to find her clothes, or a way home, or whatever it was she had been looking for. Her head turned a little, enough to allow her to glance over her shoulder at him, and Julian's smile dropped. Cora Vance. She had been a good friend to him during their school years, though he hadn't heard from her in a long time. How had she ended up cursed like this? She had been such a lovely girl, quiet, gentle, unassuming. She wasn't someone he would have ever thought would end up tangled in the world of werewolves, yet here she was, naked as the day she was born after spending the night rolling through the underbrush with him. What an unexpected turn of events. Julian was not sorry for staring at her behind, even if she had been an old friend and someone he had never had any romantic interest in. Admiring a perfect view wasn't something to ever regret. Chuckling at her request for him to look anywhere else while she was naked, Jules held his arms out to indicate the endless trees around them. There really wasn't anywhere else to look. "I've seen it all before, love," he laughed, making no move to hide his own nakedness from her. He turned his face away, staring instead at the trunk of a nearby tree as a show of good will towards her. He knew she'd be looking from the corner of her eye. Whether she checked him out or not, he couldn't be sure, but he couldn't wipe the smirk from his face. "Cora." Her name was soft on his lips as he tried to offer her some comfort. "I've got some clothes and blankets hidden just over that hill," he told her, nodding to the small grassy rise that would lead them to the hollowed out tree where one of his bags was stashed. "There's enough for two. I promise not to look anywhere but your face..." He did not know if she was the same gentle soul she used to be, the curse tended to change people, to give them more fire than they were sometimes capable of handling, but he hoped she would be open to letting him help her out. He didn't like to think of himself having to walk away from an old friend and leave her in the lurch because of her own refusal of help. _______________________ tag: Cora Calliope Vance notes: <3 template by izzy [googlefont="Dancing Script"]
