 Stand up for something even if you're standing alone
“Werewolf rights are human rights! Werewolf rights are human rights!” The chanting might have been more compelling if their numbers were greater, but they were making a disturbance and that was definitely a step in the right direction. Darcy stood underneath a banner held by two other witches that read ‘WWWAR is coming!’ the lettering then flashed and the banner now said ‘Witches, Wizards, and Werewolves Against the Registration’. The protest group had been there for two days now, fighting for politicians to take notice of their cause. The werewolf registration was completely unjust, stigmatizing people who, in most cases, were complete innocents to their illness. Forcing victims of lycanthropy to check in with the government every month was not only a violation of their wizarding rights, but also impeded their ability to go about their lives as normally as possible. Imagine, you finally find a job that that would overlook the stereotypes of your disease only to have to take time off work every month to go into London and sit in a busy Ministry building, missing paid work and putting a strain on your reputation as a hard-working employee. And that was only for the lucky ones. Most werewolves couldn’t get a steady job to begin with, ending up turning to illegal means of profit. Forced criminality! It was inhumane and WWWAR was going to make sure their few but mighty voices were heard.
Darcy had a clipboard in her hands as she chanted along with her fellow WWWAR advocates, her free hand thrust into the air as a group of finely dress business wizards walked passed. “End the registration! Sign our petition for werewolf rights!” The men hurried passed them, waving Darcy off but she was not deterred. “Please, sir, sign our petition. The werewolf registration is harmful to innocent werewolves just trying to-” She was shut down as the man ignored her and walked faster, leaving her alone. “You’re blessed with anonymity!” she shouted at the man’s back. “Lycans deserve the same, you wanker!” She was getting heated now. There were only six names on her petition board, one of which was her own in the hopes of getting the ball rolling. A cute brunette in a blue top caught Darcy’s eye as she walked swiftly by, avoiding eye contact. “Miss, people with lycanthropy are being unfairly targeted by this administration’s racist policies. Sign our petition to end the registration?” Darcy trotted after the woman, extending her clipboard and quill toward the witch as she walked by.

PERSONALITY Boggart: Faced with a boggart, it would become her childhood best friend screaming at her that she was a freak
Mirror of Erised: Darcy would see herself cheering in a crowd of people as the Minister announced the end of the werewolf registry and peace with the giants
Patronus: Darcy cannot produce a patronus but if she could it would be a fox, conjured by the many memories of her mum making apple fritters every year as a birthday treat
Darcy is a kind woman, typically more outspoken around her friends and family than she is when around strangers, unless she’s organizing a march or protest. She is always available for advice, though it often comes with a warning that she might very well have no idea what she’s talking about. If it’s a shoulder to cry on that’s in need, Darcy can be that too. She’s very caring and goes out of her way to support her family and her friends.
She is what her mother lovingly calls “chaotically organized”. Darcy knows exactly where everything is, despite her place being a mess, and she always has a point even if it takes her a while to get there. Working in her family’s bookshop every summer, just as her mum had done while she was a teen, Darcy found a love of books and learning in general. If she’s not painting a protest sign or helping a friend, you can almost certainly find Darcy waist deep in books.

Celeste Winchell worked at her family’s bookshop in Godric’s Hollow every summer, which was where Jack Davies fell in love with her. The Davies and the Winchells had lived in Godric’s Hollow together for many years, though they were separated by vastly different communities. Every summer when Jack returned home from “boarding school” he would find Celeste a little older and a little lovelier. They began dating the summer after he graduated Hogwarts, two years later they were married, and not long after that they became parents. Celeste was completely shocked when Jack told her his family’s secret the night he proposed, but he wanted to make sure that she knew what she was getting into before they were married.
Just before Christmas 1959, the Davies were blessed with their second child, a daughter they named Darcy. Darcy was a free spirited child from the very start, always running off into the forests that surrounded their home and often bringing back animals she had found and claiming them to be the family’s newest pet. Darcy made friends easily as a child but her parents were honest with her and her brother David from the very beginning, they could never tell their muggle friends about their family’s magic. Darcy tried hard to follow the family’s only real rule but when she was 9 Darcy shared their secret with her muggle best friend who promptly began screaming and calling Darcy horrible names. A ministry worker had to obliviate Darcy’s friend and her family, and Darcy got a stern lecture from a Ministry witch that made her cry.
When the time came, Darcy followed her older brother to Hogwarts where she was sorted into Ravenclaw House and met the witch who would swiftly become Darcy’s best friend, Sera. Darcy loved learning and was excited to finally be able to attend all of the classes her brother had been moaning about for years. In her third year when she was able to chose elective courses, Darcy struggled to narrow down her options. She wanted to take them all. In her fifth year, Darcy came out to her friends and family, and had her first relationship with a witch from Slytherin who was in the same year as Darcy. It only lasted a handful of months and ended when her girlfriend’s friends made fun of them because Darcy’s mum was a muggle. It was the second big relationship in Darcy’s life that had ended because her family was different and she didn’t like it at all.
As Darcy grew older, she became more involved with social activism. She joined a protest the summer before her last year at Hogwarts to abolish the werewolf registry, calling it inhumane. After graduation she was arrested for inciting a riot when a group she was part of protested Gringott’s for their captive and unethical treatment of dragons. And now, as a war rages between the magical and muggle community, Darcy has joined a group aimed to stopping the assault on muggles and muggleborns.
