Was this the right call to be making? Sera tried to look at it from his point of view, if someone was out there carrying her baby and she didn't know, she'd want to know, but guys were different, she couldn't get in the mind set of a guy, they were all so different and weird, like Kit and Ollie, Kit had been so pissed when she'd told him she was pregnant, but Ollie, despite his obvious shock at first, was completely supportive, and a little awkward. "Eh-heh." She laughed a little awkwardly at his joke. The only person he need worry about was Kit, probably, although Sera had no idea what her brother would do if he met the man semi-responsible for her current condition. "I'll be with you in a bit." Sera turned about, absolutely mortified at how this evening was going. She made her way past the new girl who was being trained by one of the older bar staff and headed to the staff room in silence, head down while she tried to figure out what she was going to say, or maybe she could just bolt now?

So Flynn was possibly meeting someone. Okay, she could talk to him and, hopefully, he'd have a friend to comfort him after some pretty world shattering news, although he didn't seem too expectant on his friend turning up, so maybe she'd just end up imploding his world and then he'd have no one to fall back on. What in the hell was she supposed to do? "Well get off in a minute, mind if I join you for a bit?" Perhaps that was a bit too forward, or maybe it wasn't, maybe it wasn't forward enough and she should have just blurted out 'Dude, it's your baby.'

A journalist? Was that what he did? Sera knew nothing about this guy but she knew she had to tell him that she was expecting his child, she'd want to know if the roles were reversed, not that they could be, but still. "Thanks." She said, taking the coin from his hand and headlining to the till. The till chimed when she opened it and she sorted out the change, putting it in little piles next to the till, a whole galleon for a cheap drink? That was pretty generous, she supposed, so she kind of liked that. Sera looked back to Flynn. He wasn't as hot as she remembered him being but he was certainly attractive. It was weird looking at him and thinking that her baby might have his eyes or his nose. "Are you meeting someone or just popped in on the way home?" She tried to keep her voice light but she couldn't help but feel as though she was interrogating him, but all she wanted to do was figure out if maybe they could have chat now, or arrange another time to maybe catch up, although if she didn't do it now, there was a good chance she'd chicken out, or he might not show.

Flynn's concern was almost touching and Sera almost felt as though she needed to sit down. Her heart was pounding and she wanted to talk to someone about this but who? She couldn't talk to Flynn because he was the one she needed to talk to someone about. She didn't want to talk to her boss or her shift manager, even though she was sure they'd have some advice and would be impossibly understanding, but what was she going to do? "Nah, I'll be fine, just a little pregnancy brain-fog." She faked a little chuckle, "That's a sickle and eight knuts." She said, smiling awkwardly, really hoping not to have to answer the question of how far along she was.

Oh boy did she remember him, "Uh-huh." She nodded her head, forcing a smile to try and appear friendly, although honestly it helped the nausea she was starting to feel. She'd never had a one night stand before him, she'd not had a one night stand since. She's had one partner in her life and now she was pregnant with a stranger's baby. She knew nothing about this guy, all she knew was he was. good snogger and that he liked a beer, but it didn't matter, because here was was with his baby growing inside of her and she was way too chicken to even say anything to him. When the beer was complete she placed it on the bar in front of him, "That's, uh-," Her mind froze as she tried to recall just how much a single beer was, why was this so difficult?!

Oh shit. He remembered her. Sera forced a bit of a laugh and ran her hand over her belly without even realising it, "Oh, I don't think so." Well shit. That was just out there then. Maybe he wouldn't put two and two together, but then again he didn't exactly seem like the dumb sort, thank Merlin? Maybe he'd just think that because of her condition that she wouldn't be up for something. Yeah, that would totally be the most logical step to take ... "I'll get you that beer." She said, internally cringing and turning around to grab a fresh glass before she started pouring a pint, not daring to look in his direction.

Sera could see him clear as day. Flynn was sat at the bar, waiting for a drink. Sera's thoughts raced through her mind. Did she find someone else to cover for her? Did she serve him herself? Did she mention the huge bump growing every single day on the front of her body? What was she to do? Without thinking Sera's feet took her to Flynn, a work smile on her face of sheer politeness, "What can I get you?" Thank Merlin that Kit wasn't here because her heart was racing a mile a minute right now and he would have known just exactly why, he was always far too intuitive. All she was going to do was just act as though she didn't recognise him, and maybe she could get hold of Romy or Darcy or Echo and see if any of them had any suggestions on what to do right now.

Ten more minutes and Sera was due to clock off. She’d seen Abi arrive about five minutes earlier so she knew her replacement was already in meaning there was no wondering if she’d have to stay back for a bit or not, something Sera had been doing a lot of lately. It wasn’t that Sera didn’t like her job, in fact she was one of the few that loved serving drinks at the Ambrosia and found enjoyment in the work, but she also needed to rest a lot. Today she was officially in her third trimester. She was 27 weeks pregnant and her baby was doing well. Amazingly, in fact. Sera knew already that her child was absolutely full of beans, active a lot and kicking away what felt like all day and night. She was carrying a little quarter-vampire and found herself often wondering what advice her mum might give her. These sorts of pregnancies weren’t exactly a frequent occurrence so a little support from someone that had sort of gone through something similar would have really helped, but Sera had to make do. Her dad was really great, she’d curl up with him before the dawn, sometimes, and ask questions, of which she had a lot.
“You look like you could use a drink. I'll fix you up a little something.” Sera said, her warm, infectious smile spreading to the stranger at her bar. He was smiling now but Sera could feel that he was hurting and she wanted to make him something that would help pick his spirits up, so she got to work creating a special cocktail purely for the guy in front of her. When she was done she set the drink down in front of him and he just looked at her, “Trust me,” She said, “You’re gonna love it.” He timidly took a mouthful of the brown and orange concoction that was in a tall glass. Sera could see his aura change almost at once and she smiled, glad to have helped another customer as he placed his coin on the bar and made his way over to a table. Sera scooped up the coins and headed over to the till, the coins ringing as they bumped and fell onto what was already in the till. Sera closed it up and looked down the bar for her next customer.

"All right, all right," Sera said, giving her brother's a gentle nudge, hoping they'd let her go and they could break this somewhat awkward group hug, "I need to get back home." She said, figuring they didn't need to know about the due date or any other kind of information right now. This was enough for one day, if they had more questions then she was okay to answer them as best as she could, but she didn't expect Kit to want to know anything, she just expected him to spiral after she was gone and well out of earshot, and she expected Ollie to start looking for places to buy himself a 'Favourite Uncle' tee shirt, although not until after he used humour to deal with situation and Kit's freak out.

Sera was pretty good at keeping secrets. There was the one time that Romy got diarrhoea and pooped all over a clothes shop that she hadn't been able to resist telling Darcy and Echo about, and there was the time at school when she found out that Blake Delamoore had a crush on Echo that she just had to tell the girs about, but beyond little things like that, Sera was a vault ... unless it came to her own secrets and her family. She had a soft spot for her dad and her siblings, plus Darcy and Echo, of course. She had to tell them everything that was going on in her life, but this? Sera had no idea how she was going to handle talking about the father of her child. "He's just a guy I met at a club on New Years Eve." She said with a shrug, her voice a little muffled against Kit's chest, although she was certain Kit was going to hate that she'd had a one night stand. She recalled his name was ... was ... she was drawing a blank. It would come to her later, but right now, under the suspenseful eyes of her brothers, she couldn't think of the guy's name. She remembered he was hot, the kind of guy you wouldn't mind making a baby with, ironically, but his name was evading her, unlike his steel blue eyes which she could practically see right now. Well anyway, if she couldn't remember his name then she could always ask Romy, or Darcy, or Echo. They all had the details and she was certain they wouldn't forget.

Ollie seemed to think that it was probably better to stay at home, and Sera supposed it would be good to have her dad on hand during the night when she could try and get some sleep, and she supposed Ollie was probably responsible enough with a baby, right? But Kit? Sera looked to her big brother, expecting him to say something terribly disappointing, but she was surpised, he was actually kind of supportive, although it seemed he was taking the news kind of hard. “Thanks, Kit” She said timidly, tears beginning to form in her eyes, something she had NOT expected at all. She didn’t like having to rely on so many people, but this was family, family stuck by you no matter what and even Kit knew that.

Ollie was the best hugger. He always had been. It was strange but Sera always thought like it was hugging dad. He had this protective aura and a warm embrace, just like dad. Kit was a freaking robot. Sera felt as though she could count on one hand the amount of hugs she'd received from him in recent years. As a kid he'd been more open for hugs but these days he always felt so distant. Sera didn't really like that she and Kit had drifted so far apart, and continued to do so, but it wasn't something she was going to be able to fix now, and honestly, she wasn't sure if she'd ever be able to fix them now with news that she was pregnant. "I don't know," Sera said, taking a deep breath and letting go of Ollie, but resting her head against the side of his arm, "I've been thinking I should probably look at getting a place of my own." She re-thought that decision once again, "Maybe." Because maybe it would be better to stay home with her dad? Who did that? Who lived at home with the dad and sister while having a baby? What in the hell was she supposed to do?

Modern ... cool ... she could cope with those terms. "Yeah." Yeah, that was fine. Kit questioning them and shoving food into his mouth wasn't so fine but it was an angle she'd never really thought of. She still couldn't really think about it, her mind was more focused on the fact that she was going to have a screaming, needy baby in about eight months time and she had no idea how to hold a baby, let alone look after one. There was something about the head, you had to hold it? Maybe. She had no idea, but she felt confident that she'd learn. Eight months was plenty of time to learn how to be a parent to a newborn. She'd be fine, "Thanks, Ollie." She smiled, her whole body relaxing a little as she walked over to him, reached out her arms and gave him a hug. Kit could get stuffed unless he was able to come up with something supportive to say, but Sera wasn't going to hold her breath.

"Do we say congratulations" Well it would have been nice, but it wasn't expected. Not under these circumstances. Sera wasn't even sure how she'd take a 'congratulations' right now, it didn't feel like a congratulations moment but then perhaps that was because of all the anxiety she was experiencing just from having to talk to her family about it. "Maybe?" She shrugged, not sure of what the appropriate reaction was. A hug, maybe? A hug would be nice. "Yeah. I spoke to dad last night." She was practically reliving it now, telling him had been hard but she'd already told Romily and she stood outside the living room while Sera spoke to her dad, a silent, invisible source of strength which turned out to be quite a positive conversation. Perhaps she should have told Kit and Ollie when she'd told her dad. Sera took a deep breath, hoping Kit's mind wasn't about to snap. He looked as though his eye might start twitching at any moment.

Oh Merlin. Kit was asking about the father. Ollie was only just coming to terms with the fact that this wasn't some kind of joke and Kit was already asking who'd she been sleeping with. "Does it really matter?" He wasn't going to like that, Sera knew he wasn't going to like it the second she said something, "He's not in the picture. It's fine. Honestly. I can handle this." It wasn't a lie, she was sure she could handle a baby with a little help from her dad. He was going to be an amazing grandfather, she just knew it, but it was still too early to talk about all that, and she hoped that Kit wouldn't press any farther on who the father was, because while Sera had a first name, that was about all she had, that and the memory of a brilliant night. Maybe she should tell Kit that and just let him have a heart attack?
