Connection to the Dark Lord: Was a star student of Igor Karkaroff, who taught Jonathan many advanced Dark Arts curses and spells. During his last year at Durmstrang, Jonathan was summoned by Igor who told him all about the movement that the Dark Lord was starting and that Jonathan's time to shine would soon come to be and everything that Igor and the other professors and Durmstrang would have to be demonstrated and shown to the Dark Lord so everyone knew he meant business. Jonathan took this to heart and head and after his first day at his parent's house, he tortured his parent's and on the sixth day of torture, he finally got bored and murdered them

Why join the Dark Lord? Jonathan wants to become a Death Eater because he was shown from an early age that hatred and evil are the ways to live. During his childhood years, when he wasn't being tortured, he was always being told that no wizarding people are the issue with the word and should be eradicated at all forms and chances. With a strong dislike for muggle born wizards and witches, his father taught him that unless they are from a wizarding family, they should not be trusted and killed. From being tortured, by both parents, to later killing both of them and many poisons at the school, Jonathan had fun doing what many other witches and wizards would not do or would not think about doing. Not only was it fun for him to do this work, it got the attention of many other who practice the dark arts. With the right guidance and teachings, there is nothing that this dark wizard will not be able to complete all in the name of his leader. Respect with Jonathan is given and then earned, he automatically respects anyone who practices the dark arts, mainly because he knows the toll that such magic takes on the body and mind. It just takes a stronger body, mind, and wizard to continue to do such things.
