The laws of nature are unbreakable No matter how ancient or powerful the person, those who try will face, the fury of Mother nature herself TAG: @open WORDS: 430. NOTES: Outfit It was an early bright morning as the sun had just started to rise above as Aura walked down the street of Mystic Alley heading to her shop that was on a corner, with a greenhouse attached to it. A large sign in enchanted vanishing letters showed off the name “Regnum Magicis Plantis” along with various deals and offers going on like “Buy 2 plants, get one free”. She smiled at the sign and the front of the shop, that was decorated with decorative plants and flowers, and quickly unlocked the door with her keys. Pulling a cord by the door and windows, the curtains quickly moved back letting in the early morning sunlight. She looked around the nicely decorated shop, it was not an overly girly shop like some would think a Herbology shop could be. It was modestly decorated with statues, and plants, and art from all over the word, from Greece. The walls of the shop had several bookcases, and display cases holding different Herbology kits that Aura put together along with dozens of books on every kind of magical herb, fungi, or plant including several on healing magic.
Walking towards the back of the shop she opened a door that leads into the Greenhouse which was also open to customers. The greenhouse itself had been enchanted to be a lot bigger than it looked on the outside. It was filled with rows of tables filled with different plants from all over the world all of them labeled on brightly colored readable signs with little cards detailing everything to know about the plant, from how to grow it, plant it, potions it can be used in and any special unique info of the plant including warnings if it was such extremely poisonous to humans. A section of the greenhouse housed an enclosed space that was under lock and key only allowed Aura and other staff, that housed the more dangerous plants. Grabbing a plant of bright red and yellow flower that looked like a rose she brought it out into the shop behind the counter and slowly started to pick the petals off the plant and crushing them in a small bowl, which slowly started to turn into a shiny red kind of liquid paste.
The bell of her shop dinged as the door opened, meaning someone had entered the shop. While still crushing the petals she responded with her normal down to earth cheerful greeting ”Good morning, welcome to Regnum Magicis Plantis, how are you today?” while still crushing the petals of the flower into a paste.

| | It wasn't necessarily true that things had gotten more difficult since graduating, but they were certainly more complicated, or at least there were more layers to every step Remus had to take in order to accomplish... well, anything, really. Remus never complained, though, just quietly working through whatever task was at hand. He could be counted on to be the quiet workhorse in a situation. Something needed to get done, Remus could be counted on to do it. Even in his private life, which lead him in the direction he was currently headed. Before graduation, Madam Pomphrey taught him the extreme care of creating his own Wolfsbane potion. It may have made sense to bring Professor Sprout or Slughorn into the mix, but the less people who had to know about his condition, the better. It was not an easy potion to make, and even walking into an Herbology Shoppe and asking for Aconite was suspicious. The plant was incredibly toxic and once used to kill wolves, which made using it in Wolfsbane all the more dangerous, since the potion was meant to help the symptoms of lycanthropy. Still, he'd found Regnum Magicis Plantis, and the shopkeeper was kind enough not to ask questions when he came in periodically to ask for the plant, until one day, she'd stopped him in his tracks and asked if he wanted to buy the Wolfsbane potion instead. It always gave Remus a slight heart attack when someone figured it out, mostly because not many had. Besides, he still didn't know if she knew it was him or if he was buying it for someone else, so he could at least pretend that their was still an air of secrecy around it. The pretending helped his anxiety, anyway. Regnum Magicis Plantis was exactly where he was headed that morning, rather enjoying the sun on his skin. It had been such a cold, grey winter that he could have stayed outside and soaked up the sun all day, even if there was still a chill in the air. The bell chimed above him as he pushed the door open, a cheerful little noise that actually did a lot to lift his spirits. Maybe combined with the sunshine, too, but he had a feeling it was going to be a good day. " 'Ello, Aura," he greeted the shopkeeper by her first name, even if that was a fairly recently development. She saw him often enough that he may as well have been classified as a regular. He supposed it was better than being a regular at a pub or something less healthy, but sometimes, it still took Remus a minute not to call her by something more formal. The laws of nature are unbreakable No matter how ancient or powerful the person TAG: @junebug . WORDS: 479. NOTES: It's fine! Just that she didn't open the store offically until Feb 28th. She would have been kind enough to sell wolfsbane to him before she really opened tho, I went that way if it's ok? The shiny red paste that she was forming with the crushed petals gave off a faint but extremely sweet aroma that was just intoxicating to some people. The petals of the flower used as an ingredient in a love potion one that Aura made and sold at her shop. Looking up to see who it was that had walked into her shop and greeted her she saw it was Remus Lupin. She was not fully acquainted with the young man he had become a regular even visiting the shop for Aconite before she had been officially opened. It was only after a few times of him coming that she finally made a theory and confronted him with it, on why he needed the Aconite. Aura simply had offered for him to buy the actual Wolfsbane potion which she could easily make. Potions was natural subject that came to her and she always chose to sell a few select potions, like her love potion and Wolfsbane. ”Remus good to see you, how are you this morning?” she asked in her cheerful tone as she removed more petals to be crushed.
The counter that Aura stood behind bore a glass display case with a handful of potions crafted by Aura for sale ranging from her own love potion, sleep, variety of healing potions and a potion to go for a certain theme. In a few clear vials of gold liquid priced at an expensive rate were some of the Felix Felicis that she had made to go along with theme of luck during March. The more petals Aura crushed and turned into the paste the stronger the faint sweet smell got, Aura poured the paste into a cauldron filled with a light blue liquid. ”Sorry for the smell Remus I’ve been trying to restock my love potions, it takes a few weeks to brew but I’m finally near the end. Valentines day wiped me out” she said with a laugh as she washed her hands off in the sink behind the counter. The sweet aroma got stronger before eventually starting to faint away again as Aura bewitched the ladle to stir the paste in the blue colored liquid turning it into a sort of sparkly violet color.
Figuring Remus had come in for more Wolfsbane potion she opened a small cabinet underneath the counter pulling out a blue bottle that was dark enough to cloud what kind of liquid was in the bottle. Aura did not advertise that she sold crafted Wolfsbane potions because she did not want to draw attention to those buying it knowing people could be judgmental. So, she always made sure it wasn’t on display and that the bottle was discreate enough to prevent a skilled Potioneer guessing it was Wolfsbane. Walking over to Remus she handed the potion to him assuming this is what he needed. "Here you go dear" she said as cheerful as always.

| | "And you," Remus offered with a smile, though the exhaustion he still felt deep in his bones evident on his face. "Always a pleasure." It was a true statement, not forced out of obligatory small talk. Aura was always a bright spot in his day, and he didn't think he'd ever seen her in a foul mood. It did wonders for his own. The only time he'd been wary of her, in fact, was when she confronted him about being what he was, and as was his natural reaction, Remus had panicked. But Aura was so kind and gentle about it, offering to make his life easier instead of banishing him or worse. Merlin knew there were worse ways she could have reacted. Instead, she offered to sell him the finished potion which came with immense relief to the young man who had never been good at potions. Wolfsbane was a miserable experience for him and he ruined more batches of it than he completed, probably, so he took her up on the offer with gratitude that was still unending. He waved away the apology for the smell, coming to to the counter and leaning against it, supported by his elbows. "It's actually kind of nice. A little strong, perhaps, but nice." The strength of the smell had nothing to do with her potion, either, he assumed. His sense of smell was a bit more keen than the average person. He still remembered being a small thing actually smelling emotions for the first time. Grief and fear were the strongest, and they certainly took time to get used to. "Big sellers, are they, even after Valentine's Day?" Didn't surprise him, really. Everyone wanted to feel loved, even if it was manufactured. Some people were desperate for it, even. Remus felt fulfilled enough with friends and family that he didn't see himself ever purchasing it. To each his own. As soon as she produced the small bottle for him, he was setting the exact amount on the counter, thanking her as he pocketed the item. "Lifesaver, this," he added, patting his pocket gently. It helped. It didn't fix everything, but he had hopes that as the potion was improved upon and worked on, that it would make things better. Even still, he woke in the mornings after the full moon with less blood on his body, less exhaustion, even less ache in his bones. Sometimes, likely when it was mixed stronger than others, he could function as a person again the next day. He wanted to thank her again for not selling him out and telling anyone about him, and for helping him, but it was all but unnecessary anymore. He'd said it so many times, she had to know that Remus would have done practically anything for her for all the help she'd given him. " 'm all right," he told her at length, finally answering the question she'd asked when he first walked in. It was a standard answer, and not entirely true, all things considered, but he supposed they could always be worse, too. He'd just hit a low point that he wasn't sure how to break out of yet. He'd get there. "How are things around here, post Valentine's stock aside?"Tag: Aurelie Evaine Sage Words: 543 Notes: Ahh sorry about that. But that's perfect, thank you! Also, I read somewhere that that potion didn't really exist until Remus was older, so I'm just sort of going under the guise of, it's not perfected yet. | |

The laws of nature are unbreakable No matter how ancient or powerful the person TAG: @junebug . WORDS: 622. NOTES: NOTES HERE The sweet smell of the love potion started to become more mellow as the ladle finished stirring leaving the potion as a sparkly, and swirling cloud of violet color. The potion was one of Aura’s own tweaking over the years of traveling she found a certain flower which petals gave the sweet aroma and made the potion more intoxicating for the person under it’s influences. That made it a popular item around Valentines Day and Aura had sold them before her grand opening on the week of Valentines day to tease people with the coming grand opening of her store. ”They all sold out during my Valentines week sale and I’m hoping they will keep selling since the petals of this flower here gives it a much more powerful effect” said Aura as she removed the ladle and placed it on the counter. Removing a few clear bottles that were tined with a slight pink/violet color she set them aside by the cauldron.
”I found the flower back in Greece, the smell is much stronger when the flower first blooms, able to be very intoxicating to people” added Aura as she waved her wand around the cauldron. The liquid rose up in a stream and into one of open white, violet-tinged bottles as she waved and twirled her wand in the air. Placing the bottle down she put a purple jeweled cap on it and showed it over to Remus, the potion it was self-swirled around in the bottle like a violet sparkly cloud would shape into a heart when the bottle was shaking in one’s hand. She smiled at Remus comment on the Wolfsbane potion being a lifesaver, she was glad she could help him. She felt it was horrible that werewolves were forced to be registered with the Ministry feeling they were more in tune with nature than the rest of them. Who gave man a right to govern nature?
”It’s always here for you Remus anytime” said Aura in a reassuring tone wanting him to know that she would never not give him the potion. Even if Remus couldn’t pay she would still give him the potion, that’s just how she was. Speaking of money, she picked up the coins that Remus had placed on the counter dropping them in an enchanted wooden box that sat underneath the counter. She nodded at him saying he was all right, she had hoped to hear he was doing better but she knew being a werewolf was not easy. The fact that one had to drink a potion made with a poison lethal to them to help their transformation and not lose control was crazy. However; nature she had learned could be a bitch.
So far with the stop being just opened, she was busier than she thought she would be, a shop devoted truly to herbology had found a nice little niche in Mystic Alley and had attracted others from across the community. The offers to help tutor those in Herbology for free with her own little set of classes was garnering attention, the Minister had placed several large orders of flowers for the renovations of her garden. Aura was alone to deal with it all and run the shop, as she had hired no one to help her. ”It’s been rather busy from filling custom orders, running the shop, and of course having to take care of all of the plants” said Aura as she tilted her head towards the back of the shop where the entrance of the greenhouse was. The greenhouse held so many plants, to be taken care of not to mention Aura’s own little garden and greenhouse that she had at her house.

| | Remus nodded, paying apt attention as she spoke. It was no coincidence that Remus had rather enjoyed herbology, even taking the ribbing from Peter who took it upon himself to tell Remus he was going to be an old man tending to his garden. It sure beat Potions, though, which he still had a particular distaste for. The irony was that now he all but depended on a potion that was remarkably difficult to get his hands on in any reputable sort of way. Until he'd met Aura, anywhere. The guy considered himself very lucky to have run into her and found his way to her good side. She was nonjudgemental, unassuming, and always managed to make Remus feel like his day was going just a little better for having spoken with her. What a lovely effect to have on a person, and he wondered if she even know she was doing it. "I can see why it's so popular. Or, smell why, rather," he amended. There were times when his oversensitive nose was a nuisance, but he actually rather liked the smell of the flower she was crushing and adding to her potion. Although he never understood the point, a lot of people used it. He was fascinated though by the different ways that different plants could react and work, and the idea that same flower grown in Greece was more potent than one grown in London was at least interesting, wasn't it? Maybe, if the whole professor thing didn't work out (or bartender at that seedy joint in Knockturn Alley), he could open his own little greenhouse. Not to compete with her, of course, but he could be a supplier for some potion makers, maybe for St. Mungo's. Ridiculous. When asked as a four year old, when the world was still open to him, he would have never thought that he'd be thrilled to just be raising plants. At this point, he felt like he'd be lucky to fall into that career path. He very nearly rolled his eyes at himself and watched as she bottled the potion. The violet color was pretty, too, but reminded him a little too keenly of the dark, smokey blue that he associated with Wolfsbane. It was an interesting contrast of potions whose colors were so complimentary. He peeked past her into the greenhouse, smiling slightly at just the little he could see. There was something calming about it- nature in its gentlest of forms, at least from looking from afar. He knew how dangerous some plants could be, some that could cause really damage, too, but stick him in the middle of a forest and he'd be a thousand times more comfortable than the middle of the concrete and steel of London. A little color did a person some good. "Sounds like you need to get some help in here. Someone who can at least do some admin work." He said it so offhandedly, and didn't even connect the dots to the fact that he was, in fact, looking. The more her little shop grew though (plant pun intended), the busier she would be and the more difficult it would get to do everything herself. Magic could really only help so much, especially when it was so extraordinarily difficult to get a time turner. Tag: Aurelie Evaine Sage Words: 553 Notes: | |

The laws of nature are unbreakable No matter how ancient or powerful the person TAG: @junebug . WORDS: 496. NOTES: sorry took so long Aura smiled as she went back to the cauldron holding the rest of the potion flicking her wand and having it pour into more bottles, one by one she closed each bottle until there was a dozen or few more of love potions ready to be sold to customers wanting them. She gave a chuckle as Remus noted on how he could smell and see why they were so popular. The flower did make the potion more popular than other love potions at least in her mind as far as she saw. Aura grabbed the rest of the bottles and stocked the display case with them making sure to shake each bottle before placing it in the case, ensuring the sparkling cloud swirled around inside the bottle. Making a mental note that she would need to start another batch by end of the week to ensure she would have more on hand later in case they start selling out fast. She had a few of the plants left but would soon have to pay a visit to her home country to get a few more to ensure she remains in stock of the plant itself since it had a wide variety of benefits including healing ones.
When Remus mentioned that it sounded like she needed help in the store at least someone for the administration part of it, she quickly nodded and agreed with him. It was true she could use someone who could help at least with the other part of the stuff and even maybe willing to learn how to do some other stuff that Aura took care of. Through Aura would always personally ensure to each plant in the store and greenhouses and would never put them all in anyone’s hands no matter who they were. Part of her wondered if Remus himself could be someone that could help her out in the store. He did mention the idea and she knew that many werewolves usually struggled to find a job and a compassionate boss to their condition and what it entailed. Aura was compassionate as they came an example by willing to make wolfsbane potion for free if needed.
”The help would be greatly appreciated, by any chance are you interested in helping out?” asked Aura sort of bluntly without really thinking what she said through. A few seconds passed before she realized that she better clarifies that it would be an actual job, with pay and what she expected exactly. ”I mean I would pay you well, it would be helping with customers, the admin stuff while I mainly could focus on the plants and fulfilling any custom orders. You could also learn a great lot if you’re interested in Herbology” said Aura adding the last part of willing to show him more about the field if wanted. She wasn’t sure if Remus would take her up on the offer, but she saw no harm in throwing it all out there.

| | Remus honestly hadn't meant anything by his comment, and he certainly wasn't fishing for a job offer. After all, he'd technically gotten that bartending job in Knockturn Alley and had come to terms, in his head, that it was the best he was going to be able to come up with, at least for the time being. He'd even gone so far as to convince himself that it would help with what he was doing for the Order- he'd be closer to some of the unsavory types and maybe overhear useful information, anything to take back to the Order. Anything, really, to make himself feel like he was useful and not completely worthless. It was a real change from his Hogwarts days, and for a while, for seven glorious years, he thought maybe the world wasn't so cruel as to see him any differently than anyone else. All of this lead him to the ever so eloquent response to her suggestion of "Sorry?" He knew he hadn't misheard her, but it didn't seem quite right that he'd heard the woman correctly, either. She continued, though, and it sounded just... perfect, actually. He wasn't great at potions, but he was good at herbology, and he was good with details. Administrative work was basically homework, and he was a regular expert at that. Remus, monster by definition, was wonderful with tending to plants and not only keeping them alive, but allowing them to thrive, proving a gentleness that Remus often didn't even associate with himself. It was clear, too, that she didn't have any problem with his condition, which was a wonderful relief. Still, he felt the need to remind the woman, even though she'd just handed him the dark blue potion that didn't really have another use. "I'd have to take a day or so off... fairly consistently." Had he said he was interested yet? A wonderful opportunity was being handed to him, and he was going about it all wrong. "Sorry," he finally offered with a laugh, his hand through his hair and all but admitting that he knew he was terribly awkward. "I really appreciate the offer. Are you sure? I'm very interested and I'd be very organized and meticulous."Remus was smiling warmly, almost unaware that he was even doing it, but the prospect of holding a job he actually liked, with a person he trusted, that he didn't need to feel ashamed of, was almost like a goal he was starting to think he would never see come to fruition. "I could start any time, really. Whatever kind of schedule you'd like me to keep."Tag: Aurelie Evaine Sage Words: 438 Notes: So sorry hun. I love Aura, she's a doll. Life has just been rough and I'm posting slow because of it. | |
