The air was filled with smoke but not from any fire that was on the ground, instead the night sky was alive as flames danced across it. The fire roared from all angles of the night sky, the moon was a deep blood red color, and the stars were gone as they fell from the sky. Screams for mercy and those in agony pierced through the silence of the night. It was pure chaos as the world stood upon an apocalyptic scenario as the heavens burned above and the fire from the underworlds reached from beneath the earth. Amid it all their Percival stood his eyes fixated on the fire above him an evil smile played on his face. ”The heavens burn, and the ancient ones have fallen…your pitiful guardians are gone…you are all alone” he said but his voice was deeper than normal. Deep and loud enough that buildings nearby shook as it traveled through the fields and forests nearby, all the way to the castle burning across the water. As Percival turned and walked towards the water he could the smell the stench of blood in the air. Fallen blood, of pure innocents fallen and killed by one of their own, one corrupted by something dark and forgotten.
His feet led him directly to where the stench grew stronger despite, his attempts to walk the other direction. Percival wasn’t in control of himself, he was nothing more than a soul putting up futile attempt to fight back. His heart pumped faster knowing what was coming next, half gleefully anxious and the other half terrified to his core. The sight was the horror that Percival dreaded but on the outside, his evil grin grew to a bright happy smile. The bodies of his family lay by the shore of the black lake that was now a deep red. A laugh escaped that was something of a maniacal coyote followed by a dreadful scream. ”You didn’t escape this future…Percival…you are the bringer of their doom. You never won” spoke Percival as he stopped screaming and just looked at the burning night sky and castle in the distance.
This time as he screamed he jolted awake, his scream of terror had to pierce the sky and wake someone up he thought. That’s when he noticed he was not in bed but on a ground of grass and dirt, that was wet and cold. The only source of light was the moon and stars, looking around he noticed his hand was grasping his wand. ”Lumos” whispered Percival as the tip of his wand lite up to show the Shrieking Shack. ”How the hell did I get here?” he said out loud, getting up to his feet and shining the light around, he was completely alone.
