Come as you are,as you were Come doused in mud, soaked in bleach,as I want you to be, as a trend,as a friend,as and old TAG: @open. WORDS: 239. NOTES: January 1979-9:30AM It was a windy January morning as Sybil apparated in front of Hogsmeade Village, where people had already populated it somewhat. It was day students would soon be visiting the village which always was a nice thing especially in today’s current climate. People needed to feel safe and able to go on their normal business and not hole up in their houses. The more normal and safer people felt the more secure Sybil was in her job and she knew it. The election had been close, while she won praise for being accessible to the public more than her predecessors she was also doubted as unable to handle the threat of Voldemort. The doubt from the public weighed on her mind as she walked in the village smiling at people she passed by.
She glanced down at the amulet on the gold chain around her neck, it was a solid emerald color showing that danger wasn’t nearby, at least not the danger is detected. Breathing a sigh of relief, she stepped into Tomes and Scrolls one of the local bookshops that were tremendously quiet inside. ”Good morning I am looking for some material on Minister Hesphaestus Gore, do you have any?” she asked the shopkeeper cheerfully. Hesphaestus had dealt with rebellions of all kinds of magical beings and successfully dealt with them and left office on his own accord, she wanted more insight on his tenure and actions.

Don't mistake my silence for ignorance, my calmness for acceptance or my kindness for weakness
It was infrequent these days for Bonnie to find herself in Hogsmeade, which might have confused some considering that she basically lived next door to the village, but marking was a beast which had reared its ugly head in the blonde's life more regularly than it had previously just lately, and she had thought herself lucky to be able to escape her office, never mind the castle. Today, however, was something of an exception. Bonnie had done something which she had not done in a long while. She had afforded herself a day off. As much as she loved the castle, its grey stone walls could begin to become oppressive after a while. It had been a relief just to step out through the impressive main doors and take a deep breath of the chilly winter air.
Presently, she was engaged in no particular pursuit but was rather happily wandering from one shop to another, eyeing their wares with interest and smiling broadly at anyone she met- which probably gave her the appearance of being ever so slightly mad, but Bonnie didn't care. In any case, she was a Seer and a Divination teacher; most people thought she was mad anyway. Stepping into Tomes and Scrolls, she promptly managed to very nearly walk into someone. "Oh, I'm so sorry..." the witch apologised vaguely, stepping back.

Come as you are,as you were Come doused in mud, soaked in bleach,as I want you to be, as a trend,as a friend,as and old TAG: @bonnie . WORDS: 251. NOTES: NOTES HERE The recent events committed by the Dark Lord and his followers were causing more fear and didn’t help Sybil’s place in the Ministry. Considering the public soured on her last two predecessors she felt it was only matter of time things happen to her unless she showed achievements. Was a book about an ancient long dead Minister going to help that? Probably not but Sybil need some inspiration for new ideas plus she wanted insight on just how he had dealt with such rebellions. Nodding as the shopkeeper retreated to the back of the shop, Sybil paced near the front of the shop. One hand clutching the necklace as she looked at a few books that were in the front of the shop. Turning around, the shopkeeper returned with two books about the Minister Gore with both focused on his actions and tenure as Minister. ”Perfect these are wonderful…my dear I completely forgot but, do you have a book about celestial events and magic?” spoke Sybil softly as he nodded and went to the back once more.
Hearing the door to the shop open, Sybil turned around to see who had came in with a smile on her face as usual. Soon as she turned around she almost bumped right into the person as they stopped right before walking into Sybil. ”It’s perfectly fine, no problem at all. Sybil Galanis nice to meet you” replied Sybil her tone cheerfully as always as she stuck her hand out to greet the lady.

Don't mistake my silence for ignorance, my calmness for acceptance or my kindness for weakness
It was rare for Bonnie to have spontaneous visions. The Inner Eye was a fickle and unpredictable blessing, if indeed one could call it a blessing, and whilst it was quite common for her to experience a form of prescience whilst out and about, fully fledged visions were far less common for the blonde, and so she was somewhat taken aback when she found herself no longer standing in a bookshop but rather in some dark and indeterminate place. All was misty, and Bonnie watched, helpless, as shadowy figures moved amongst the whirling fog and swirled and vanished into thin air. Someone screamed, and suddenly she found herself back in the bookshop, blinking in the sudden but reassuring light.
Prepared for whatever catastrophe might arise next in the black and gloomy world from which she had just emerged, Bonnie was therefore not at all ready for the warm and bright one to which she had just returned, and consequently it took her a moment to adjust. For a second or two, she simply stared at the outstretched hand, before taking and shaking it. "Bonnie Winterbourne." she introduced herself, wondering whether her deepening conviction that this woman was bad news came from her subconscious mind or was merely a sensation left over from the sudden shock which she had just had.

Come as you are,as you were Come doused in mud, soaked in bleach,as I want you to be, as a trend,as a friend,as and old TAG: @bonnie . WORDS: 300. NOTES: Outfit Sybil watched as the lady looked like she was in a completely different world instead of in the shop with them. Her eyes just stared at Sybil’s hand for a few seconds instead of taking it, in return Sybil stared at her back with a sort of confused look. Strange… thought Sybil as she waited for the lady to shake her hand. Soon she did, and it seemed she had returned to the store from whatever world she had been on for a few seconds. Bonnie Winterbourne was her name apparently, Raina was unaware of who she was and hadn’t heard the name before. Either way Sybil was the Minister and she had a reputation to live up to and that meant being accessible to the people and finding out what else she could do as Minister. ”Very nice to meet you Ms. Winterbourne, I hope all is well this morning” replied Sybil.
Turning around she heard the shopkeeper return to the counter and call her “Madam Minister”, presenting her with a few books that matched what she was looking for. Might as well take all of them thought Sybil as she reached for a few coins from her purse. ”I’ll just take them all dear, how much is it? she asked before handing over a number of coins plus a few extra as a tip like she normally did. She refused to take anything for free, or for a lower price and if anything, Sybil usually ended up paying more and giving big tips considering her position and considering her wealth. Turning back to the blonde woman she smiled at her wondering what she did for a living. ”If I may ask Ms. Winterbourne what do you do for a living?” asked Sybil in her usual polite tone.

It was not uncommon for people to look blank when Bonnie introduced herself and, to be honest, she thought she might get more of a reaction if she went around introducing herself by her maiden name. But her marriage had been a long, drawn out process which had changed her a lot as a person, and as such, she wanted to keep her married name. It was a reminder of what she had suffered, and it was a reminder of what she should have done differently. One which she did not intend to allow herself to lose. Not if she could help it. She had gone through the furnace, and in that furnace, she had been forged into someone new.
Pretty much the only thing that Bonnie appreciated about pureblood society was their tendency for the courtesy which appeared to be dying out elsewhere in the world. "As well as may be expected." she conceded. She raised an eyebrow in interest as the shopkeeper introduced her new acquaintance, albeit inadvertently, as being the Minister for Magic. Well, there was someone who you didn't meet every day. Idly, she wondered what the woman was intending to do about the current issue. Perhaps she was being prejudiced, but it seemed to her that this woman was ill-prepared to deal with the Death Eaters, who were violent by nature and utterly fanatical. "I teach Divination." she responded to the question with a smile, hoping that the Minister was not one of the many people who regarded that as a soft subject. Bonnie was a practical, down to earth woman, and she fully intended to eliminate the impression of Divination as being wooly within the next couple of years.

Come as you are,as you were Come doused in mud, soaked in bleach,as I want you to be, as a trend,as a friend,as and old TAG:@bonnie . WORDS: 286. NOTES: Sorry its short. She nodded at the blonde’s answer of how the morning was treating her so far. She had hoped to hear the new lady she just met, was having a more positive morning so far. Turning around she stacked her books together, stacking the books about Minister Gore on top. Hopefully she could find some ideas or inspiration from them about how Minister gore handed the chaos during his tenure as Minister. ”Well I hope the day goes good for both of us and gets even brighter” chimed Sybil in her cheerful tone. Cheerfulness was typical Sybil when she was out in public and around people, it won her praise from the people, helped secure her election as Minister against a man seen as inaccessible and uncaring to the people. A man who never saw it coming thought Sybil with a smile on her face.
When she heard the lady respond that she taught Divination as a living, Sybil snapped out her thoughts about how she betrayed her boss to secure her job. Divination was a subject of interest to Sybil, and she had taken the class since her third year at Hogwarts, despite never being outstanding at the subject. The main reason she stayed with it was due to the connection she saw it shared with Astrology, a field she was passionate in given the few books on it that she was purchased. ”Really? It’s a marvelous subject. I always felt Astronomy was better suited for myself but I quite enjoyed Divination during my time at Hogwarts” said Sybil showing interest in the woman’s job.
”How long have you been teaching at Hogwarts?” asked Sybil, as she was more interested in the lady before than earlier.

Don't mistake my silence for ignorance, my calmness for acceptance or my kindness for weakness
In point of fact, Bonnie was having a rather good time at the moment. Her life was going quite extraordinarily well, which, given her past experiences, had admittedly made her more than a little suspicious. She had a steady job, she had the opportunity to work hard, to make something of her life, and while she might have left it somewhat later than she would have liked and certainly later than she had once intended, this was not an opportunity which she intended to waste if she could help it. And she absolutely could help it, because Bonnie was not only a Seer but a very determined woman, and Shakespeare had got it right. Hell hath no fury. And fury was nothing like the word to describe Bonnie when she was in a bad mood.
Pretentious people were one of the many things which Bonnie disliked. It was one of the many reasons why she had chosen to withdraw as far as she could from pureblood society, since that was practically the definition of pretentiousness. It got on the woman's nerves- in fact, it went further than that; it drove her right up the wall. "It's not for everyone." the witch agreed with a smile. "One needs a certain degree of talent, of course, and many people are sceptical... Ah, but I'm sure you don't want to listen to me expounding on the subject of Divination until the cows come home. I've been teaching since... let me see. Since 1975... No, 76!"

Come as you are,as you were Come doused in mud, soaked in bleach,as I want you to be, as a trend,as a friend,as and old TAG: @bonnie . WORDS: 343. NOTES: NOTES HERE While at Hogwarts Astronomy had been one of Sybil’s most favorite classes, and she had probably spent thousand hours gazing through a telescope of the Astronomy tower. Not only did she enjoy the class and learning about star patterns but, she also excelled at it. There was something about the thought of them being just one small thing in such a huge universe that had profound impact on Sybil. It presented the idea that ancient cultures were right in believing that celestial events were tied to something more than just a spell, but a divine act of a God or sprit. Astronomy was the area of enlightened thinkers in her mind. Divination on the other hand had been a different story. Sybil had never fallen in love with Divination instead it was more like a requirement to take it due to her own theory of a close connection between the two areas. Her NEWTS showed for it as well with her only getting a ‘A’ instead of an ‘O’ like she did in Astronomy. Three years at Hogwarts thought Sybil making a mental note. ”I had a few classmates who dropped the class because of them being skeptics, I just don’t possess the particular talents for it” said Sybil.
Part of her wondered where the woman had taught at or what she did before taking a Professor job at Hogwarts, but she knew it would be rude to pry. At this point, Sybil wasn’t trying to make any unneeded enemies or lose a vote by simply being too nosy to one of her constituents. Anything they can find to make the woman fail thought Sybil, as she chalked most opposition up to that she was a woman who looked weak compared to a strong man. ” I always have some time to listen to the wonders of Divination, especially from someone talented in the field Professor” responded Sybil in her normal cheerful tone. It was the truth she had no public events today and any meetings were in later part of the day.
