It was a beautiful winter day! The sun was shinning down on the blanket of white snow across the school grounds and Lenore was enjoying the early morning walk. She'd had an early breakfast in her chambers, brought to her by one of the house elves. She was looking forward to the day, it was the first Hogsmeade weekend of the new year and a good time for students that went home for Christmas to catch up properly with their friends that might have been in other houses. As head of Hufflepuff Lenore had volunteered to head to Hogsmeade, to be one of the staff down there and on duty making sure that the students weren't getting too rowdy or irritating any of the locals. The students were usually all pretty brilliant, especially her Hufflepuffs, not that she had favourites! That would of course be wrong and very un-Hufflepuff but of all the houses Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw seemed to be the ones that got in the least amount of trouble down in Hogsmeade and even up at the castle.
With all the crowds expected Lenore made little plans in her mind to visit Honeydukes first. The students always packed that place. As a student herself she recalled going two or three times a day! There was always something she missed the first time around and she usually wouldn't remember it until after she saw someone else with the scrummy looking forgotten treat. There was just always so much and such busy crowds it was hard to get around in the little shop that was filled with all the delicious things in life! Yes, she was going to go to Honeydukes and then Scrivenshafts to pick up lots of new quills. Despite students knowing to have quills there were always some that forgot to bring them down from the dorm or some that had broken. Lenore liked to just keep a few basic spare ones on her desk for anyone that needed it but even her little supply was getting low.
The students that were queued at the top of the path inside the castle's gates were slowly let down one by one as their names were checked off on a the list. Lenore was almost at the village but took on its wondrous sights on offer. The snow was laying like a picture along the roof tops of the village. Every home and business was just covered. That path gleamed and glittered and only the foot paths were cleared. Along the road were tracks of hooves and carriages that had been pulled through the town recently but not too many. Possibly only two tracks. Not many people visited the quaint little village when it was a student weekend, they preferred to come at a quieter time usually.
The little bell above the door of Honeydukes jingled as she entered the establishment, Jo the store assistant popping her head out from the back to see who her customer was. The ladies exchanged some friendly greetings and chat before Jo disappeared out the back and Lenore got back to her shopping. The sweetest smells blurring her senses. She told herself time and time again that she would only get a few sweets, she knew she'd only scoff nearly the whole lot, but she kept some for her students. She had a little sweet draw in her desk the she brought out during various lessons if the students had outdone themselves. She was a bit of a soft touch and proud of all her students though so the sweet bowl was often brought out, actually it was always pulled out of the draw so anyone that submitted a potion could also nab a sweet or two if they liked. All her students did just about their best, she didn't tolerate any sort of laziness.
Roaming the shop Lenore picked up a basket and quite a few bags. She started loading them up with all sorts and these were just the ones for her. Behind the counter were Jo worked she knew the older witch would have a new bowl for her. Not that she got a new bowl every time. Lenore had two bowls and when she went to the counter she'd hand over the one she currently had in her bag and she'd swap it for the bowl that was full of sweets and chocolates. They were for her students. These full bags were just for her greedy guts. "Oh yummy sugar quills, you are so sweeeeeeet to eaaaaaaat!" She sang cheerily, picking out some sugar quills, knowing the students would be down any second and she wouldn't be alone in the shop for long, "Oh acid pops, please don't stop!" And she made some popping noises with her lips, pursing them together and releasing while she grabbed a large scoop of the most scrumptious acid pops!

Will watched with a neutral and blank face, the many students and some staff coming down from the castle that held many memories both good and bad for him. But mostly good, and one thing that he definitely enjoyed about Hogwarts was how it and the surrounding area would look during the winter time. He loved the winter and colder months that were part of it and fall as well. No today he was here to provide security, but isn’t that what the regular DMLE officers and young aurors were for? But having a hit wizard or two here wasn’t a bad idea either, but not what he wanted to do on a such a fine day as this.
It had been a while since he had seen her last but will had spotted his favorite cousin, who happened to work up at the school. He wanted to smile but kept up his neutral and blank face as he moved through the crowd of students, professors, and residents of the town and most of them paid him no mind. Will decided to follow his cousin into the sweet shop and when he found it jammed packed with people which was normal for a Hogsmeade weekend, he pushed his way through the crowd with a few of the people moving out of his way. Will did have quite the imposing figure and presence which helped in his line of work and in normal life as well.
He finally managed to find Lenore and this time he couldn’t stop himself from smiling at her attitude, and who could blame her it was a nice day. “Ah ha! I finally found you my long-lost cousin.” He said with a grin of sorts before adding. “You realize the shop is now packed with people, and some of your students are giving you weird looks, right?” Will knew she probably didn’t mind. The last time he had been in here was a few years ago, but that wasn’t the memory that came to mind as he watched the going on around him. It was the memory of when he had last gotten kicked out as a student for accidently knocking over sever shelves of sweets. Lenore wasn't one to shy away from a crowd. If she felt like singing then she was definitely going to sing. Some of her students may have found her tendencies a bit odd but she was warm, friendly and they all sort of got used to it! She wasn't singing all the time, she was fairly toned down although some methods of potion making seemed to work really well with her favoured tunes. Perhaps she was a little barmy but it was all about fun more than anything. She was bright and bubbly and it just kind of spilled over sometime and as the shop door opened, the little bell above ding-a-ling fairly frequently, Lenore just assumed it was all students. There were a few staff that rather liked the treats on offer in the local sweet shop, Geralina in particular sprung to mind, but they all seemed to rather go on an non-Hogwarts weekend. It made sense really but Lenore didn't mind the crowd of students, besides if anything her presence was probably going to keep them from getting in to too much trouble, not that they were all that much trouble, the students were all rather well behaved. Sure there were a few instances of bullies and poop-noggins, but on the whole the students were rather well behaved for a bunch of hormonal kids.
The voice that caught Lenore's attention was one that was all too familiar but not because she'd recently heard it up at the school - it wasn't one of her students - it was her cousin, Will and she had no idea he'd be near Hogsmeade today of all days! She supposed it wasn't exactly common knowledge that it was a Hogwarts weekend for the village but she hoped he wasn't here on official business, being a Hit Wizard if he was here on official business then she was going to have to hurry the children back along to the school where they'd be safe and protected from whomever it was Will was after. Well thinking on it for more than a millisecond, his voice wasn't rushed nor urgent so perhaps things were well. "Will!" She exclaimed cheerfully with a delighted grin set across her features, brightening her already noticeable blue eyes, "Oh, ignore them, they're just jealous I got here first and got a basketful of yummy goodness before them!" She said lifting her basket and posing with it for a second. Of course it was probably the singing that had them staring but they'd get over it all soon enough. "What are you doing here? You have the worst luck in picking a weekend to visit Hogsmeade. I promise next Saturday will be a heck of a lot quieter, unless you're here to pull up a student on something," She said, face turning fake-serious as she turned her head sharply to look at the crowd of students, her lips pursed thoughtfully as her eyes narrowed in on the lot, "Just tell me who it is and I'll sort 'em." And of course she was playing, she figured her students were all good enough to not be pursued by any of the magical law enforcement department, but then again, who knew in these crazy times?

“I can’t just ignore them, you know part of the job is to see everything. And if they are jealous let them be.” He commented. "Besides I think I will take this one off of your hands. It will give them one thing less to be jealous of.” Will said with a hint of amusement in his voice as well as a slight grin making its presence known on his face. He grabbed a chocolate out of the basket that Lenore had and proceeded to unwrap it and eat said chocolate. “This is for your troubles.” He commented and handed her a few galleons that he pulled out of his pant pocket. He could didn’t want her to get in trouble with the shop owner for something that he did. Of course, he was here on official business otherwise he would have definitely not come during a Hogsmeade weekend. “I guess you could say that I am. Granted I didn’t have much choice, but supposedly they wanted some extra security here or something.” He really didn’t want to be here at all, well at least not on babysitting duty. “I could definitely be doing something else but I was sent here for the day.” It was true there were many more things that he could be doing than being here in the village making sure things were going smoothly but isn’t that what the school staff was there for. Otherwise why would the staff come down here on such a busy day. “Better safe than sorry I guess.” He commented dryly.
“No need to reprimand a student on my behalf, although it would be very amusing to watch.” He had been reprimanded many times as a student thanks to how he acted, but nothing he did ever warranted the involvement of any one from the department of magical law enforcement. “So, how are classes going? Any promising or talented students?” Will asked as he looked around the now crowded sweet shop taking note of all of the people coming and going. It was out of habit more than anything.

Lenore let out a little laugh, Will was always on duty and there was nothing that would change that! She supposed it was all because of his training and his job, and not to mention he was apparently on duty so there was no way he could be distracted fully while he was actually working! Will was far more professional than to play in to little distractions but he was still Will enough to have fun! She looked playfully outraged as he stole one of her chocolates from her basket and she was more than happy for him to steal it and he even gave her some money towards it. He was such a cheeky so-and-so sometimes but she still adored him! He was family and Lenore loved all of her family, she grew up close with them all and there was a bond that couldn't be broken, her cousins were more like her brothers and sisters, just the ones she never had to live with! "Official business in this shop or Hogsmeade overall?" She supposed Hogsmeade would make a lot of sense with the way the world was at the moment. There was so much terror that the students really were in need of extra protection. Some of them may have been exceedingly confident in their abilities but they were still kids. At least most of them were.
Grinning Lenore nodded her head, tilting it from side to side at the same time, making her head bobble around a little in thought. "Lessons are goooood, kids are kids, y'know?" Some students were incredible, some were awful and most were just okay. The incredibles and the okays were her favourites. The awful varied. Some were awful because they so didn't want to be there and they hated the subject so they just mucked about, others just weren't that good at the subject no matter how hard they tried and Lenore felt for them, she really did. There was little else worse than really trying at a subject and still failing but those students she put a lot more effort in with and she got them at least a little better. "How's work? Catching all the baddies and keeping the magical world safe from no good baddies!?" She asked, not really knowing how things were. She knew the wizarding world news couldn't really be relied upon, it was biased and unfair a lot of the times but sometimes it had some truth to it thought the obituaries were getting longer and longer with every passing day and the amount of missing people were truly terrifying.
