A girl should be two things classy and fabulous
Thank the gods that Lyra knew her sister well enough to know when Lilith was having a laugh. You certainly couldn’t tell by looking at the oldest of the sisters. Her fair features were as stoic and collected as if she had just made a comment on the weather to a passerby, instead of making a joke with her dear sisters. Lilith had always been a bit more buttoned up than the rest of the Burke children, but she wasn’t a bore by any means. You just had to know her.
It made Lyra wonder, as she rolled her eyes at the idea of a lime bridesmaid gown, whether Rabastan had learned enough about Lilith to know when she was teasing him. Would Lilith tease him, or would she find that too juvenile with a fiancée? This was, obviously, the first fiancée Lilith had ever had, and Lyra had no way of knowing how she behaved in private with a man she’d been instructed to marry. Lyra couldn’t imagine Lilith making more obvious jokes, smiling broadly and laughing obviously just to ensure Rabastan knew she was taking the mickey of him. No, definitely not. Lilith was not that sort. She wouldn’t put on a show just to make her point known. That was more Lyra’s forte.
The perky blonde moved to pale gold-colored dress that hung on the rail beside the turquoise frock she’d been admiring. It was more subtle than what she would normally flock to but the fabric had a lovely sheen that caught the light when it moved, and that could most certainly work for the young starlet.
A shop attendant came out with a tray of champagne and asked if they needed any help. Lilith, true to form, didn’t respond straight away. Lyra was not so reserved. “Start a room,” she said to the woman, gesturing to the golden dress without making eye contact with the attendant. Lyra simply moved on to the next thing that caught her eye, and while she was having things put in the fitting room for her, she was in no hurry to actually make her way over to the curtained alcoves. She would much rather chat with her sisters and take her time. There wasn’t even any guarantee that Lyra would even try on anything the woman collected for her, but if she did choose to she wouldn’t want to wait.

Only Skin Deep Livvi actually thought she'd get away with lime. On holiday once she'd had a lime coloured bikini and it had looked quite fruity and tropical on her tanned skin. She also tended to get away with other bold colours like yellows and oranges, her mother always told her it was because she was bold spirited herself, but Livvi just figured that she was destined to be loud and proud, even in appearance. She wasn't supposed to be ignored. She didn't enjoy the spotlight quite like Lyra, no, Liv's kind of attention grabbing was more in the chatty and friendly kind of vein. She got on with people, it's just the way she had always been, and she had a zest for life that couldn't be ignored. That was the word. Zesty. She was a zesty person in every way. Probably too zesty for the black silk jumpsuit that her hand plucked from another rail as she passed. It would look stunning on Lilith, but Liv placed it back on the rail and carried on her search. "Really, though," she brushed Lilith's kidding about the lime off. "You need to get a move on deciding what you want, winter will come around quickly and there's nothing worse than panic buying at the last minute." That was a complete lie. Livvi loved last minute buys. She usually managed to find some fabulous pieces when she'd rushed into a shop a few hours before she was meant to be going on a night out, and she loved the thrill of knowing she'd have to find something fast or end up in a right pickle. She took a glass of champagne from the tray the shop assistant had brought out for them and sipped politely on it, not really in the mood for drinking. Lilith had ignored the woman, and Lyra asked for a room to try on the small mountain of clothes she was collecting as she browsed. Livvi was torn. She hadn't really found anything she wanted to try on. Maybe she'd be better as a spectator, a supporter, someone to say yay or nay to the things her sisters tried on. She didn't doubt that they'd look stunning in everything they tried, but they could always count on her for an honest opinion. She was known for being the kinder of the Burkes, but she still had a blunt way about her, especially with her siblings. "Any chance I can sneak Meg in if I promise she'll be good?" she queried over her shoulder, thinking her puppy would definitely not be getting an invite to the wedding. _______________________ tag: Lilith A. Lilith paid no attention to what her sisters were picking up or looking at as they went around the room. She could almost have rolled her eyes at the insinuation that she wasn't ready fro the wedding. She had ideas, she was just waiting for perfection and while Lilith doubted she'd find it in a shop there was always the chance she could be pleasantly surprised. Of course if she found nothing she'd have dresses made. A seamstress pricking at her sisters thighs was rather amusing to Lilith but she'd never say that out loud. She loved her sisters but a little pain here and there was rather amusing, especially when it wasn't anything serious. Lilith didn't think of herself as sadistic but there were just some things that were funny regardless of your sense of humour. "The dresses will be arranged and sorted in no time. You'll both look absolutely stunning." She assured them, of course they would both already know she wouldn't do anything to make either of them look anything less than the perfection they were. She was going to have a beautiful bridal party and she was going to be the most stunning bride imaginable. Ever wedding that ever was and ever would be would forever be compared to hers and none of them would ever match up.
Lilith laughed as Liv asked about her little dog. Lilith didn't really have anything against the animal really but a wedding was not the place for animals. At least not that sort. Unicorns and doves, of course! Dogs? No. They weren't blind, they didn't need any kind of animal assistance and what if the thing started squatting everywhere, leaving yellow snow? Lilith was going to have snow for her wedding and none of it would be yellow. Liv's question wouldn't get a verbal answer from Lilith, instead she circled about the shop looking for dresses, handing them over to the assistant so she could carry on looking while she thought over ideas for her wedding though really she was rather looking forward to getting home and going for a horse ride. Shopping with her sisters was wonderful but it had been a while since she'd galloped across the grounds of Oleander Grove and she was starting to ache for that sort of solitary freedom that could only be found racing through trees and over lush green fields, kicking up soft mud as they went and finishing off with a hot bubble bath and glass of wine, reading a good book until she began to prune a little.

A girl should be two things classy and fabulous
There was absolutely no doubt in any of the women’s minds that Lilith wouldn’t be perfectly poised and prepared come her wedding day. Lyra half wondered if Lilith hadn’t already chosen her sisters’ gowns and was just taunting them by not letting them in on it, but that wasn’t Lilith’s style either. Liv might have done that, had it been her wedding. Then surprised them all with a decoy dress first that made Lyra whine and Lilith go silent before showing off the real bridesmaids’ gowns. Or bridesmatron, as Lilith would most certainly be by the time either of her sisters walked down the aisle. Lyra hated the word matron. It brought to mind feeble, wrinkled old women sitting in rocking chairs knitting and feeding her twelve cats. It was a wicked thing to call someone as lovely as her sister but that would be her title once she was married. Thank Merlin Lyra wasn’t getting married herself, or else the title would be lurking nearby for her as well.
Liv asked about bringing her dog to the wedding and Lilith, true to form, did not respond. Lyra, on the other hand, broke into a smile. “Meg would look lovely in a little lime green dress. You know, to match ours.”

Only Skin Deep Lilith completely ignoring Liv's teasing about having a dog at the wedding was just the reaction Livvi had expected. She often wondered how she had managed to turn out so... normal. Her family were lovely people, warm, loving, generous, those things had definitely been passed on to their youngest daughter, but Liv quite often thought that she should have turned out more like Lilith or Lyra. More of a snob, to put it bluntly, more elegant and ladylike. She could be those things when she needed to, like right now, her posture was perfect, there was never a hint of a wobble on her heels, and she was nothing but respectful to the staff whilst still making it clear that she was above them. It was how they'd all been raised, but behind closed doors, or surrounded by friends, Liv just couldn't keep it up. She dropped all hints of her class and wore short shorts and bikini tops climbing mountains, or roughing it in a tent in some forest somewhere. She almost snorted at the thought of Lilith camping, again, not very ladylike, but she held the snort in and carried on perusing the clothes. "I think I'd look great in lime," she said, peeking over her shoulder to give a very serious nod. She would. Meg wouldn't, she had this shade of fur that was not golden, like her golden retriever status hinted at, but more gingery. She would look hideous in lime, but then she wouldn't be at the wedding, she would be in some lovely doggie parlour for the night, playing and being pampered by people who would treat her better than their own kids. Liv hung a pale pink skirt back on the rail and moved over to a cushy looking pouffe, sinking down onto it and looking to her sisters. "So are you two trying anything on, or are we just going to wander about in here all day to stay out of the cold?" she asked, wondering if the girls were just lingering because it was warm and pretty in here and they were being offered champagne. She wouldn't judge them for it, but Liv didn't mind the cold, and there were other shops to be explored. Time was ticking and nobody was heading into a changing room any time soon. _______________________ tag: Lilith A. C. Lyra and Livvi could attempt to tease her as much as they liked, to try and draw out some kind of reaction from her that would be based in rage at the continued suggestions that Meg would be present at the wedding but it wouldn't work. Lilith was too certain of herself and knew her sisters knew her too well to ever allow such a thing to happen. Lilith loved her sisters dearly, they were special to her in all manner of ways, but if that dog was caught at the wedding for even the briefest of seconds, it would be a dead dog walking. Or a severely sick dog, she wasn't certain that she could go through with killing her sisters companion, or even having someone kill it for her. She loved Liv, she didn't want to leave her heartbroken if she could help it but she was beginning to think of ways to render the dog unwell for the big day. Force Liv to find some kind of doggy baby sitter for the day to make well and truly certain that the dog stayed out of her wedding. Nothing would ruin her special day, especially not some dog.
Livia made a comment about the two of them trying something on and Lilith looked at her scornfully though it wasn't at all in any type of manor to actually suggest she was upset with her sisters comment, she was only teasing the youngest Burke daughter. No, Lilith was quite playful in her own way and it was only really family that really got her sense of humour, none as well as Lucian though. "Keeping you from bigger and better things are we, darling? My apologies." Lilith made her way in to her change room and began trying on her clothes, getting rid of the first one without even showing it off to Liv and Lyra and then stepping out in the light floral gown she'd first picked out. It sat wonderfully she thought but she wasn't quite sure if she could pull of quite a low 'v' neck as this dress had. It was certainly something more to Lyra's suitability, Merlin knew the girl liked to flaunt what she had. "Hmm," She said, running her hands over her slim frame, twisting and turning, looking in the mirrors, showing off a little, "What do you think, Livvi?" After all she found Livia to be rather more impartial when looking at dresses, Lyra seemed to want to get Lilith to flaunt her assets but half the time Lilith was certain Lyra only thought such things just to mess with Lilith.

A girl should be two things classy and fabulous
Lyra could have spent all day trying on dresses and drinking champagne with her sisters, listening to them squawk playfully at each other over dogs and dressing rooms. What else was she to do after having her rehearsal cut short by imbecilic staffers? It worked out marvelously well that her sisters had met up near the theatre, though it wasn’t too much of a coincidence knowing that the finer shoppes were in Whimsic Alley, if you wanted to avoid muggle fashion. Livvi probably would wear muggle clothes without a second thought, not because she was fond of muggles in any regard but simply because of her wild streak. She wasn’t rebellious, not like some pureblood wizards who disgraced their families, but simply wild. Adventurous. And a little audacious. On the other hand, if Lilith even so much as suspected muggles had been involved in designing any piece of clothing in her wardrobe, she’d have burned the whole thing to the ground. Lyra, as in most ways, was stuck in the middle of the sisterly spectrum that were the Burke girls.
Deciding not to purchase anything, Lyra joined her sisters at a few more shoppes where she found a pair of boots and a cloak she liked. She had it sent to her flat directly, so that she wouldn’t have to carry her purchases around in a bag just to get wrinkled. It was a lovely turn of events to have a shopping day with her sisters, but soon enough it was time to part ways. They were all grown witches now, with jobs and social lives of their own to keep up. In their younger days they would have just kept each other company until bed time, then retired to their own rooms and chat through their enchanted mirrors with each other until one of them inevitably fell asleep. Parting now was much more orchestrated and deliberate, and not nearly as fun as bewitching a pig nose on Lilith when she began to snore before Livvi and Lyra.
“We’ll need to plan a proper wedding planning date,” Lyra remarked, giving her older sister a kiss on the cheek. “Drinks and dresses and whatnot.” She smiled and turned to give her younger sister a farewell smooch as well. “Ring me when you want to get together, again. I’ll have Bernard move my schedule at the theatre around to fit whatever you’d like. Except show dates, of course. Ticket holders get so up in arms if you cancel a show for a dinner date,” she said playfully, clearly joking as she would perform unwell, getting sick in the wings before cancelling a performance if she could help it.
