With a flourish of her wand the quill under her control scrawled her signature at an angle cross the bottom of a piece of parchment sitting on her desk. The benefit of being a writer for a private magazine was she could take her work wherever she chose and take an afternoon off here and there as she pleased. Lilith enjoyed her life of luxury, she had a job that fit around her own schedule. Lyra was always at someone else command, if she didn’t obey she was fired and if she was fired for being a diva no one would use her for work again. Liv had to go where she was needed when she was needed or again, she’d be fired. All Lilith had to do was submit whatever the hell she wanted to the Editor by the end of Wednesday afternoon and they’d make it work. Of course it was time consuming but Lilith preferred to do her work in the comfort of her home. Her office was nearly entirely decretive. A picture of her family, a picture of her fiancé, pictures of her winning her various awards and decorative writing sets. All her practical stuff sat away in her draws, only ever out when needed, such as now.
With another wave of her wand and then a flick, Lilith’s quill and ink put itself away in her top draw. Her coat few over and hovered behind her. Delicately she slipped her left hand in, switched her wand to her other hand and then slipped her right hand in. Gently she adjusted the collar of the coat to fit more snuggly and then proceeded to pull the cashmere wool coat over the snug fitting blue dress she wore today. The dress and the coat both hugged against her hour-glass figure, making sure she retained a silhouette of her hard worked for body. She had no plans for this afternoon but there was never anything wrong with a spot of shopping. Diagon Alley was a popular spot but Lilith felt like something a little different. She fancied a higher end brand of shopping, as she usually did, and so Whimsic Alley was on her list of places to visit. Cute little shops, betters bars and restaurants. Her mind was already made up. She was going to head to Whimsic Alley.
Grabbing the parchment that lay still upon her desk, the tall blonde headed for the exit of her office. As she exited the room her office door shut behind her, lock clicking into the place and the lights dimming until they were out. She walked across the floor, workers busy working and she landed the parchment onto Liv's in-pile, knowing she'd be pleased with this particular job but she wasn't giving her sister any clues, just an address, a name, and a time, the note telling her to prepare for all environments, not that it had to be specified, Liv was always prepared from everything and anything. Even if she wasn't Lilith's sister, Lilith would still have preferred working with Liv purely because she was the best in the office and Lilith found her easy to get on with in a work capacity. Home life she could be a little much from time to time but Lilith still adored her youngest sister and her spirit.
Lilith was out of the constricting building before she knew it. She hated to admit it but she rather had some similarities with her youngest sister. Liv was openly a free bird but Lilith put up with the confines of a building and often. There was plenty she'd rather be doing, horse riding was the one that sprung to mind in the moment, but she'd worked and now she was going to surround herself with more buildings. She was going to shop and she was going to buy herself plenty of beautiful things, have them sent to her home and then indulge in a light, late lunch before heading home, dressing in something elegant and having an evening with her fiancé some place lavish that charged far more than it ought to. For now she was disapparting to Whimisc Alley, brushing the outside of her coat off as she looked up and down the alley from the apparation point she'd appeared at, noting how much better off these people looked. Of course when the sun set there were a few gentleman bars in the vicinity but during the day, Lilith thought as she stepped out into the crowd, it was certainly a better place to shop.

Only Skin Deep It was mid afternoon and Liv had been working her perky backside off all morning photographing ugly people for a private client who was paying her a hefty sum to take family portraits in their fancy back garden, which had been covered in snow for the occasion. Liv adored kids and was quite the fun babysitter if she was needed for it, but these brats had been impossible all bloody morning. Not only were they ugly as sin, just like their toad-like parents, but they'd refused to take any direction from her at all, and so she'd resorted to climbing up a tree just to get the right angle that didn't look like they were scowling and sulking. She'd taken some pictures of them all from behind, one of which looked like they were all strolling happily towards their ugly manor house, when in reality, the kids were storming off while the parents chased after them making bribes and promises of ridiculously expensive gifts if they stuck at it for a bit longer. They hadn't even offered Liv a drink, and she'd had to pretend to nip to the toilet and sneak through the kitchen to steal a glass of water while they all argued in their fake snow. Needless to say it had been a trying morning, and she felt so pissed off by the end of the job that she'd decided to treat herself to lunch in Whimsic Alley. Lunch on the rooftop seating area - all magically heated and charmed to shelter diners from the chilly wind - of the Piatto Di Fantasia restaurant had been so nice she'd ordered dessert, too, and stuffed her pretty little face like a complete piggy. She'd hovered around afterwards for as long as was polite, scared to move in case she burst, but eventually she had paid her bill and made her way outside, perusing a few shops and then stopping for coffee. She was sitting in the window of a cute cafe, treating her beloved camera to some pretty views after the morning it had had, when something very pretty indeed came into focus through the lens. Tall, elegant, blonde, gorgeous. Lilith floated along the street like an angel who knew she was far superior to everyone she passed. Livia smiled. Clicking away, she took a few snaps as the winter sun shone down magnificently on her sister's hair, and then knocked loudly on the window to get her attention as Lilith neared, waving her free hand to make sure she didn't go unnoticed. _______________________ tag: Lilith A. The knocking at the window caught Lilith's attention immediately. It was loud and brash and not the sort of sound one expected to hear in such a respectable place. Lilith's head turned towards the noise, like many others in the vicinity, and there, smiling and waving like a recently escaped mental patient, was Livia. Of course that was who was calling the ruckus. There was no taking her anywhere, not that Lilith had taken her anywhere, her sister, who Lilith had assumed was working as she should be, had managed to find her own way to Whimsic Alley, presumably for lunch and possibly a bit of shopping. The blonde had her camera with her so perhaps she had been working and intended on working again after whatever it was she was doing. Lilith on the other hand had no intentions of working for the rest of the day. She was shopping and then she was having a wonderful evening out with her fiancé. Where they would be going she wasn't sure, but it was bound to be some place marvellous, he was never a disappointment in surprising her.
Lilith looked about at the people in the street that were looking from Livia to herself. She smiled politely, a little sheepishly and looked back to Livia, twitching her head to indicate her sister really should join her out on the street rather than disturbing so many patrons that were trying to have a leisurely afternoon. There were people here that would recognise her for Merlin's sakes! But Livia didn't care about these people, she didn't have to be married off into the pureblood world, she got to take her time before mother and father shoved her in the direction of a wealthy male that would support her for life. A nice home, plenty of travels to exotic lands. It would suit Livvi quite well apart from the whole commitment part but it wasn't as if it was fully expected for pureblood couples to stay loyal. It was well known that the men weren't and the women, while more subtle, were definitely unfaithful. Lilith didn't believe herself unfaithful, she'd never slept with a man. She had no idea if her fiancé was the faithful sort, she had no reason to doubt him thus far in their relationship but he was a man and it was often said that a man would think with the brain in his underpants rather than the one in his head. Lilith rather hoped her relationship would grow into love, like her parents were in love. Lilith was certain that in their entire relationship, neither of her parents had strayed.

A girl should be two things classy and fabulous
“I’ll be in my dressing room.” Lyra, annoyed, flung open the break in the curtain and brushed past several stagehands as she made her way down the darkened hall to her dressing room. Rehearsal was not going well today. The lighting technician was out sick and his assistant was filling in, doing a piss poor job of things. Three times he had missed her spotlight cue and during the love scene he somehow flooded the stage with a disgusting green filter that made Lyra and her costar look as though their romantic boat ride was making them sea sick. To make matters worse, the daft idiot kept shouting down from the lightbox every time he realized he’d made a mistake, interrupting the actors on the stage with his shit-worthy apologies. Lyra couldn’t handle it any longer. The director called five and Lyra didn’t hesitate in removing herself from the unflattering lighting.
Sitting in front of the vanity, adjusting one of the curls in her hair, Lyra pouted into the mirror. Today was just not going well and she wanted to smack that lightboy right out of that damned box. She touched up her makeup, needing something to do with herself while she waited for the director to sort things out. Pink lips pressed together and then released with a nice popping sound that filled the room. Lyra drug her forefinger across her lower lip line to remove a bit of color that had run a little too low. Knock. Knock. Knock. “Hmm?” Lyra didn’t bother looking away from her reflection as one of the stagehands opened the door and popped his head in. “We’re wrapping for the day, Miss Burke. Frank’s been let go.” “Who?” Lyra stopped preening in the mirror and turned to look at the man. Was he speaking in third person like a pretentious moron or was he talking of someone else? “The lighting assistant, miss.” “He deserved as much, didn’t he?” The man nodded, said his goodbyes, and left the room, shutting the door behind him.
This was lovely. She now had an opportunity to turn this day around, given that she had a bit of unexpected free time. Grabbing her coat and her handbag, Lyra left the Winchester Playhouse, planning to do a bit of shopping. Shopping always cheered Lyra up. Heading down Whimsic Alley towards the jewelers, a pretty blonde up ahead caught Lyra’s eye. Lilith was standing in the street looking into the coffee shop. Following Lil’s gaze, Lyra saw her other sister waving from inside the shop, grinning like a mad woman at their older sister. Boots clicked on the cobbled street as Lyra’s pace quickened, catching up with Lilith easily. “Fancy meeting you here,” Lyra said happily as she came up behind her sister to stand at her side. “Are we meeting here without me, or is this a happy coincidence? You know I hate it when you two leave me out of things.” Lyra’s gaze shifted from her older sister on the street to her younger sister in the shop.

Only Skin Deep Lilith looked mortified at Liv's attention grabbing enthusiasm, and Livvi couldn't stop the snort of laughter that escaped from her nose, placing a hand over her mouth as Lilith gave a subtle head jerk to call her sister out, another stunning blonde appearing at Lilith's side as Liv watched out of the window. Lyra. Had they been out shopping together? Liv wasn't the jealous type, but she felt a little pang of petulance as she thought of her sisters leaving her out of a shopping day. Telling herself that they didn't know her schedule for the day, and must have thought she'd be busy working, Livvi picked up her coffee and packed her camera away in her bag after taking a snap of the girls out there in the street, looking perfectly preened as they always did. Liv wasn't exactly a tramp compared to them, she had on a simple black dress and tights for ease of movement when climbing trees and laying on the floor trying to get pictures of snotty children, but she also had the cutest boots in the world on, and a pretty expensive fur cloak that made her look just adorable when she put the hood up. A quick glance in the mirror on the far wall of the coffee shop told her that her hair was still looking good, too, and she held her head high as she strolled out of the room amidst curious glances after her knocking and waving at the window. Her coffee was in one of those plastic cups that was enchanted to keep your hands warm in the cold, and she held onto it for dear life as the icy chill outside hit her face, letting the door tinkle shut behind her and crossing the street in a half trot towards her sisters. "Hi!" she beamed. "Are you two shopping without me!? I finished work at lunch time, you should have sent me an owl." That was all she would say on the matter, not wanting to cause tension or make anyone feel bad, though her sisters were used to her being open and honest with them, so they probably wouldn't bat an eyelid at her wanting to let them know that she knew they'd left her out. Liv harboured no bad feelings, though, and she leaned in to kiss her sisters in the cheek, Lilith first, then Lyra. "You could have come inside, it's freezing out here," she added, pulling her hood up over her head and sipping her warm and yummy cappuccino, feeling the heat hit her stomach with a lovely whoosh. _______________________ tag: Lilith A. Oh for Merlin's sakes, were her sisters purposefully trying to embarrass her? Did they realise she had a reputation to uphold? They were fine. They could do as they pleased, marry whoever they wanted within reason and so long as mother and father didn't get an offer on the pair they were basically free as a bird but no, today was a day of torture apparently. Liv with her banging and what Lilith could only assume was some kind of horrific snort and Lyra, appearing out of nowhere with the brightest bloody pink top on, peeking through her coat so that absolutely no one in the whole sodding world could possibly have a chance of missing her now. Lil adored her baby sisters but honestly, it was like neither of them had the slightest clue what to do in public sometimes. "Happy coincidence." She smiled at her sister, leaning in and offering a cheek to kiss, or more bump against. Lilith wasn't a kisser, she just didn't do it and no one ever called her out on it, instead she pouted a little, grazed her cheek close, but never touching, to whoever's and then allowed them to either do the same or side kiss her cheek lightly. Though a tad hypocritical she did take note of those that did not make that little kissy noise and mentally marked them as complete bitches that thought they were better than her, well they weren't and they especially wouldn't be once she became a Lestrange. Her sisters however did get a little more than most and Ly-Ly got the little kissy noise but only because Lilith loved her.
Livvi was bounding before them in no time but Lilith kept her composure. "Honestly, what has happened to make my sisters so obscenely paranoid?" She asked and just as she had done with Lyra, Lilith leant forward and made little kissy lips and a little kissy sound as Liv grazed against her cheek. "Inside there?" Lilith questioned looking to the shop and then back to Liv as though her sister might have been joking, which of course she was not, "The place where you have just caused a scene?" She let out a sigh, "I'd rather marry a half-blood." She said, scrunching her nose up. "I was just on my way shopping for a new dress, work was boring me so I left for the day." And she had that luxury unlike the two of her sisters, "Didn't you have the Larson shoot this afternoon?" She asked Liv, she'd thought her youngest sister was going to be kept busy all day but she wasn't exactly well known for keeping track of Liv's schedule, she didn't even have a schedule of her own that she kept to so why would she bother learning anyone else's? Larson just seemed familiar for the day but perhaps it was tomorrow, or perhaps even yesterday. There was even the possibility that it was cancelled until a later date, who even knew beside Liv, Larson and his publicist?

A girl should be two things classy and fabulous
“Happy coincidences, indeed,” Lyra said cheerfully, fully aware that Lilith was mildly put out by something about Lyra’s presence. There was always something. She wore her hair the wrong way, or her shoes were a shade lighter than her handbag. It was always a minor offense and Lyra knew that her older sister loved her to pieces, so she could hardly take offense to it, especially if Lilith managed to keep her remarks to herself as she was doing now. Lyra both wanted to know what was supposed wrong with her today and also didn’t. It would probably come out sooner or later, if not today than a year from now when Lilith made mention of the event for some reason and added in a sly little “you remember, your hair looked awful that day” or something of the sort. Her hair, however, looked perfect, as did the rest of Lyra. She was confident enough to believe herself when she thought that she didn’t need her sister’s approval, but unsure enough to still want it.
Liv joined them, looking like a happy little Eskimo in her fur-trimmed everything as she bounded over to where the women stood. Liv and Lilith greeted each other with a little kiss, then it was Lyra’s turn. It was always in that order; Lilith then Lyra. Eldest, then middle. Unless Lilith wasn’t around, in which case it was the baby (Liv) then Lyra. The only time Lyra was greeted first was when she was with either of her brothers, because then it was simply rude to not acknowledge the lady first. Lysander was off at school and Lucian had his fiancée and thriving business to attend to, so more often than not Lyra was left with the option of being greeted last or not at all. Not that it bothered her. She certainly hadn’t sulked on this very topic for the majority of her teenage years…
Liv asked if the two women were shopping without her and Lyra laughed. “I just asked the same thing!” She didn’t consider it being paranoid, she just liked being invited was all. “Well,” she said turning her eyes on her older sister now, “how about Liv and I go shopping without you some time and see if you don’t get a bit torn up over missing out on time with us.” Lyra knew that wouldn’t be the case. Lilith was an independent witch and didn’t get bogged down by that sort of thing. She also liked to talk about work, apparently, and Lyra’s eyes glazed over as Lilith brought up some job of Livia’s that wasn’t taking photographs of Lyra, so really why should she bother listening?

Only Skin Deep Lilith asked about the Larson shoot, and Liv's face dropped, lip curling, disappointment in her usually expressive eyes. "Larson cancelled, so I thought I'd make up for the huge gap it created in my purse by treating myself to some shopping therapy." She paused, realising that trying to make up for a loss of money by spending money wasn't actually logical in any way, shape, or form. "Pretend that makes sense," she said, waving a dismissive hand at her words and sipping her oh so warm drink again. She didn't know why Lilith was suddenly keeping track of her work now, she'd never been one for obsessing over schedules herself, so why on earth she was concerned about where Liv should be according to her work diary was beyond Livia. Maybe she was after a promotion of some sort, so she was trying to act more work conscious as a show of being capable of more responsibility. Out of everyone at Pur, despite her shallow nature, Liv couldn't think of anyone more suited to having more power than her eldest sister, but it wasn't really anything to do with her, so she kept her thoughts on the matter to herself, rather than opening up a can of worms by asking if that was indeed why Lilith was inquiring about the Larson case. Lyra was being childish about being left out of shopping - which she really hadn't been - but Livvi laughed and nudged her dramatic sibling with her hip. "Not that I want to cause any rifts, but I'm always up for a bit of shopping," she chimed in, not wanting to agree to shoving Lilith out, but never able to refuse some girl time with Lyra, who was just the most fun, especially when it came to splashing cash on sparkly things. "Anyway, enough public bitching, we're all here, how about you let your two favourite sisters help you find that dress you mentioned?" she suggested to Lilith, looping her arm through Lyra's and giving Lil the biggest puppy dog eyes she could manage. "We'll be good. Promise." She bumped her hip against Lyra's again to encourage her to join in. "Won't we, Ly-Ly?" Of course they would. Well, maybe not completely well behaved, there might be a spot of dress envy if Lilith found something particularly stunning, which was something she had a knack for, or a touch of grumping over Liv or Lyra saying something that Lilith loved was hideous, but nothing too serious. They'd survive the afternoon without anyone taking off in a huff, she was sure of that. _______________________ tag: Lilith A. C. Go shopping, without her? Had they not done that in the past? Were her sisters so incredibly co-dependant that in all their years as fully grown adults with freedom at their very finger tips they'd never gone shopping without her? She found that incredibly hard to believe. Her sister had to be playing, trying to mess with her for some reason but she honestly couldn't think why Lyra would think that would mess with her or why she would even want to play at such petty games. Lilith wasn't really in the mood for stupid little antics and if that was the way her sister was feeling this afternoon then she and Livvi were welcome to go shopping with one another, Lilith was more than capable of enjoying her own company without the need of depending on another for social interactions, "Oh Lyra, always the entertainer of the family." She smiled at her sister. She did love her, very much, but Lilith wasn't the type to coddle anyone, "You are allowed a day off with your sisters, you know." Not that Lyra would ever stop, it was in her nature to just crave attention. Classic middle child with classic middle child issues.
"Well if I'd have known you weren't going back to the office I would have give you a little present this afternoon. As it happens I've left it on your desk, a rather exciting photoshoot with a certain hunky quidditch team." Lilith smirked coyly. The main players, the ones Liv would be focused on, were entirely all pureblooded and promoted this year by Pur Magazine itself. They were doing exceptionally well and a couple of the players were even being looked at by the English national team. Seven divine men and they were all Liv's to do as she pleased. Any pose that popped into her naughty little mind could go without saying. Lilith was certain her sister would behave in quite the professional manner and once she was off the clock she'd enjoy herself in a less than profession manner. Rumour had it that Tersha Knight, tacky little writer with a lot of potential for the Daily Prophet had an interview this month with the divine Phillipe Laroux, French quidditch star on the rise, due to arrive in the country any day now and there was only one thing that would beat that - hunky British players. Plural. Nothing boosted magazine sales like a little bit of competitive patriotism. The Daily Prophet would look simply traitorous compared to Pur.
Lilith held back an amused smile, Liv was always entertaining though she never meant to be, Lyra was always the one that tried. "Well, so long as you promise I suppose we could head to Fifth Element for a look at a few dresses and perhaps on to Whipford's. They got their new looks in this week and rumour has it Christian De Voile has even created his own exclusives to Whipford's!" Lilith smiled excitedly, eyes lighting up. Shopping with her sisters would be fun but then everything she did with her sisters was rather enjoyable. She loved Liv's work and she admired Lyra's performances very much. She didn't have to have direct involvement to enjoy her sisters presence. The passion they put into their work and their drive to succeed and be the best made Lilith proud beyond words. Still no matter how much she loved her sisters and was proud of them, she began heading in the direction of Fifth Element, a place with high end evening gowns but unless it was one of a kind, Lilith wouldn't be buying and she wouldn't be buying without having her sisters approval first. She trusted them to tell her if she looked like a stretched giraffe or a pregnant whale, though they were often more subtle in their criticisms than that. Mostly.

A girl should be two things classy and fabulous
Blah, blah, blah. From time to time it became apparent that Lyra was most definitely the most interesting Burke child, and this was one of those times. As her sisters chatted about their work for the magazine – all behind the camera, which was just ridiculous when you were as attractive as any of the three blondes that currently stood in the middle of Whimsic Alley – Lyra’s mind began to wander. She needed a manicure before opening night, and a massage always helped to relax her before a big show. These were things she had yet to book and she really ought to get on it. Did she need a facial as well? It couldn’t hurt, she supposed. That theatrical makeup was all very thick and wreaked havoc on one’s complexion if the skin wasn’t properly cared for. Lyra had an extensive skin care routine, but a facial was always a welcomed bonus. Her mental planning was interrupted as Livvia bumped playfully into her hip, apparently having ended her and Lilith’s conversation about their boring jobs.
Clapping her free hand over Liv’s wrist as her sister looped arms with her, Lyra grinned at her eldest sister. “Most definitely. We’re always on our best behavior,” she smirked and then whispered an aside to Livvia, “in public.” She giggled. Lyra agreed that a visit to Fifth Element would be a spectacular start to a little sisterly bonding, not that they were the sort of family that was in need of such things. The Burkes were incredibly close-knit and loving; a rarity in this world, apparently. Lyra loved all her siblings equally, but she found Livvia, who was closest to her in age, to be the most fun to be around. Lilith was more proper than the rest, Lucian a bit over protective, and Lysander was simply the baby. It was yet to be seen what he would look like as an independent adult but he was a Burke and therefore Lyra, as well as everyone else in the family, knew that he would do well when the time came.

Only Skin Deep Liv's eyes nearly bulged out of her head at Lilith's teasing. "Quidditch team!?" she squeaked. "For me!?" Her small questions were followed by a good dose of excited squealing, her drink sloshing about precariously inside it's cup. Being in charge of a shoot of hot Quidditch players meant she'd get to have them all half naked while she oogled them through the lens if she wanted to. It sounded so perverted but so good. If she ended that shoot without one of those guys giving her his number, she'd eat grass, and she was already imagining which players she fancied and how good they'd be in bed. If her coffee didn't warm her up, those thoughts sure would, and she bit her lip as she allowed herself to get lost for a moment while Lilith talked about clothes and which shops she wanted to go to. She was snapped out of her naughty imaginings when Lyra patted her hand and insisted they were always on their best behaviour. Liv grinned at the hushed end to her sisters declaration. Yes, being well behaved in public was somewhat of a necessity, but behind closed doors Liv didn't class herself as anything like the lady she was forced to pretend to be. She felt like one of those lame muggle superheroes with a secret identity. Lady Burke by day, Adventure Woman by night. Only she didn't really want to compare herself to something so... Muggle. She gave a tug on Lyra's arm and headed down the street in the direction of Fifth Element, which did usually have some nice things, though she liked the sound of the new collection Whipford's had in. "Link up, ladies," she piped up, nodding to Lyra to grab a hold of Lilith with her free hand, ever the middle child, literally stuck in the middle of Miss Perfect and the Wild Child even just to walk down the street. They turned heads, three beautiful blondes strutting down the street looking like they'd just stepped off of the runway, noses in the air as though they were better than everyone because, oh wait... they were better than everyone. It was a lovely ideal, and living it just for one walk down a busy street was fun. The cup of coffee in her hand was the only thing to shatter the image, and so she drank down the last of it before they reached Fifth Element, knowing it wouldn't be allowed inside anyway. She tossed it into a bin as she passed, without breaking formation, and checked with her now free hand that her hair was still pinned up in place. _______________________ tag: Lilith A. C. Lilith gave a single nod to Liv. She rarely kidded around when it came to work but she was happy to see her sisters joy. It had taken a bit of effort to organise everything and because plans were so fragile with the risk of falling through they had to keep absolutely everything hush-hush from the rest of the staff so there'd be no leaks but it was so close now and everything was set in stone that a few more people could be let in on the secret, and with such a big shoot there was only one person Lilith could realistically recommend for the job and it wasn't just because Liv was her sister, it was because she was the best photographer they had at the magazine and just the best photographer Lilith had ever encountered. Knight would get plenty of pictures for her little article of that French dream-boat but they'd all be low quality in a low quality, black and sepia newspaper, whereas Liv would have pictures she'd taken of one of the best teams in the world in all it's glory in the glossy pages of Pur Magazine. Tersha was a good writer, she drew in good readership with her blunt advice column where she said what everyone was thinking but lacked the guts to say. They could use her at Pur. She had an edge that no one else in the industry would dare have and she was respectably pureblooded too.
Lyra made a comment that gave Lilith the impression her sisters were going to be far from proper this afternoon and she was right. Liv made an effort to link up like she was still in school, spending time with her mates rather than her sisters but Lilith reminded herself that her younger sister was still quite young, she'd not been graduated for very long and Liv was bound to still have a few of her old habits kicking around so Lilith walked with her sisters, all connected until they got to Fifth Element. The large glass doors opened for the girls and Lilith walked in first, taking off her scarf and holding it out for someone, anyone to take. She let it go, a house elf catching the thing and she unbuttoned her coat, looking about the store, excited to start a little retail therapy with her sisters. It was a good way to enjoy her day and perhaps the pair would even have a little input on their bridesmaid dresses for later in the year when she married Rabastan. It seemed so far off right now but she knew between work and wedding preparations that the time would just fly by, but first they had Lucian's wedding to get through. It would be a wonderful and beautiful affair, it was just a shame about the bride and her family. At least they were one of the few worthy sacred families she supposed.

A girl should be two things classy and fabulous
Literally stuck smack in the middle of her older and younger sisters, Livvia linked on her left arm, Lilith on her right, Lyra was always middle child in every sense of the word. She made up for it by always making herself center stage to counteract her siblings’ positions, both physically and chronologically. Their heels clicked sharply on the pavement as they headed down the street, Lyra’s head held high knowing she was the best dressed witch in Whimsic Alley. Her sisters came in at second and third, but nothing could outdo the bright pop of her pink collar from under her chic cream coat which matched perfectly with her high heeled boots and sleek designer handbag. Lyra was utter perfection and there was no need to humbly hide her knowledge of such a fact. She didn’t boast about herself in public, but she also refused to play the meek and mild. Her eyes met with everyone they passed that was worth making that tiny bit of connection with, even if it was simply to silently say that she knew they were jealous of her, and that it was only natural to be envious.
Lilith entered the shop first, with Lyra on her heels. A house elf appeared to take their coats and Lyra undid the buttons of her fashionable outerwear and dropped it on top of the tiny creature who mumbled “thank you, miss” from under a pile of fabric. Fifth Element was a bright shop, clear of the usual clutter one would find in a mainstream clothier. Crisp white walls surrounded the Burke sisters in a circular room, the center of which was a black iron staircase that curled upwards, leading to the shoes and other accessories. Mannequins dressed in designer frocks arranged around the room, changing poses every so often so that one could see how the clothing moved. Curtained areas hide changing rooms, which Lyra knew from experience extended farther than they appeared and held inside each one a sofa, a pedestal, and a round of mirrors.
Of course, before they could shimmy into the dressing rooms they would need to have a look about the shop. Lyra was a sucker for a pop of color and a marvelous teal piece was calling her from across the room. “Have you thought anymore on our dresses for the wedding?” Lyra asked, her head turning as she looked over her shoulder at Lilith who was due to marry the hunky Rabastan Lestrange. Lucian’s wedding was coming up, and Lyra already had her outfit picked out for that event. Clementine had not asked Lyra or her sisters to be in her wedding, despite marrying the oldest of the Burke siblings, but once Lyra got over the initial bruise to her ego she found she was really rather pleased at how it turned out. Not being in the wedding party, Lyra was able to wear pretty much whatever she wanted; she wasn’t confined to a certain color or style, or Merlin forbid a matching dress. She was, however, a bridesmaid in Lilith’s wedding and the picky witch had yet to make a decision on what her sisters would be wearing.

Only Skin Deep The sisters made their way down the busy street to Fifth Element, one of the classier stores for clothing, which was only fitting for the likes of the Burke's. Livvi wasn't completely opposed to shopping in smaller shops, and she had even been known to pick up a good vintage piece or two, but she much preferred the quality of clothes you got in places like this. It was what they were used to, if nothing else, and habits were hard to break, not that Liv would ever want to break the habit of looking great. The house elf that greeted them once they stepped inside the warm building was buried under their coats, and Liv was relieved to get rid of her fur cloak for a while, as freezing as it was outside, it was like a toasty oven in here, and she embraced the warmth, missing the summer and the sun and her usual tropical birthdays. She didn't mind any of the seasons, really, but she had a fondness for heat and far away places with hot sands and hotter people all wearing next to nothing. She definitely wouldn't be wearing next to nothing at Lilith's wedding to Rabastan Lestrange. It was set for next winter, and as the topic was brought up by Lyra, she found herself imagining the types of dresses they might end up wearing as Lilith's bridesmaids. Probably something with a fur stole or something, which she found a bit cliche, but she'd go with it for her big sister. They hadn't even looked at dresses for that yet, but there was plenty of time for that, and likely plenty more shopping trips much like this one, only where they were told what to take into the changing rooms to try on, rather than being able to pick whatever they wanted. Like the gorgeous jade green blouse she had just spotted swishing about on a moving mannequin. She crossed the room to admire it, wondering what she could wear it with and then turning as a peach dress caught her eye hanging on one of the rails. She went to run a hand over it as she added her two pence to the conversation. "Have you also thought any more on magically cloning me for the day so that I can take all your pictures, too?" she chirped, joking, of course. She'd much rather be a bridesmaid than a photographer at her sister's wedding, it was a far more important role, but she knew nobody would take the same kind of stunning shots as she would, and it hurt to know her sister would have to go for second best and get someone else to do the job. She held the peach dress up in front of herself and peered in a mirror. Nope. _______________________ tag: Lilith A. C. Walking past the house elf and in to the shop Lilith looked at what was on display a little closer. She still wasn't ready to settle on dresses for her sisters because the right design simply hadn't caught her eye yet. She was not a designer, she could design a dress but perhaps Lyra would be able to. She was in to the more manual labour side of things, working in show business and needing her dresses made for her, she dealt with all this sort of thing far more often than she or Livvi. Lilith only had dresses fitted or designed when there was something worth while that required the absolute best fashion to show off. Lyra needed multiple dresses for multiple shows usually all created from scratch for her. Lilith was really re-thinking this whole wedding dress idea and contemplating getting the absolute best fashion designer around to do her dress and something for her sisters. Though she rather loved the dress she'd picked out and if they'd adjusted it properly then it would fit perfectly. Snug in all the right places, accentuate her natural born gifts and make the whole world jealous. The women jealous of her body and the men jealous of Rabastan for getting to marry such a beauty. Her blonde against his darker features would look incredible amongst the snow and bare trees and there would be snow, even if she had to kill someone for it.
"Something that makes you both look hideous and, by comparison, makes me look even more stunning. I'm thinking something horrendous in lime." She said casually, no hint of her humour in the slightest but she was of course teasing the pair of them. She wouldn't have her sisters looking so disgusting at her wedding. In fact her friends that weren't in either wedding party would be on duty to make sure everyone looked good. Anyone that looked remotely disgusting would be told to go change or they'd miss the wedding and all the frivolities after. "Yes, we'll have someone take some polyjuice potion with a lobe of your ear in it so we can tell who's who. You can sneak around taking pictures while some homeless stranger poses as you in my wedding party for a hell of a lot of money." She said, looking to Livvi, giving a clearly sarcastic look at her youngest sister. Honestly, there was no way she'd ever allow her sister to duck out of her role as bridesmaid in order to take photographs. "The photographer we've hired is one of the very best. Some overachieving, malnourished Russian teen or something." Lilith had no idea. The photographs looked incredible and while the travelling teen was but a teen, they were hard to employ but their works went for hundreds of thousands. Lilith explored the shop, the shop assistant coming out with a tray of champaign for the party of three and setting it down on a large round table surrounded by seats near the changing rooms for family to sit and judge what their family and friends wore out of the changing rooms. "Good morning ladies!" The shop assistant spoke too cheerily. Lilith smiled politely and turned away from the shop assistant, looking towards a mannequin with a flowing winter-spring dress, light and breezy but long sleeved and long skirted. Was that even the right word? The combination of white and blue was rather refreshing but she passed it by, "Can I help you with anything?" She asked, eagerly. Lilith was indecisive. She just fancied a browse but ordering people around was rather fun.
