The night was in utter ruins. She didn’t even want to think about the paparazzi that were surely lining the alley awaiting her exit from the theatre. It was well after nightfall but she’d be leaving in sunglasses regardless. She was humiliated. A perfect run of her latest contracted work and on closing night her sodding co-star skips an entire page worth of dialogue, sending the audience into confused murmurs as to what was happening. Lyra dropped her head onto her arms which laid across her makeup table, not yet ready to face her adoring crowds or read tomorrow’s paper which would most definitely discuss her co-star's flub. And on closing night! How could he do this to her?!

Well shit. Quinn was bracing himself for the dramatics that would surely be following this evening's awkward performance. Lyra tried her best to cover for her co-star but honestly, the show was in utter ruins from that point on. How did someone fuck up a show they'd done for ... how long had this show been going for? To Quinn it felt like months, he was there for opening night and now closing night, and opening had been a far better show but not as memorable as tonight. Quinn was let backstage and he made his way to Lyra's dressing room. He gave a knock on the door, adjusting the bouquet of flowers in his arms. They weren't going to cheer her up, nothing would after the shitshow on stage, but he'd get her through the night and, hopefully, the press would go easy on her tomorrow, but Quinn knew the press, they weren't going to put a positive spin on closing night when there was so much to pull apart.

The sound of knuckles rapping on her door told her that someone had come to comfort her, whether it be someone from the cast, crew, or the few non-theatre folk that were permitted backstage, she didn’t know. All she knew was that nothing could cheer her up. She would be a laughingstock by the time the next edition of the Daily Prophet reached readers’ hands. “Go away, I don’t want to see anyone,” she moaned, but her hand found her wand without looking and when she pointed it at the door, the door flew open. Quinn would be well aware by now that she most certainly did want his attention, regardless of how much she protested.

'Go away', just as the door magically opened. That was so very Lyra and Quinn knew that if he didn't go in then he'd be faced with more drama later on, and he didn't want that, he was usually quite a drama-free kind of person, but Lyra gravitated toward it, somehow creating something out of nothing wherever she went, although this time, for once, Quinn agreed that she had something to be dramatic about. "Hey darlin'," He said, entering her dressing room and closing the door behind him. Quinn wasn't much of a talker around people he didn't know too well and when he was he was known to be blunt but there was always one somewhat safe topic of discussion when it came to Lyra, "Merlin you looked beautiful on that stage tonight." He brought the flowers over to her table and laid them beside her in the hopes that she'd focus on how hot she was rather than her co-star fucking up closing night.

Her hidden pout faltered for a moment as she heard Quinn’s unmistakable voice, followed by her dressing room door shutting. He set a bouquet of flowers on her makeup table beside her as he fawned over her, and in one fluid motion Lyra was standing, her face buried in his chest and her arms wrapped around him. “The papers aren’t going to be writing about my hair and makeup in the morning edition,” she moaned, “and if they do it will be a footnote to the entire debacle.” She lifted her head up and looked at Quinn, eyes still sparkling with emotion. “I could kill him,” she said earnestly, though in reality the most Lyra would be able to muster was a slur campaign that claimed her costar was a muggle sympathizer and have him black listed from every theatre in the country. Actually, that didn’t seem like a half bad plan, but she wasn’t ready yet to put those wheels into motion just yet.
