Triss picked at her meal, barely eating it but breaking the food up enough that it looked as though she'd had more than she had. She tried not to say too much while her parents attempted to force conversations that no one really wanted to be a part of, least of all Triss. At long last the meal came to an end and Triss began feeling her spirits pick up. Amy began excusing them but before she could even finish her father struck the idea. Triss shot up out of her chair as quick as. about of lightning, "That's so unfair!" She yelled, "All you ever want to do is keep me locked up in the ghastly house." The home was lovely, really, but Triss wanted to land any blow that she could, and the more time she was spending in the house, the more she was coming to hate every little part of it, "Just because you ruined your lives you think it's all fun and games to ruin mine well it's not fair! I hate you, I hate you both!" She spat at her parents, but it was hard to hear over her father yelling back and her mother attempting to calm things down. "I hate you, I hate you, I hate you!" Triss screamed, picking up her dinner plate and slamming it on the table, breaking it into three large pieces and countless smaller ones, but Triss paid it no attention, instead she ran from the dining room and through the house, upstairs to her bedroom.

Don't let me hear you say life is taking you nowhere
Voices erupted almost immediately as Triss began to fight back against her parents. She was loud but by no means was she a match for their father, in volume. Triss picked up her plate and slammed it onto the table, shattering it right next to Amy, who jumped in her seat. Daddy followed Triss out of the room, his booming voice fading as he scolded Triss down the hallway, and Mummy began to cry. Amy didn’t know how to react. She simply sat in stunned silence for a moment while her mother began to clear the table, still weeping. Abigail, the youngest Greengrass and a full decade younger than Amy, began to whimper. “Come on, weirdo. Let’s go play in your room.” Amelia took Abby by the hand and gave her a reassuring smile as the sisters left the room. She’d let her brother and sister help their mum out.
