I’VE LOST WHO I AM
I CAN’T UNDERSTAND WHY MY HEART IS SO BROKEN
Severus took a long drag off his fag, exhaling the smoke in a big plume that wasn’t even noticed on the busy London street side. He was doing what he usually did at 7:00 at night on a Tuesday night—observing people, both magical and muggles to see what they did. Boy, there were so many stories he could tell about the goings-on of a busy London night.
The women that were casually holding another woman’s hand while they tried not to be noticed as lesbians. The men that would stalk up to other men and exchange quick words before leaving together. The pure bloods and Death Eaters or Death Eater followers that would secretly meet with muggles or muggleborns for casual flings or serious relationships. The women and men of the night that sold themselves. Of course, many happier things too—such as the happy women and men, married and in love. The families pushing children in small carriages or toting them around in their arms as they pointed out the sights of London. Redheads always caught his eyes first, no matter what they were doing and he cursed himself for how many times he had wished it was her or called out her name before realizing it was someone else entirely. He had gotten better about that but sometimes he still slipped up.
There were many people floating around and the air was particularly thick. Severus thought of taking a casual lover. There were a lot of pretty redheads that reminded him of Lily floating around. There were also many others, ones that didn’t remind him of Lily. He shook himself and pushed that thought from his mind. He didn’t feel like a casual encounter. He was still shaken by the events going on and the situation he found himself in.
”Damn.” he muttered to no one as he stared off across the street from the bench he was sitting on. He wasn’t sure what he should be doing, or what he wanted to do—his go-to of potion brewing had left him with a new set of burns and a foul mood.
In anger he put the fag out on his boot and walked over to a streetlight. He leaned into it and sighed. None of the things in his life were turning out the way he had planned and he was fed up with it. He knew waiting was the best option but... ”I’m tired of waiting!
