Something There Fin had a lot of friends. He also had plenty of acquaintances, a good few play things, even the occasional more regular play thing, which he'd heard was called a girlfriend, but he lacked the sense of attachment to any of them to be able to call them that. Elizabeth Greengrass, however, was not like any of his other friends. He had known her since their school years, and sought her company regularly at the castle, and again after graduation, and he could safely say after much experimenting that Beth made him feel like no other person on the planet had ever made him feel before. Whenever he was around her he just felt... happy. It was strange. Lots of things made Fin happy in life, it wasn't as though he was a miserable sod, but this was different. It wasn't the same kid of happiness that he got from sex, or killing, or being free of his dickhead of a dad, it was a softer, more subtle kind of happiness. A smile that was just there all the time when he was with her, a sense of easiness, like all was right with the world when he listened to her talk, and a fascination just watching the way her eyes twinkled when she spoke of the things she loved, the way the sun shone on her hair, the way her lips curved into a bright smile, making him want nothing more than to kiss her. It was a feeling he didn't get around any other person, and it had been like that for many years now, though he still wasn't sure what to do with it. He'd arranged to meet up with her to catch up for the evening. Drinks, possibly dancing if she fancied it, and more than likely a stunning outfit, though Fin thought she'd look incredible in a potato sack if she showed up in one. Yeah, he had it bad for Elizabeth Greengrass. Wearing a simple black shirt and trousers, with a dark jacket, Fin left his house a little bit too early and disapparated, appearing at the far end of Whimsic Alley and wishing he'd aimed closer to the Ambrosia Lounge because it was bloody freezing out and he'd forgotten to add that handy little heating charm that Dora had taught him to his clothes. He supposed that's what he got for being too eager to see his "friend". Long legs carried him down the busy street, girls dressed in skimpy outfits shivering their arses off and giving him flirty glances as he passed. He was no stranger in Whimsic Alley at night time, since he owned one of the most famous clubs there, but tonight he was off duty, and so he returned the flirty looks with a dazzling grin of his own as he neared the bar he was to meet Elizabeth at, wondering if she'd be on time or if he'd have a long, cold wait ahead of him. He stopped outside of the Ambrosia Lounge and rubbed his hands together for warmth, blue eyes glancing up and down the bright street for signs of his date for the night. _______________________ tag: @lizzie notes: Outfit. <3 template by izzy[googlefont="Allura"]

Liza hummed softly to herself as she made her way around her cosy little bedroom, having to duck every time that she wanted to go near the window to avoid banging her head on the low ceiling. There was no doubt that her home was very definitely quirky, but she loved it for what it was and it was quite large and comfortable enough for her. She was running a little late perhaps, but she was not only a society lady but a showbusiness star and as such, time was of little consequence to her. Besides, she thought to herself as she glanced up at the little golden clock which sat on the shelf over her door, she had quite enough time, and Apparation was a blessing. Even so, she might admit to being a little flustered... and if she didn't, it could be deduced from the various pieces of clothing scattered around the room. Normally, time had no meaning. Tonight was different.
Finley was an old friend. She had known him since they had been at Hogwarts together, and while they might not have been in the same House, the fact nevertheless remained that whenever Liza found herself with a group of friends, there Finn would invariably be. And thus she had, over the years, got to know him rather well. She knew his tendencies, she knew his weaknesses and she knew his total devotion to his cause. And while his proclivities might worry her a little, because as well as being a good friend, Elizabeth was a big sister and she tried to look out for her associates. She wasn't entirely sure that his lifestyle was particularly helpful, but she supposed that it wasn't her place to interfere.
Elizabeth was a rather cheerful person by nature, but then she had a lot to be cheerful about. She came from a rich and influential family, she had a job which she enjoyed, she had a large and rapidly expanding circle of friends. It was therefore perhaps not surprising that a smile was an almost permanent fixture on her face, and especially when she was in company- because to smile made one look prettier, and although Elizabeth's parents were not quite so concerned with her finding her a husband as many others would have been, they were still very much in favour of it, and smiling had therefore become almost an unconscious action for the girl.
Prepared at last, she wrapped herself in a warm grey coat, took a moment to check that she had everything which she was likely to need and especially her wand, and then she took a deep breath, turned on the spot and Apparated. It was not a feeling which she particularly enjoyed, but Apparation was an invaluable skill and could come in very useful at times. It was so much more convenient than flying. Liza opened her eyes to find herself standing a few hundred yard from her final destination and, with a smile adorning her brightly painted lips, she hurried through the cold streets in search of her date for the evening. "Finn!" she called, spotting her friend's head in the crowd. Red☠Frost

Something There He heard his name being called, though it took him a minute to spot her in the busy crowds. Blonde hair set against the grey fur of her coat caught his eye, and he closed the gap between them, a grin already plastered to his face at the sight of her. "Beth," he greeted, her name soft on his lips as he leaned down to give her a quick hug of greeting, kissing her cheek and trying to pay no attention to how amazing she smelled, or how he would love nothing more than to kiss her lips, rather than her cheek. It pained him, but he created a polite space between them and offered his arm to her. "Shall we go inside?" he asked. "It's freezing out here." Far too cold for Fin, and certainly far too cold for Beth, who seemed to have on a dress with some sort of thin covering on her legs that wouldn't keep the cold out one bit, though he was grateful that she wasn't flashing too much flesh so far, he didn't need the distraction that would bring. Leading her over to the Ambrosia Lounge's front doors, he gave a quick nod to the doorman, who recognised Fin from the fact that he worked only a few buildings away and was a well known face in Whimsic Alley, and the pair were ushered inside the warm building. A welcome witch greeted them inside the door, and Fin gave his name, pleased when she found him on the list quite quickly thanks to his surname beginning with an 'A'. Having an 'A' name had been a perk his whole life, and he often enjoyed how it made him higher up on lists than most. It was petty and childish, but it gave him a boost and a giggle and he liked that it would always be that way. If men had to change their names when they married, Fin would be quite the difficult husband and dig his heels in for a double barrel name with his being the most prominent. The welcome witch offered to escort them to their table, and Fin smiled down at Beth, indicating with a small sweep of his hand for her to go first through the rather crowded bar, though he'd be sad to have her let go of his arm. "After you."_______________________ tag: @lizzie notes: Outfit. <3 template by izzy[googlefont="Allura"]

Elizabeth smiled brightly and suddenly found herself enveloped in a strong hug to which she had no objection whatsoever. One couldn't go around hugging everyone, after all, but she had known Finn for a long time, and she considered him to be a friend. A very good friend, and if one couldn't hug one's friends then who could one hug? His lips touched against her cheek and she instinctively turned her head to face him, smiling up into those deep eyes as she took the man's hand. It was rather amusing, really. She'd known him since she was eleven, if not before- she really couldn't remember; it had been a long time ago, and Finn had become such a basic part of her life that she didn't even really think about it any more. Oddly, Eliza didn't recall ever having actually sought Finn out... he had just seemed to arrive. Which was rather nice, really. He was a pureblood, after all.
And that was another thing. Finn called her Beth. Very few people did. Some of her friends called her Liz, others Lizzie; one or two called her Ellie or Liza, and from that last, she had taken her stage name, which was of course, Liza. But none other than Finn called her by that name. One or two of her siblings did, but generally only when they were feeling in a good mood- what they called her when they were annoyed with her often did not bear repeating. Because her family were well brought up, which meant that when they swore, they did it in private and they really went for it. Though Lizzie still remembered with a shudder what had happened to her the first time that her mother had heard her swearing. It had not been a pleasant experience, not in the slightest.
"Yes, let's." the girl agreed with a dazzling smile, following dutifully as the man led her over to the door and into the welcome warmth of the building. She closed her eyes in relief for a moment or two, before following the witch off in the direction in which, they were assured, their table awaited. "Thank you!" she exclaimed in return to the man's offer, slipping her slim arm neatly out of his and taking a deep breath before facing the crowded bar area. "Chivalry isn't dead after all!"

Something There With a bright smile and a comment about chivalry, Beth slid her arm out of his and followed the welcome witch across the room to where their table was waiting for them. Fin could only follow after her, a grin on his face as he wove between tables, managing to compose his expression to something less amused by the time they reached their table and the welcome witch departed. Fin shrugged off his jacket and hung it on the back of one of the chairs, pulling the other chair out for Beth. "I might have been raised by a monster, but he taught me how to be a gentleman," he told her quietly, not wanting others in the room to hear his comment about his abusive father. Aurelius Avery might have been a complete nightmare to his son for the entirety of Fin's life, but he had indeed taught Fin manners and etiquette, and it was something Fin was proud of in himself. Beaten or not, he knew how to treat others, and nobody could imply he was anything but a well raised young man. Maybe just the type of young man to be seen about with someone as ladylike and perfect as Elizabeth Greengrass. Maybe. "You look beautiful tonight," he told her with a smile. "Out to impress someone?" Waiting until Beth was seated, he dropped into his own chair, scooting in towards the table and picking up the drinks menu that sat as a centerpiece. He already knew what drinks were on thee, but it was the done thing to be seen to be browsing and fussing over what to order. He owned a nightclub, for Merlin's sake, he knew how to make most of the drinks on the menu if push came to shove, but he preferred to be waited on hand and foot. "What'll it be?" he asked, leaning across the table to hold out the drinks menu to Beth so she could look it over if she wanted to. Of course Fin was paying tonight, he always insisted, and would never dream of letting a lady pay for a thing, whether she was a date or just a friend. His sister, on the other hand, had met up with him a few weeks ago for a catch up that was purely for show. They'd had dinner and then Fin had thrown in his half of the bill before exiting the restaurant, leaving his bitch of a sister to pay for herself. Her face had been a delight, he had wished he had a camera with him to capture the memory forever. She definitely didn't count as a lady, and he really didn't need to be thinking of her while in the company of one of the most beautiful girls he knew. _______________________ tag: @lizzie notes: Outfit. <3 template by izzy[googlefont="Allura"]

Lizzie sank into the chair with a smile still on her face, giving her companion a nod of thanks- they had spent so much time together over the years, now that she thought about it, that they no longer needed to speak to convey their own messages. It was nice to go out for an evening- of course, the girl had spent many, many of her evenings out of the house recently, but that was different. Entertaining was her job, and whilst it was a job which she enjoyed and one which she did not really have any actual need to do, it was still work. Whereas her purposes this evening were entirely related to relaxation, and she could think of no better way in which to relax than this; an evening spent in the delightfully chivalrous company of an old friend.
Her smile faded, however, at Finn's comment, and without speaking for a moment, the oldest Greengrass daughter laid a hand on the man's arm. She knew something of what the former Slytherin had been through at home, and while she knew the general outline of events from hearsay and gossip, the particulars were not and had never been of interest to her. She knew that Finn had suffered; that was enough. All that mattered. He was a pureblood, a gentleman of means, an entrepreneur... But sometimes she felt that he was still a small child, still suffering. Not very often, of course. Men did so like to appear strong and infallible... Personally, of course, Liza found a little vulnerability to be rather attractive. She liked to feel that she was helping someone with her presence.
"Who, me?" she enquired with a smile at his compliment. "No, of course not! Who would I possibly want to impress?" Well, that was neither here nor there, for it was a basic principle of pureblood education that one should always be out to impress everyone with one's own beauty and power. Some more than others, of course... But no, she was out to impress no one in particular on this night. She was here to have fun, not to engage in pureblood society politics, and hence, she was dressed merely to impress rather than to stun.
Lizzie blew her companion a kiss across the table as she took the menu from him, skimming it for appearance's sake. She was rather familiar with the range available here, since it had been the site of perhaps one too many post-performance parties, but it never hurt to try something different... although she was somewhat concerned on discovering that there was actually nothing different to try. So she merely handed the menu back with an inviting smile. "Surprise me." she suggested. Red☠Frost

Something There Well, Fin, of course. That's who she should have been out to impress, but alas, that thought surely hadn't crossed her mind, because why would you want to impress someone who was just a good friend with no romantic interest in you? You wouldn't, and so Fin needed to put in a bit of work to change that, and he intended to start tonight. Enough putting it off, enough hiding how he really felt, it was time to step up to the plate and see what happened. He figured a bit of flirting couldn't harm, and if they'd both had a few drinks then if she didn't respond well he could always blame the alcohol and apologise, then go and cry into his pillow for a few weeks until he was slightly less devastated by the rejection. That was the worst case scenario and he still had a way of coming out on top by using his drinking as an excuse for the behaviour, so really he had nothing to lose and everything to gain if it didn't offend her. "Oh, just every man in the building," he shrugged. "Nothing major." It was kind of major to Fin that men's heads turned when Beth had entered the room, and he couldn't deny the small pang of jealousy he felt, though he wouldn't dream of letting it get a grip on him. She was not his, and surely it would be wiser to feel pride at being the guy sitting with the most beautiful girl in the room. She glanced over the menu, and after what felt like only half a minute, she gave up and handed it back to him, telling him to surprise her. Her just saying "surprise me" was a very vague request, and Fin licked his lips to disguise a smirk as he thought of a different way he'd like to surprise her, a way that involved him kissing her right there in the middle of the bar, but he didn't fancy the slap he would get in return. Best to stick to drinks. Grabbing the attention of a waiter, he placed the menu back in it's holder on the table and turned in his seat a little to face the middle aged man who approached. "Two Bellini's, please," he said politely, getting a nod in return and watching the man's back as he whisked away to fetch their drinks. Fin often didn't put too much thought into what he drank, and as a teen he had been a big fan of firewhiskey, though the Starlight had changed that and opened his eyes and taste buds to a whole other world of drinks. He still loved a good glass of firewhiskey, it was still a favourite, but he figured something fruity and nice looking would be better for Beth, and it wouldn't get them drunk too quickly. "You're choosing the next one," he told her with a grin, tilting his head as he regarded her across the small table. "How have you been?" he asked, genuinely wondering how her life was going. It had been a while since they'd had a proper catch up and he liked to hear about what she had been up to, especially since she had such an exciting job. "Have you got any new performances coming up? I haven't had an invite in a while," he hinted. _______________________ tag: @lizzie notes: Outfit. <3 template by izzy[googlefont="Allura"]

Beth's hand went instinctively to her hair, patting at the side of her head to check that none of her long, silky hairs had gone astray. Reassured that this was the case, she returned her attention to the man opposite her and gave him a dazzling smile, her eyes beginning to rove around the room, exploring her surroundings with interest. Beth took an interest in any situation which she happened to find herself in; it was a part of her work, since any entertainer worth their salt drew their inspiration from real life. Which was somewhat difficult if one didn't pay any attention to real life in the first place, so Beth tended to make people somewhat uneasy with her constantly roving eyes. Still, that was a price that she was willing to pay. It seemed to be happening even now; as her eyes passed over the man at the next table, he avoided meeting her eyes- and as she looked at each of the other men in the room in turn, the same thing happened. Curious, but she didn't let it bother her. Life was too short. The girl idly tapped a rhythm on the table with one fingernail, trying to remember where it came from and giving up. The trouble when one knew so many songs was that they all started to blend into one.
"You do exaggerate, Finn." she told her companion with a weary smile. Beth was utterly convinced that her own looks were nothing special, and no matter how often people told her otherwise, she would maintain that viewpoint. Of course people were going to be polite to her; she was a Greengrass, after all, and that was a name that commanded respect. Well... it commanded respect from those who knew what was good for them. Beth had connections, it was true, but her connections were nothing compared to those of her parents. Not that she was so petty as to take insults so far... That would just be silly.
She raised an eyebrow at his choice of drink but made no comment- she had told him to choose, after all. Beth had no doubt that it would get better the further down the glass she got. Most things did, or at least in her experience. The girl wasn't picky, despite her privileged background. Her favourite cocktail was a simple vodka and tonic. But she supposed that she was going to have to think a little more expensively than that tonight.
"I've been fine." Beth assured the man across from her with another smile. "A little bored at times, I have to admit, but fine overall. How about you?" There were sometimes long breaks between her professional appearances, and while there was always work to be done on her music, it didn't take up weeks at a time. "You're always invited, you should know that! I'm doing a show next Saturday. 'The Problems of Today'. If you're free, I don't think we're quite sold out yet." Red☠Frost
