"Whatever, Dora." Fin spoke through gritted teeth, his eyes glued on the unfolded towel in front of him. He willed himself not to fold it, just so that he could prove that he was still in control of himself, because he was raging just then. "Maybe we just don't do Valentine's anymore," he said, hating the suggestion but feeling like it was probably going to be their reality going forward. He wasn't single any more, he couldn't do all of the holidays with Dora and have a happy relationship with Jovi, it was just the way things were. And if she'd found someone to spend those times with, then he shouldn't complain. Still, he felt like murdering someone, and given the fact that Dora was the only viable option to him at the moment, he crossed the room and took the screaming baby from her. He needed to calm down, and he'd have no choice if he was holding Pansy. He left the kitchen, heading for the living room where he began to pace up and down making soothing sounds and shushing the tot until she calmed, and Fin felt his own anger begin to settle.

Fin went to the kitchen sink and scooped up some water, washing his chin vigorously as Dora ranted about her delusional views on his love life. Her martyr routine wouldn't work on him and she knew it, she could play the victim all she liked but they both knew she was just being a cow. "Shagging someone regularly?" He repeated with a scathing look. "That someone is your cousin Dora. I thought you were happy for us." Dora had seemed delighted to find out that Fin was dating her cousin, but it appeared she had changed her mind. Or maybe all the alcohol was changing her mind. She was going off the rails, and for the likes of Fin, who was no angel, to think that, it had to be bad.

"You know what's dragondung? Your fucking attitude. We're not married, you've clearly got other things going on with some secret person you don't want to talk about, and if you'd rather spend time drinking with him than hanging out with me, then that's fine. Just tell me instead of being a bitch about it." Pansy was still wailing and Fin's ears were ringing. He grabbed a towel and dried his face, flinging it on the countertop, though it killed him to not fold it neatly.

After an intense snogging session that made the singing Gondolier turn crimson with embarrassment, Fin and Jovi were now sitting on an exquisite balcony with a view of the city to die for. Lunch had been served and Fin had ordered the finest champagne for them to drink. The city was spread out beneath them in all its glory, but Fin couldn't take his eyes off of Jovi. She was far more beautiful than a bunch of ancient buildings. The way her hair blew in the breeze, her lips on her champagne flute, her eyes shining vibrant green whenever she looked towards the sun. Thoughts of rings ran through his mind as they ate and chatted, easy, happy in each other's company. He thought it might scare her off if he popped the question too soon. She was younger than him, what if she wasn't ready for that kind of commitment?Merlin knew Fin was ready, his dad had pressured him his entire life, and now that he'd found Jovi he knew that he wouldn't hesitate if he thought she'd say yes. "Can I ask you something?" he said softly, leaning closer to her across the table.

Aha! He had been right, something was going on with her. She was seeing someone, and they were getting her to ditch her kid and go out drinking all the time. It wasn't unusual behaviour for Dora, but now that she was a mother it kind of changed things. Fin noticed it, but he got the feeling that Dora was oblivious to the fact that she needed to slightly alter her life now. "Well, aren't you seeing whoever it is on Saturday?" he asked, taking the glass she offered and clinking it against hers. She could see her new guy on actual Valentines Day and then go away with him the week after. He knew he was being nosy and pushy, but he was Fin, he couldn't keep his mouth shut, not with Dora. Pansy failed to grab Dora's glass and turned her attention to Fin's. He struggled to hold it at arms length without dropping the wriggling baby. How were you supposed to hold onto these things? Twisting his hip at a weird angle to keep Pansy on it, he stretched his neck out as long as he could to take a sip of his drink, and then gave up altogether and put his glass on the counter, pulling a funny face at Pansy, who giggled.

Her finger on his chest sent shivers to places that should not be shivering just then. Fin bit his lip, wondering if he could shove the Gondola guy into the water and have his way with Jovi right there in the boat. It was pretty cold, she might not go for that. "For you, baby, anything," he told her, leaning in to kiss her a little too passionately for company. He pulled away, his nose touching hers. "Now tell me I'm the better singer or I'm coming back when it's dark to kill this guy," he murmured, for her ears only. He was deadly serious, he'd put it out there now, and a blow to Fin's ego would cost the guy his life, there was no going back now.

Drinking and socialising sounded like typical Dora, though she didn't elaborate any more than that. Fin gave a slow nod but said nothing. Who was she socialising with? That was the real question. People who were keeping her out all night knowing she had a kid to get back to. Fin was no angel, he was the worst of the worst in a lot of scenarios, but if he had a kid he would curb the wild nights and at least make sure there would be someone there with the child all night in case he wasn't up to caring for it. Would Jovi be the mother? He was sure she'd make an amazing mum one day, she had her head screwed on, and the ability to make pretty much everything she touched a success. At least that was how Fin saw her. Maybe he was biased. Maybe he should stop thinking about having kids with Jovi. That was a long way off, if they ever made it to that point. He would like it to be her, if he were honest with himself. His dad would, too. Sticking with Jovi would be a breeze in a lot of ways.

Fin's smile was gentle as Dora took him back to their last trip to Greece. He remembered it vaguely, it was all a bit of a blur, but the memory of the Oracle telling them they'd be married before the decade was out was something that stuck with him. Now that he had Jovi in his life, he wondered whether the woman had meant that Dora and he would be married to each other at all. Perhaps she'd meant they'd marry other people, but they'd both been too absorbed in being young and free that it hadn't really crossed their minds that they'd settle down with anyone so soon. "Maybe we can take Pansy. Visit the Oracle again and see what she thinks of us rocking up with a baby." He chuckled. "But not this weekend. I'm taking Jovi away, it's our one year anniversary," he reminded her, hopping down from the counter and pouring himself a glass of milk. Pansy was making a right mess of herself, and Fin was glad he wouldn't be the one cleaning her. His dislike of germs was making him want to get as far away from the baby as he could right then. "How about next week?" he asked, heading out into the hall where he'd left the Valentine's gifts he'd brought for the girls. He carried the roses in carefully and placed them on the kitchen counter, the chocolates and champagne floating in behind him. "Ta-da!" He gave Dora his most dazzling grin. "Happy early Valentine's."
